The Best Beach Stay Ever

We just love this house and location and knew last year that we would be coming again! The views, layout, and access to the beach are perfect. Location has low traffic on beach and street which makes it especially nice for strolling or hanging. Everything was provided for and all we had to do was relax and enjoy! The owner truly has considered every detail with design and functionality to capture the ultimate beach experience. The house was immaculate and has plenty of towels, pillows, blankets, bathroom and kitchen supplies and more. The property manager, Christine, is great and always responds quickly with questions or needs (she gets 5 stars too)! The owner and property manager both strive to provide the best guest experience possible and is why we will be back a third year...and longer stay!

Never Disappointed!

My husband and I always look forward to our annual stay at Zen Escape and have never been disappointed! Beautiful decor, comfortable furnishings and the kitchen is well stocked. The new and extra touches are perfect. Take a second to check out the shutters with the NC silhouette. The location is ideal. Nothing beats entering an extremely clean rental and seeing the ocean immediately! Though the weather was uncooperative, our stay at Zen Escape was 5 stars!

Just Gorgeous

We stayed in February and can only express congrats to the owners who have gone above and beyond. (The hot tub was wonderful.) The view cannot be beat, the furniture is top notch and has a designer's touch, comfy beds, luxurious towels & sheets. Love the "pay-it-forward" - nice to have kitchen spices, foil wrap, etc already supplied. Loved it so much, we've already re-booked for another little slice of paradise!

Lovely Getaway

Not our first visit to the Zen Escape, its beautiful ocean view and welcoming interior is just part of the reason we came back. Our family had a “Coastal Christmas” this year. Would highly recommend this property.

Perfect Getaway

My family of four spent our Thanksgiving in this beautiful home. We were able to cook because all of the kitchen gear was there. We enjoyed the spa and card games they had on hand. Check in and communication was easy and responsive.

Excellent Stay

This is our second time at Zen Escape and our week was wonderful! We love that the home is within walking distance to several places, is stocked full of everything you need and is clean. Of course, the view is the best part of this place! We’ve stayed at several rentals at Topsail, this is one by far is the best. We hope to be back soon.

Perfect Getaway!

Home is so clean and inviting! They provide so much that it makes you feel at home and stress free! I wish all rental properties were this nice!!! Kitchen is well stocked, beds are comfortable, and linens are great quality. It is obvious the owners take pride in the house and it isn’t just a money maker. Lots of games and amenities to make your stay amazing. Pay it forward idea for the kitchen makes grocery shopping easy! This is a house you come to to truly relax!

This rental feels like visiting a close friends house and makes you feel right at home. My entire family loves the location, the beach access, the view from the porch of the sunrise and moon! This was our second stay and now my kids want to move to Surf City, but they will have to settle for another stay at the Zen Escape in the future.

We love the location because it is so close to the bridge for easy access on and off the island and just a few blocks from some of our favorite places but that part of the beach is always one of the least populated even in the busy summer months which is so nice. The house has everything you need which is great not to have to pack a bunch of stuff! We love sitting in the captains chairs on the back deck in the morning drinking coffee and in the evening drinking cocktails :) The owner and property manager are on top of everything so you never need to worry if an issue pops up because they take care of it immediately! We will definitely be back!!!

Zen Indeed!

With views that make you feel as if the water is directly beneath you and an oceanfront deck that allows you to take in the beauty and hear the ocean waves at all times, there is no way you won't feel zen here! The property itself had everything we needed and was very comfortable for our family of 5. It's close enough to the action of Surf City to be convenient but far enough to still feel the peace we crave on vacation. This was our dogs' first beach trip, and they were in heaven! The fencing beneath the house led to a convenient and worry-free experience when they were outside with us. We hope to return to this location in the near future as it was perfect for our family.

Great location

This home was in a quiet area and in between public access points so the beach area was not too crowded! The upstairs area was a nice size and beds were comfortable with ample drawer space. The view is incredible!

What A Peaceful Getaway!

This home was everything we had hoped for and more. Breathtaking views of the ocean, easy and direct beach access, more amenities and useful items (the abundant beach chairs and umbrellas were a particular hit) in the home than we could use, and OUTSTANDING service by those who handed the rental before and during our stay. And while Surf City itself is very crowded and touristy (which we weren't fans of), the beach front for this home and those around it wasn't, as there isn't really a close public beach access. So while at the house, we didn't feel like we were in a crowded, touristy destination at all! And by driving only 15-20 minutes North for meals or shopping, we escaped the crushing crowds. We spent every day relaxing on the beach and enjoying the ocean, and watching others surf, play games and make their own memories too! If you want a peaceful getaway with amazing and incredible views and beach access, and outstanding amenities and service, the Zen Escape is for you!

Perfect vacation home

This home welcomed my whole family including 2 furbabies. We had an amazing week! The views from inside and out were phenomenal. The house was immaculate and so many amenities. It was so nice to not have to pack everything! Everything is as pictured. The dog area was convenient for the pets and the gates kept this mom worry free all week, even though they were never left alone outside. We hope to return and make this an annual vacation!

Excellent Stay

We enjoyed staying at this house with our family so much! We were able to bring our 2 dogs and stay comfortably. The house we thought would be a little bigger according to the photos but the bottom outdoor space makes up for the smaller rooms and guest bathroom. The master bath was fabulous with a big open shower and double sink. The guest bath had 1 sink with a bunk bed room and a guest room. We were able to stay comfortably with 3 adults and 2 dogs. The property is right at the beach which was lovely for relaxing! The outdoor furniture is comfortable with a great view!

Well appointed beach spot

Cute, well appointed beach cabin. We enjoyed the thoughtful leave behind policy for the next guest as I always feel bad throwing away an almost full container of ketchup, etc. Location and view from living room was fabulous.

Hello, my name is Beata (rhymes with Miata) but you can call me Be. I've had "own a beach house" on my vision board since I was 30, and a few months before my 40th birthday my dreams came true and we bought our first beach home.

My husband and I are proud Penn Staters and currently live in Cary, NC with our two sons Leo (2006) and Dylan (2009), our two dogs and our 2 cats (don't worry, none of the cats will come to the beach house).

I am a licensed realtor in NC. My primary market is Cary/Apex/Raleigh and the surrounding towns. I also working with buyers looking for their own little slice of heaven on Topsail Island.

My father is a skilled carpenter and mason and my mother is a professional housekeeper and I have been running Handy Maven, a boutique remodeling firm in Baltimore for them since 2012. I have been flipping houses with my dad since I was 12. I can not wait to dive in and continue making upgrades and remodels to this already gorgeous, sturdy and well maintained home.

Before I left my corporate career to raise my boys, I was a Logistician for Procter & Gamble. My favorite assignment was leading the customer service team.

I am also a trained speaker, writer, and trainer. I LOVE leading retreats and leadership events. My goal is to be of service to you in any way that I can be.

What makes this property unique

Perfectly located so that everyone in your party is happy: we have the beach right in front of us and within a very short walk we have restaurants, shops, grocery, the fishing pier, a yoga studio, a book store, a spa, an organic grocer, a yoga studio, a coffee and smoothie shop, a church and so much more. Some thing for everyone without ever having to get in your car if you don't want to.

We will continue stocking our activity closet and will take requests from our guests.
