About this property

BAYSIDE COTTAGE-4 Blks from Beach; 1 blk from Ferry; Newly Renovated; Large Deck

As you walk thru the door, you will realize you made the right decision to spend your vacation at Bayside Cottage. Refreshing, bright, spacious and warm. This two bedroom, one and a half bath and outside shower is well appointed and designed for your convenience.

You will immediately feel welcomed with the open and bright floor plan. The living room has ample windows and skylights which welcomes the morning sun. Lighting is also enhanced with two skylights that brings the late morning sun into the house. Take your shoes off and relax on the comfortable sofa and chairs. Connect your music (i.e. Spotify, Apple) with the stereo sounds of the Sonos speakers. Enjoy the relaxing air with the two Casablanca style ceiling fans in the living room.

The large kitchen is equipped with double door stainless steel refrigerator with bottom freezer along with other modern appliances. The marble counter top and subway tiles just adds to your vacation experience.

Enjoy the afternoon sunlight thru the triple French doors that extends to an oversized deck and a private fenced-in backyard. You will surely notice that the outdoors is just another extension of the living space inside. Relax and enjoy your coffee or wine on the outdoor dining table or maybe the beautiful white Adirondack chairs. The large deck is equipped with a cantilever umbrella to provide shade to the conversation for you and your company. If you prefer a little shade and quiet from the rest of the company, sneak to the small french bistro table in the front portion of the house also equipped with an overhead ceiling fan as well. Great outdoor location to read a book or a newspaper as well.

Listen to the seagulls in the distance and the faint sound from the horn of the Cape May-Lewes Ferry as it approaches the dock.

But let’s not forget, you also picked Bayside Cottage for its convenience to the beach. Just four short blocks to the beach. The house is equipped with beach chairs, umbrellas, and a beach wagon to cart all your goods for a day at the beach.

When you come back to your vacation home, wash the sand away at the outdoor shower before going inside. Relax with a glass of wine or beer on the Adirondack chairs or even take a nap on the hammock under the maple tree. But don’t nap too long, because you have to walk to the beach later to watch the amazing sunsets or go to Harpoon Harry for an amazing sunset dinner.

But remember, you are on vacation!! You will surely enjoy all of the amenities of the house, proximity to the beach, the quietness of the neighborhood and the pure simpleness of the way a vacation should be.

Great Place in a Great Neighborhood
The house was exactly as described in the listing and in the pictures. It was super comfortable for a family of four with two younger children. The back yard was wonderful and all the outdoor toys/equipment were in great shape (not always the case with rentals). We'd absolutely stay here again if back in the Cape May area!

Great Vacation House
The house was exactly as advertised and well-stocked with anything you might need. While not too large, it was perfect for our group. The backyard is amazing. The owners also supply you with beach chairs, umbrellas and bikes. The location was also perfection for us to get to everything we wanted to do. Will definitely want to go there again.

Better than expected!
This property was beautiful, clean and better than we expected! It was a nice change of pace from the typical Jersey Shore stay being in a cozy, quite neighborhood super close to the bay, but still close to the Wildwood Boardwalk and Cape May Beach so you know you're still at the Jersey Shore! The backyard and new front porch are both amazing outdoor spaces we enjoyed the entire time we were at the house. The hosts were extremely attentive to questions we had prior to and during our stay and were also extremely accommodating. The house has all you need for an awesome Cape May vacation!

Wonderful home!
Our family of four fit very comfortably in this home. The living area and backyard is gorgeous. The proximity to the beach and ferry was perfect. Everything you needed, and then some, was in the home. The location is great and very close to Wildwoods, if you want the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk for a day. We enjoyed our stay and communication with the hostess was fantastic. Thank you for sharing your home!

Small, but clean, comfortable and convenient
Traveling with our teenage daughter the cottage was a perfect size. The living area is surprisingly spacious and has a work space for the work from home folks! Backyard adds extra comfortable living space and the shed also lots of vacation conveniences. While we didn’t use, the bikes are in good shape, a beach buggy and a few yard/ beach games too. About a 5 min walk to the beach and if you do t want to walk back to the house to use the bathrooms, the beach entrance has restrooms that are surprisingly clean and nice. Also a 5+ mi. Walk to the ferry. We had drinks on the lower level waiting to check in and then went to dinner at The Lookout. Great view and food Harpoons is about an 12 min walk or an easy bike ride with bike racks in the back. Host was very responsive to questions and providing pre vacation tips. Highly recommend if you have a small group

fantastic place
The property is very clean and nicely updated. The hosts were extremely responsive. We appreciated everything we needed for the beach was provided...umbrellas and chairs. The yard was perfect for the kids to run around. Our only minor issue is that the pool is not open to non-residents this year, I'm guessing due to COVID. Oh, and we agreed with all your favorite places to dine except for one. Thank you for the suggestions, especially the pizza place. Yum!

Great trip!
I stayed at the bayside cottage the first weekend of June with my 7 year old and 3 year old. The house was the perfect size for the 3 of us. I could pretty much see them from wherever I was. My 3 year old loves to be outside, and the fenced in yard made it a lot easier to let him play especially while I was cooking. It was exactly as described, and felt very quiet, safe and cozy.

Gorgeous Sunset Views
Being cooped up for months (because of Covid-19), my boyfriend (now fiancé) and I had been itching to get away for a week. Our friends stayed here over the summer and raved about their experience, so we quickly made our reservation after a few pleasant communications with Carol. The cottage was equipped with everything that made our stay very homey (beach chairs/wagon, kitchenware, coffee k-cups, washer/dryer, dishwasher, etc etc). Pictures and descriptions were on point. The fenced in backyard provided privacy for a cup of coffee in the morning or a tranquil yoga practice on the big deck. The easy and breezy walk to the beach was nice -- being able to head back to the house for lunch and then off to the beach again. The beach has the absolute perfect sunsets (!!) -- so perfect for a proposal spot :)

House not ready for Rental
Leaking skylights in living room, garbage and recycling cans were overflowing at check in, no hot water in kitchen sink, patio umbrella broken, 3 bath towels for 4 people, no dressers in bedrooms. Price charged was excessive especially for the condition of the house.

Great house for family vacation!
Bayside Cottage was the perfect escape for our family. Well stocked kitchen (olive oil, new pots and pans, sharp knives!), linens (fluffy towels, extra blankets!), beach stuff (chairs, cooler, cart!) and a closet packed with board games for the kids. Owner was great to work with. Thanks for everything!

Bayside Cottage: Wonderful Getaway
After many months of social distancing due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, my wife and I wanted to plan a summer getaway for ourselves and our two small children (two and a half and 9 months) in order to get some fresh air and sunshine. Having vacationed in and around Cape May, NJ for many years, we knew we wanted to be in the area, but away from the crowds. As soon as we saw the listing for Bayside Cottage, we knew that it was the place for us, and immediately booked the last remaining week in July. We were incredibly happy upon arrival to find the property to be just as beautiful as the listing. Overall the cottage has a clean, bright, and modern interior. The living area is spacious and has plenty of natural light entering from the windows and skylights. The kitchen is clean, airy , and well equipped. Bedrooms are a good size, with comfortable mattresses and space for luggage. Rounding out the interior, the bathrooms and laundry facilities leave nothing to be desired. What really drew us to the listing was the backyard and we were not disappointed. The deck is huge, with synthetic planks; so no need to worry about the kids getting splinters. A massive, adjustable canopy provides shade on the sunniest of days. Two trees also provide ample shade in the grassy areas. A nice fence encloses the whole yard and provides privacy and provides peach of mind when the kids run around. Bayside Cottage is a short 4 block walk to the bay beach where you can catch a beautiful sunset. You can also walk to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry Terminal to see the ferry boats come in and out. I'm sure we will say here again soon.

Wonderful Bayside Cottage
We enjoyed a great week at Bayside Cottage. Everything was picture perfect and just as described. Homeowners were always prompt with responses to our questions. Comfortable inside (plenty of seating, a/c, ceiling fans) and out (deck and backyard chairs, shade, gas grill). We made good daily use of the beach supplies (chairs, umbrellas and wagon) for the 4-block walk to the beach, and glad bikes were available for occasional rides. Beautiful sunsets over the bay every evening. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing vacation.

peace and quiet
We had a lovely stay at Bayside Cottage! Ken and Carol were accommodating and responsive property managers. The home is accurate to the pictures - newly renovated, clean & comfortable. The spacious back yard allows for a variety of relaxing activities. The home is proximate to the beach, offering a short walk to the best sunsets anywhere along the S. Jersey Shore. This is the perfect little spot if you are looking for something a little more quiet and peaceful, away from the business of the larger towns.

Host profile image
My wife and I recently purchased this home as part of our exit strategy from Philadelphia in a few more years.

We however, enjoy the beach and we love to see folks who enjoy it as much as we do. We recently purchased the home and had it fixed for our enjoyment. We made this home airy, refreshing, open and simple. We love to travel and one of the most important aspects of vacationing is having a clean, open and refreshing environment. This home has that and more. Sunlight is important to us and one of the aspects we love the most is seeing the beautiful outside from within our home. The front of the house has ample windows and sky light that will feed your energy. Even on the most dismal and rainy day, the house is cheerful.

Also when we vacation in some one house, we sometime forget those little things such as sugar, zip lock bags, cup cake pan or even not having a salad spinner can frustrate someone ( i.e. me :) .

Keeping that in mind, we have almost all the kitchen stuff you will need. So hopefully we will minimize those frustration.

And if there is something we don't have, please let us know. We strive to give our guest the best vacation experience ever.

You will also note that the backyard has a lot of chairs ( 3 lounge chairs/sofa; 4 Adirondack chairs and 6 outdoor chairs & table) and this is so you can maneuver from one location to another base on your mood at the time. And lets not forget the hammock which is soo relaxing.

Why they chose this property

We purchased this property because of convenience, but what we also learned is that we have great neighbors and a great neighborhood. The property is conveniently located in the quadrant of north Cape May that is only four blocks from the beach and basically one block to the ferry and very convenient access to/from Cape May off of Lincoln Blvd.

Also there are several nearby restaurants and a shopping center with ACME, Dollar Tree
(wife favorite), Big Lot, liquor store, etc are convenient located in the shopping center.

What makes this property unique

North Cape May is directly across from Cape May. The proximity of being close to Cape May without the hassle of parking, expensive weekly or daily rental and the difficulty of maneuvering around is something you don't have to deal with. If however, you want to Uber over to Cape May it is very easy to do. The beach at north Cape May is clean and not as crowded. Walking, riding, jogging is easy and effortless here.
