About this property

Moose Crossing Cabin...Private, Not Isolated

Come for a lovely, quiet vacation in the beautiful NC Smokey mountains. A beautiful cabin awaits you. Relaxation at its' best! Read on!

Looking for all the amenities and beauty of a mountain cabin without having to drive on dirt roads and be isolated? Moose Crossing Cabin is the place for you! Just minutes from quiet, quaint 'downtown' Andrews, this cabin is beautifully decorated for your comfort and privacy. Situated on a quiet, residential street high above the town, the cabin's front porch view is of the gorgeous northern mountains across the valley. Side porch overlooks a garden area with flowers (seasonally!) and bird feeders. Covered porches with rocking chairs, dining table & arm chairs for your comfort no matter the weather. A 10' X 18' open deck is on the back of the cabin with charcoal grill, chaise lounge, table, umbrella and four chairs, two faux wicker arm chairs. Cabin backs up to Leatherwood mountain, a beautifully forested and undeveloped area.

Ideally suited for two persons, bedroom features queen bed, firm mattress and 'faux' featherbed for the ultimate night's sleep. Room darkening drapes and wooden blinds. Robes provided for your comfort. Window A/C, ceiling paddle fan. Additional entrance door from side porch. All linens provided. You will find your bed made with ironed luxurious sheets! If needed, the LR sofa is loveseat-size sofa bed. A twin size fold-out bed with mattress and featherbed is also available. Cabin is small and designed with two person occupancy in mind.

Kitchen is small, located within the living room but fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. Upon arrival you will find your refrigerator stocked with breakfast items! Coffee, tea, hot chocolate mix, creamer, sugar, sweeteners, orange juice, milk, cereals, fresh fruit, jelly, English muffins, fresh eggs, waffles, pancakes, pure maple syrup, pre-cooked bacon, sausage, butter and spreads! Arrive ready to relax without worrying about grocery shopping for the morning! Definitely not your ordinary rental cabin!

Living room features cathedral ceiling, ceiling paddle fan/light, window A/C, French doors looking out onto your front porch and the mountains across the valley. Curtains swing away from the doors for a mountain view from inside. A very comfortable sofa and a Lane rocker-recliner. 32' flat screen TV located on the fireplace mantle. Free secure wireless internet access! You won't find that amenity in another local rental! All necessary items for fireplace are provided; dry wood, starters, kindling, matches, etc. Please see website for more photos and information!

Your hostess resides in the small home located in front and to the side of Moose Crossing Cabin. Cabin has private driveway. I assure you your privacy! However, I am available should a guest have a question, concern or want additional information regarding local sights. Some renters feel more secure knowing someone is available nearby should an emergency or unusual event occur. I am CPR certified and have over 40 years experience in the medical field.

Cute Cabin
My husband and I stayed 3 nights at the cabin. The cabin is cozy and clean. The owner had literally any and everything that you could possibly need to include a stocked refrigerator of breakfast items. We enjoyed our stay. The cabin is in need of some maintenance ( the owner did say someone was coming to repair the stairs however after our departure). The stairs are a little steep and several were very wobbly. Also, the bathroom floor seems a little uneven and unsteady right in front of the shower. We brought along our 2 small dogs as I booked pet friendly, but the owner seemed surprised. Maybe if you are bringing pets, send an extra message as it did not ask at booking other than marking pet friendly. We enjoyed exploring the area surrounding the town to include Bryson City and Blue Ridge.

Lovely time at a quaint little cottage.
The cottage was really well stocked and organized. The location is absolutely gorgeous, looking out to the mountains. Pat and Patrick were very gracious hosts and accommodating in every way. I don't think there is anything you will need when you go to the cottage. They are very thoughtful hosts who have anticipated almost every need, even stocking the refrigerator with breakfast items. This is a place I would go back to whenever I visit the Smokies.

The Cabin was just as advertised. It had more than enough room for two. The fridge was stocked with breakfast food for the stay, which was a really nice touch. Hope to visit again in the future....

Motorcycle getaway
Pat was a great host and she left the kitchen well stocked for our stay. The Cabin is cozy and comfortable but it could Use a good deep cleaning. It wasn't dirty per se, just very cluttered with too much of everything(Books, plates, Knick Knacks) which makes it difficult to do a good cleaning. I would and most likely stay there again in the future.

This little gem of a cabin never disappoints!
This is our second time staying at Moose Crossing and it’s so fantastic we have already rebooked for Fall 2025. It is such a quaint little cabin stocked with anything you might need for a nice relaxing stay. Our dogs loved the big porch with gates to roam and sit to enjoy the beautiful view. We enjoyed exploring all the little mountain towns before coming back and cooking meals in the well stocked kitchen. I love that Pat stocks the refrigerator with breakfast and snack foods. She goes above and beyond making sure your stay is enjoyable. We hope to come back every year!!

Big things come in small packages. Miss Pat really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The place was clean and well organized. The bedroom is quite sizeable, with a queen sized bed. Miss Pat even had a twin size cot set up for our son, and we still had plenty of space. She had lots of breakfast items there for us. The wrap around porch is beautiful. I enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels, as well as looking at the mountains. We would certainly stay with her again. (My son is already asking to go back. Lol)

Originally, I'm from Connecticut. During the 80's I lived in Andrews up in a 'holler' and never had the gorgeous view I now enjoy. I then relocated to FL for 15 years and in 1999 decided I had to have another home in Andrews. I purchased 'this old house' and have had extensive improvements done. The 'Moose' was originally a single room over the workshop. I designed and decorated the cabin as it now exists and enjoyed watching it being built in 2007. The view of the northern mountains is breath-taking! I have thoroughly enjoyed all the comments from my guests, many of whom have become my friends.
I work full-time as Radiology Director in a hospital in GA and am away from my home at least ten hours a day. My guests have total privacy, but like knowing I am here in the evenings should they have a problem or question. I have two 'inside' dogs who were hard-luck stories but have adapted to being spoiled house-dogs very quickly!
I have traveled extensively throughout the USA as well as foreign countries and have never found a more beautiful place to live than right here in Andrews, NC.
