Alejandra's condo was a great place for me and a few friends to stay while skiing. It's one of many condos in the Discovery 4 community, which has a few nice public amenities. We were happy with the kitchen, beds, and projector and had a great time relaxing after a long day of skiing.FYI, the condo is about a 10-15 minute walk to Canyon Lodge, most of which is a fairly steep uphill section which can be pretty tiring.
Overall, the place was clean and was good for our short stay. The heated floors were great and my son loved the pac-man arcade game. However, the main bed is very hard. The upstairs shower was missing a door. The bus stop is very far if you want to go to Canyon Lodge. You really need to drive. The walk would be hard since it’s on a hill.
If you plan on walking to the nearest ski lift, be ware. The property is located at the near bottom of a steep hill. Walking up hill with a snowboard, snow gear and in snow boots was exhausting. I couldn't imagine trying to do it in ski boots or carrying a small child and/or his/her gear. This is coming from someone who is 48 and works out. If you want a workout before the workout, go for it. This condo is for you. Otherwise it's better if you take shuttle witch comes around every 15-20 minutes. Be ware that the walk down hill from the nearest lift is easier, but again, it would be a nightmare for a family in bad conditions or icy conditions. Otherwise, wait for the busy shuttle at the end of a long day. Other concern is that the stairs to the unit are slightly slanted. When wet or covered in snow, they can be a problem. Had a buddy slip down the stairs because one of the steps was slightly tilted downward.
The location was great, close to Canyon Lodge. The property was very clean and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed (though it could use a few more larger cups-only two available). Plenty of sheets and towels, but the water heater could only accomodate two showers before it needed some time to reheat. Our kids enjoyed staying in the loft and it was nice to have a second bathroom up there.
A bit of a hike from the VRBO to Canyon Lodge but very doable. The VRBO itself was excellent. Very clean. There were plenty of kitchen utensils and kitchenware you can use if you decide to cook. The host was very responsive. Would stay here again.
The place was centrally located which made for easy drives into town or the lakes. The kitchen is fully equipped and the kiddo enjoyed the loft bedroom.
It’s was such a great stay, cozy/ warm, felt great to come back and relax. They told us local places to go since we don’t come here that often. We will be straying here every time since we know the area now. The floor heater was a bonus.
Hard to beat the location - nearly walking distance to both the village, and the lakes & great scenery. The property was really nice as well - both the unit, and some of the amenities within the complex.
We go up to Mammoth every summer to bike, fish, hike, eat and drink. This place is super close to the village and was very convenient for my wife, my dog, and I. The host, Alejandra had was responsive to all our requests and offered a great place to stay with all the necessary amenities and more. I highly recommend staying here if you want access to to the village and all the lakes Mammoth has to offer.
This place was perfect for my family and dog to enjoy Mammoth Lakes. Is was clean, had all that we needed. Great communication from beginning to end. Thank you!
Alejandra's place is centrally located with easy access to the village and main lodge her place is walking distance to canyon lodge. There are many thoughtful details and a well laid out kitchen. Great walks around the neighborhood or up at the lakes. We thoroughly enjoyed out stay.
We enjoyed our stay at this property and it was perfect for our needs. We appreciated that it was dog friendly. Short drive to the slopes or well located for catching the frequent buses. Would happily stay again.
The pictures on Vrbo don’t do this condo justice. It’s a beautiful place and a perfect location. 2 minute drive to canyon lodge 5 minute drive to town and so close to lake Mary!! If ur undecided about a place to stay in mammoth stop looking u will not be disappointed. The couch is so big and comfy to get cozy by the fire, watch a movie or play wii. Comes stocked with everything u need. I can go on and on 10/10. Hopefully Alejandra will have us again in the future.
We loved our 4 night stay in Alejandra's cabin. The kitchen and bathrooms have been updated with a modern feel. All questions were answered quickly through the VRBO app. Small details of the cabin made our vacation so relaxing. The x-large couch is super cozy for fire-side naps. Strong wifi [wife was able to work from the cabin and not have to go to a coffee shop]. Dry skin, sinus issues and dry eyes was never experienced because of the industrial sized humidifier. Definitely going to see if this spot is available for our next Mammoth trip.

I am a 1st grade teacher in Santa Ana Unified School District. I have an Italian greyhound named Falcon. Love skiing, snowboarding and ice skating. I have great memories of my childhood up here in Mammoth. I always wanted to buy here and when we sold my mother's condo in Baja Ca I was able to buy this place. I hope to retire in the near future up here.
Why they chose this property
Discovery is located off of Lake Mary which is located near Canyon Lodge and near Twins Lake. Besides that you can walk to the Village. I like being out where you can see more of nature and the Lake Trail is awesome to have since you can walk or cycle to the Lakes or to town.
