About this property

Rustic Cayuse Cabin - Remote Getaway

Cabin close to and surrounded by Helena National Forest, below the Continental Divide Trail, just off the Great Divide Mountain Bike Trail, MT hunting district 343, near Great Divide Ski area, situated midway between Glacier and Yellowstone parks, 35 miles from Helena, Missouri River, Canyon Ferry, Holter and Hauser Lakes, and Gates of the Mountains. Bring your hiking boots, mountain bike, rifle, ATV, snow shoes, XC skis, snowmobile, canoe or horse.

Rustic blue pine cabin with large front porch, lots of windows, fully equipped kitchen, dining area, comfortable living room with wood stove, bedroom with pillow top king bed, loft with 4 queen beds, full bath (with gray water tank), and lovable loo chamber pot and outhouse (that's the rustic part). Ladder access to loft. **Unsuitable for young children, but those 13 and older are welcome.** Max of 6 guests.

Cayuse Cabin is a perfect base camp for those planning outdoor activities - lots of hiking, skiing, horseback riding or ATV trails right out the door. Or just the place for a romantic weekend getaway any season. The cabin has a large front porch with seating, and a picnic table and propane grill beside the stream. An ample stack of firewood is available.

Cabin is 11 miles up a lousy forest service road, good tires are essential. AWD or 4WD required in winter. Please note - I have 2 large friendly dogs and sometimes 2 horses wandering around.

No extra cleaning fee. Sorry, no pets.

Great hunting location

This is a great off the beaten path cabin! Very good hunting near by, even a ski lodge within a 30 minute drive( Maryville) They have a horse that greets you daily, and super friendly dog. The cabin is very nice and VERY clean. Very comfy! The owner’s are super easy and extremely helpful. Everything you need is there.

Perfect getaway

The cabin was perfect. Amenities, kitchen, shower (this was sooo nice after a dusty trail ride and fishing) water pressure was great with ample hot water, the king bed was so comfortable after our 20 hour drive. The stay could not have been anymore perfect. My fiancé loved starting the fires in the wood burning fire place !

Perfect Holiday Getaway

Far enough from town to feel pleasantly isolated and close enough for day trips for sightseeing and snacks. The host was very helpful, especially when we got a flat tire. Glad the host was close by! The only negative is the lack of window coverings in the main living area but it appeared that this openess is normal in the Montana countryside. Overall it was a wonderful weekend.

Joane's place is wonderful. It is the ultimate peaceful retreat. The dog, the horses, the creek, and the wonderful host. We enjoyed staying there immensely and will hope to come back again. Joane was so welcoming and helpful. Wonderful place!

Amazing Experience!

We wish the time we had here was longer than we had booked for! Joane was a great host and made us feel right at home. We also loved her two dogs, Finn and Murphy. The cabin was perfect, and the scenery around it made for a great getaway. We hope to visit again in the future! 🌲

Cayuse Montain Cabin

I was impressed. The cabin was actually nicer when viewed in person. There were alot of extra features to the property that make this an attractive locale. The stream next to the cabin was beautiful. The host was very warm and knowledgeable about the area and that helped us feel comfortable. We hope to be able to make another visit.

Great Streamside Cabin Getaway Locale!

This lovely little cabin is situated within earshot of a lovely, clear stream. Joane was very responsive and hospitable--she even got the wood burning stove going before we arrived since there was a bit of a chill in the air. The cabin is clean and warm. A big perk of the property is that a huge, friendly, well-behaved, white dog named Murphy will come down and say hi from time to time. Thank you Joane for a great stay!

Our perfect FIRST vacation!

We searched for many destinations to experience our first vacation together. Montana offered so many beautiful and exciting adventures and activities. We could not have asked for a better host in Joane to make our trip unforgettable. We will without a doubt be back to see her soon!!!!!!!!😃 We loved every minute since we landed in Montana and staying here only made it better. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
