About this property

The Louise Cottage: 2-bedroom vintage rustic charm in Concan 2. 10 km from the river

The Louise Cottage brings to life the bold personality of Louise Sawyer from Thelma and Louise, the classic film about two bffs on the ultimate road trip adventure. Vintage rustic charm & funky flair, this cottage is the perfect place to crash after a day floating the Frio or exploring Garner park. Conveniently located off of hwy 83, between Concan and Garner, this location is ideal for those who want the best of both worlds. We are close to the water, but away from the crowds. You'll be able to enjoy the river all day, then come home and relax away from the hustle and bustle.

As Louise would say “We’ll be drinking margaritas by the Frio mamacita.”

This area is surrounded by birds, who make daily appearances in the morning. So far, we’ve spotted a Indigo Bunting, Vermilion Flycatcher, blue birds, cardinals, the rare Golden Cheeked Warbler, and many more incredible birds.

You will have fun access to the entire house. This includes both bedrooms, 1 bathroom, the kitchen and living room, and outdoor bbq pit, and front porch.

*Multiple houses are available on the property, if you have a large group.*

*Our maximum guest policy is strictly enforced. No extra guests allowed.*

*We do not provide beach towels, and will charge $15 per towel for any missing towels.*

*This listing includes a 4% local and 6% state occupancy tax.*

*We only do 1 night bookings during the week. On weekends, there is a 2 night minimum*

***We do have wifi on the property, but it is limited and slow. It's rural country wfi, and cannot handle streaming services. The wifi is here if you need to check your email, send a text, or make a call***

Weekend getway
Thank you for the wonderful experience! We stayed in the Louise cabin and it was wonderful! There is no tv and it was great to unplug and get our kids outside (they loved the record player btw!). The compound is so cute and has a garden with boarder rocks guests can paint, a huge chalkboard walls to color, swings, and goats and a pig to see. It is super close to Garner State Park and was the perfect little getaway for my family and I. Thanks again!

The property was clean and they had the A/C on and the cabin was cool when we checked in. The beds were very comfortable and we got a great nights sleep before heading out the next morning

Perfect getaway for us!
We needed an affordable but comfortable place for a few days to rest and float the river. Jake and Leah were fantastic hosts and fun to get to know. The cabin was decorated really well, very clean and the beds were very comfortable and the couch too. Convenient distance from good restaurants and river access. We would definitely come back!

Wonderful Stay, Wonderful Hosts, Wonderful Location
We loved it here. Leah and Jake were awesome and very accommodating and I highly recommend staying here. The house was great and we loved how it was only 5 minutes from the river while being secluded enough to enjoy time alone.

About the host

Our story is a tale of adventure, mixed with whimsy, love, and surprise. From meeting on the dance floor of a honky tonk , getting married in Botswana six months later, running off to Australia only to come right back to Texas, then California, and now our biggest adventure yet. Moving to Concan, Texas population 100, and starting The Inn Between to share with our amazing guests.

I grew up coming to Concan and floating the Frio River, while Jake grew up camping at Garner State Park year after year. Like many Texans, this place is special to us, some of our best memories were made at the Frio.

We knew we wanted to live in Concan, but in a town of 100 people, we needed to figure out a way to make a living. As a little girl, I dreamed of having a house out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by plants, hills, and animals, that I could share with travelers looking to escape for a bit. I thought it was just a romantic dream that would never become a reality. Who would have known that this childhood dream would become the exact thing that Jake and I would create as a young married couple?!

We started The Inn Between to help families and friends create lifelong memories. We believe that family/friend vacations are irreplaceable when it comes to building relationships and connecting with loved ones.

Our greatest honor is to be part of your story, to help you connect as a family, and create traditions to be passed down generation after generation.

What makes this property unique

We take pride in bringing you the best customer service in Concan, and are committed to making your trip as magical as possible. Because we live on the property, we are available to 24/7.

We have several fruit trees and herbs that we grow for our guests to enjoy. Feel free to pick fresh fruit throughout your trip.

Though we are not waterfront, we are very close to the water, and away from the crowds that like to hangout by the river all day.

We love adding extra special touches to help make your trip personal and believe that you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get quality service.
