Main house was beautiful and comfortable, kitchen very nice for making meals for family. Smaller building with three bedrooms and bathroom was difficult to get heat to work and we found a dead mouse under one of the beds. Overall had a fantastic time with family and enjoyed time together.
Plenty of space to have a family gathering. Space to play games, watch different tv programs, and to be with one another. Sleeping rooms were spacious and comfortable. The decor was unique but tasteful. Had plenty of cooking supplies to make big meals. Overall great stay.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Loved the outdoor patio. Plenty of room especially with the guest house/bedrooms. Mary Beth was very responsive and provided great detail before our stay. Overall— outstanding place!
We loved how spacious this home was. Great location on a quiet road. Beautiful lake view and the house was fully stocked with everything we needed.
It would be nice if we were not asked to strip the beds and take the dirty laundry to the laundromat. That would be my only reservation in renting this home again.
Overall, a nice stay with an accommodating host and quick communication.
Excellent lakehouse with a great view. Outdoor patio was a great place to hangout and had a patio heater so you could stay warm at night. The gazebo and hot tub were also great features. The house had plenty of space and activities. We only had a minor issue with a shortage of extra trash liners and such, but it wasn't an inconvenience. Beth was a great host who was able to answer any questions we had. I would be happy to come back another time!
Our entire group (including certain members that can be tough critics) was legitimately impressed with this house and property. The online pictures do not fully illustrate the property, and it is even bigger and better in person.
The house was spotless, stocked with basics, and the owner was responsive before and after our stay. We will surely return for a longer stay in the months ahead.
We had our wedding nearby and used Mary Beth’s property for our out-of-town friends to stay in (about 18 of us stayed here). The owners were very flexible and helpful with the booking.
There was plenty of room indoors and the kitchen is big and fully stocked with cooking supplies (pots, pans, spices, etc).
Unfortunately it was raining during that weekend and we didn’t have a chance to use the lake, but it looked beautiful.
Be aware that Cassapolis is not a big town and there aren’t too many things to do nearby. This property is really about a lake getaway with friends or a base of operations during an event, in my opinion.
We had a wonderful stay at this property! Very spacious, the hosts were responsive and check in / out process was very easy. The outdoor furniture/space was plentiful for our group.
It was large enough for all 20 of us. There was a nice large deck with awesome patio furniture. My daughter in law loved furniture so much she order herself a set while we where there. House was well stocked with mist things we needed. Very clean. Owner was awesome to work with.
I really liked that we were able to have the younger (18-30) family members in the coach house, and us old folks get some rest in the main house. Open design and windows are great, communication was on point.
Overall our experience was good. Lots of room and many areas within the house to visit. This house is perfect for multiple families. Well equipped kitchen made meal prep easy.
We enjoyed the house. There were some wet clothes left on a shelf that the cleaner missed. They biggest issue was the parking. You have to park in the grass up a small incline which would normally be fine I’m sure but it rained the whole time we were there so the vehicles were in the mud and the suvs did okay but we had one care that couldn’t get up the incline due to it being wet so they had to park in town and we had to pick them up. Also inconvenient to have to take the Linens in to town, but overall a very pretty place and lots of room.
I stayed in Beth's wonderful home with 9 of my Notre Dame friends. Beth was a great communicator and sent us very detailed information and instructions. Upon arrival we were very pleased with having so many spacious options for our gathering over the three days. We each had a separate bed, the house, grounds and amenities were spotless and comfortable, and the neighborhood is quiet. We will definitely hope to return to Beth's house for future ND weekends!
The house is gorgeous and well stocked. We enjoyed every aspect. High quality amenities and the guest house was perfect. Our family had a fantastic time!
This property was perfect for our family! The home was large and well equipped. There was plenty of room to be together as a group and also places to go for privacy. We cook most meals and the kitchen was well stocked. There are lots of games available and a huge dining table to play on. The lake is gorgeous. My family has rented many homes over the years and this is our favorite!
The owner, Beth, was great to work with. She was always available to answer and questions we had. Highly recommend this home.
Families are most the most inportant thing and being together in a large nice house was perfect.
The property was large enough for all 20 of us we all had a bed to sleep in, Kitchen was terrific for cooking and meal preparation. Our one downside was the weather was terrible. Rain every-other day plus lightening and blowing so bad we had trouble docking boat. We all enjoyed being together this was great house but 20 people for a week with bad weather when we planned so many outside this to do was bad.
The property was large and very functional for every inside activity plus comfortable for all 20 of us .
Absolutely gorgeous! How’s gas so many amenities and great views!!! Everything you could need was present water was beautiful. Located in a quite part of the lake right down the street from the golf course! It’s exactly as advertised
This was our second time staying at this property. It was just as good as the first. The house is always clean and Beth is always available if needed. We will more than likely come back again. The lake was beautiful and we enjoyed the time on the water!
This property was perfect for our friends get away! Plenty of spaces to congregate, indoors and out. The home is well stocked, clean, and if there were ever any questions/concerns Beth made communication very easy. We are already talking about our next trip back!
Perfect space for our group of 13. Tastefully decorated, clean, well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds! Loved enjoying the lake views from the cozy sitting area! Thank you for sharing your home!
More amazing than the pictures showed! Beth was extremely responsive and we loved our stay.

About the host
Hosted by Beth O'Neill
We are second generation owners of this property. My children spent every summer here growing up - and continue to do so as young adults. My husband and I live in Palos Heights (suburb of Chicago) but once the weather turns warm we enjoy as much time as possible at Diamond as do our children and extended family. We have family visiting every summer from New York, Colorado, Missouri and New Mexico. Everyone makes a point to spent part of their summer at Diamond Lake - that's how much everyone loves it!
Why they chose this property
My parents purchased this property in 1979 when it was a 2-bedroom 1 bathroom cottage. Over the years, a third bedroom was added to the first floor, then a deck with a hot tub. In 1990 a dining room was added and the deck was turned into a screen porch. In 2007, a second story was added creating a master bedroom and bathroom plus two additional bedrooms and an additional bathroom. Also in 2007, a coachhouse was added with three bedrooms and a full bath. In 2015, a sun porch with a hot tub was added. In 2016, a shade deck was added. The second generation purchased the property from my parents in 2016. In 2017, a complete first floor renovation was completed featuring a brand new kitchen, a great room with vaulted ceilings and all new windows. All furnishings, linens, towels and decor were completely updated in 2017 as well. This is a wonderful home to spend time with family and friends. We have loved it for almost forty years and we know you will too!!!
What makes this property unique
Diamond Lake is unparalleled for its' beauty and you can see that beauty from every vantage point inside this home - from the kitchen, the family room, the dining room, the deck, the screen porch, and many of the bedrooms. Once you get here, you won't want to leave - not even to run to the is how comfortable you will be here. Whether you spend time playing scrabble on the porch, reading on the deck, swimming in the lake, cooking breakfast in the kitchen, grilling hot dogs for lunch, smoking ribs for dinner, having a bags tournament on the lawn, or sitting around the bonfire making s'mores at night, this is where you want to spend your vacation with family and friends.
