Historic Steiner cabin in the Mountain Air community. It was built in 1925 but it boasts everything a house in 2023 should have.
Located just a short walk down from the cabin is the Sandy River. There is a nice trail with a bench along the river, and sandy beaches that all provide plenty of places for you to fish or meditate and your dog to chill and enjoy the smells and scenery.
Just across the street is the Wildwood Recreation Day Use Site. It is located on the Salmon River.
It is the perfect place for any age!
Informational and historical plaques describe the ecosystems and local culture, and it features plenty of daytime waterfront picnic sites.
The highlight is the underwater viewing chamber where you can witness the mama salmon heading to their nesting grounds, and the baby fry just getting started out in life.
The park itself if ginormous and and has plenty of paved ADA trails for older adults. Biking trails are available as well. The boardwalk beaver wetlands that is full of red wing black birds is also a top favorite.
The property is a perfectly flat half acre with lots of 80-100 year old trees and 2 open lawn spaces on which to play badminton, volleyball, whiffle ball, fetch, etc.
The kitchen comes fully stocked and there is a Weber gas grill on the front deck, as well as outdoor dining furniture/dishes.
The bedding is cozy and luxurious on all the beds - a good night's sleep is important when you're adventuring.
One of the bedrooms is in the rec-room outbuilding, which also boasts a full bar, pool table, HDTV smart Samsung, new gaming systems, stereo, and a private courtyard with a fire pit and hot tub - this place was built for partying, to be honest. Great place for teens to have a good time with their friends as well!
There is wifi all over the property and the internet is blazing fast (google's words, not mine).
Wood pellet stoves in both buildings provide the coziness of a wood stove without any hassle of starting a fire yourself.
The location is excellent; in the summer time, it's a scenic walk down Wemme Trail or Mountain Air to get to the restaurant district in Welches; in the winter time, we are 13 miles from Ski Bowl, 20 miles to Timberline, and 25 miles to Mt Hood Meadows.
Mountain biking, snow shoeing, skiing, hiking, fishing, and mountaineering are some of the top activities in this area.
Sandy Ridge Bike Park is less than a 10 minute drive.
The house is close to the highway, but the trees are so dense that it is perfectly quiet in the house and outside it's muffled and just sounds windy during the busiest times.
The weekends are a bit louder since there is so much more traffic, but there is so much to do in the house’s immediate vicinity that finding peace and quiet is never challenging.
