About this property

Tranquil Retreat near Castle Wildland Provincial Park (dog friendly!)

Welcome! Limber Pine Vacation Home invites you to disconnect and rejuvenate in a place that is both serene and magical. Just two hours south of Calgary, it's a place where wildlife roams freely, and the majestic mountains, gentle rolling hills and endless prairie horizons are seemingly neverending.

THE SPACE
Our guesthouse (AKA "The Annex") can be described as an apartment-style accommodation. It is a standalone property located above the garage. It is tastefully-furnished, impeccably clean and non-smoking.

The bedrooms both feature queen-sized beds with cozy down duvets, private ensuite washrooms and satellite TVs. The sitting area has a sofa, armchair and TV.

The kitchen is rustic-style with wood cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and all the cookware necessary to make a gourmet meal. There is a dining table and a reading nook with two comfy chairs. Outside, you'll find the perfect place for an evening BBQ with seating for four and views that will take your breath away.

GUEST ACCESS
- You are welcome to check in anytime between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

- If you are bringing your family dog(s), we require pre-approval so kindly advise us upon inquiry. For short-term stays, there is a $30 fee for each dog.

- We have two Golden Retrievers and two Terriers at our home on the adjacent property.

- We only rent to one "party" at a time, so you will NOT share the property with other guests.

Other things to note:
WiFi is provided as a convenience only to guests. With satellite broadband, there is a limited monthly data usage so we ask that guests respect this and do not download large files or stream video, etc. Also, we do not guarantee a signal as it is sometimes sporadic.

Our guests are always happy to enjoy the “disconnected” rural setting and get away from it all!

Nestled in the quaint hamlet of Beaver Mines, the area is a haven for hiking, snowshoeing, skiing, golfing, fly-fishing and photography, and there are many sights to see nearby such as:

- Castle Wildland Provincial Park: 7 minutes
- Castle Mountain Ski Resort: 17 minutes
- Waterton Lakes: 40 minutes
- Pincher Creek: 13 minutes
- Frank Slide Interpretive Centre: 24 minutes
- Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump World Heritage Site: 35 minutes

Truly is a Vacation Home
This rural location is exactly as advertised. It’s close to many historical sites, towns, and outdoor recreation. It’s clean, cozy, and well-appointed with all the comforts of home including good neighbors. My dog loved them. It was everything expected and more!

Beautiful Beaver Mines
Great place to stay and Chris the owner is helpful in getting us settled in and recommending local sights to visit. The kitchen and living facilities were good and stocked with all necessities to allow full meal preparations. The Beaver Mines location was a great spot to make day trips from to Waterton N. P. , Castle Prov Park and the Crowsnest area. We also had a great day hiking to Haig Lake, on another trip we went to Lundbreck Falls and enjoyed some local beverages at Old Man River Brewing. This was a great spot to stay for 5 days and enjoy the region and enjoy a very peaceful location.

Blissful in Beavermines
We had a gorgeous week at Chris’s lovely apartment. The setting is beautiful, the property is clean, beautifully decorated, comfortable and lovingly maintained. We couldn’t have been happier or more satisfied with our stay. Thank you Chris for sharing your lovely space with us. I can’t wait to come back!

such a great place to stay in a great area
My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week over Canada day and we had such a great time. The suite is above the garage and separated from the main house. I was super impressed at how clean the place was. I value cleanliness in general and especially with this pandemic thing going on. The host living in the main house was super friendly, ensured we knew where everything was and even provided us with a safe place to store our bikes. The place itself is nice! In a beautiful area with amazing scenery, and nice green grass (just like in the photos) and the suite has nice skylights to let light in, and a great patio for when it’s nice out. It’s close enough to Waterton (~1 hour) and much closer Castle Provincial Park / ski hill for all your hiking and biking needs. I’d recommend staying here and will likely be back again.

Didn’t like that it was listed as a B&B when it wasn’t. Otherwise it was a beautiful place and suited our needs perfectly

Comfortable rooms, beautiful setting, friendly and helpful host
This was indeed a tranquil retreat!! Cris was very warm and friendly when we arrived, and was readily available to answer questions and suggest hikes, etc. The apartment was spotless and the beds were very comfortable, with a gorgeous view and the sounds of a creek, with songbirds added in during the day. The little apartment has three bedrooms, and the other two were unoccupied when we were there, so we had it all to ourselves. Given that there are just two armchairs in the common area and a fairly small dining table, it might have felt sort of small if the other bedrooms were taken by people we didn't know. But for a group of people needing three bedrooms, or people who are maybe more at ease in close quarters, it would be fine. And for just the two of us, it was perfect.

The facility was nice. The pictures and description did not match the experience. Wifi was barely functional and use was restricted. There were hundreds of fruit flies / gnats in the bedroom and made the experience seemingly unhygienic and frustrating.

WOW ! Amazing
We had the greatest stay with Cristina! The place was clean, quiet with all the amenities you need! She helped us with all we needed and had lots of ideas about what to do in the area. And we BBQ every night! Definitely coming back and we would recommend it to anyone!

Great location with great charm!
Very clean and well tended to property. Accessible to amenities and attractions. Host was welcoming and knowledgeable of the area. Dogs have their own private space, as do the cows. As a guest you must be open to seeing and being around animals 😊 They all were a welcomed addition to our stay! Definitely would recommend this place to friends and family.

Good value if you don't mind the dogs
We had trouble contacting the owner before we got there because of a technical glitch on the VRBO site, which I believe has been fixed. This property is about 20 minutes west of Pincher Creek, and is very clean and well decorated. It is separate from the owner's home, sharing a driveway. The owner has several large dogs, which don't have access to the VRBO, but they bark a lot. We found this very wearing. Without the dogs, and with a more friendly welcome, I would have given this property an additional star.
