Our stay was great. We had a few issues with the key, but our Host was very helpful. There was an issue with a leak in the bathroom and he corrected it promptly. The fridge was very small but the apartment was very comfortable, and the host was super accommodating. I'm sure we will stay there again.

Extraordinary Women Retreat

The stay was good. Space was large and the beds were comfortable. I wouldn't recommend the space for smaller children as wall decor might be scary for them. Great location for girls weekend or adult get away. There is not stove and only a small refrigerator. There is a toaster oven and microwave.

Lots of room! The twin beds could definitely use a new mattress as I could feel the springs. The daily deer visits were awesome! Necessities were covered and instructions and even dining suggestions were clear and concise. We had a nice time

Roomy retreat in a lovely and quiet neighborhood

While a little dated, everything was clean and as described. The beds and even sofas were quite comfortable. The hosts communicated well which made for a smooth transaction. There was a bit of a damp/musty smell we noticed upon entering (some of us more than others) but the hosts did have a dehumidifier running to apparently address it. Overall it was a very nice stay and I wish the weather had been cooler to enjoy the serene patio and back yard.

Beautiful apartment!

Nice, comfortable apartment. Plenty of room. We read reviews about the driveway to the back of the house...so we were prepared. We have a small car and were able to turn around but with a larger vehicle you may back to back out of the long drive.

Scary neighborhood, Scary and cold house

When we arrived, it was late afternoon on a cloudy cool day. There were no welcoming lights on inside or outside of the house. The steep driveway is bordered on one side by a ravine. It was scary getting up it, but then, at the top there was no place to turn around, so we had to back out of it. That was hard enough to do in the semi daylight, but we knew we never wanted to attempt it at night. the walkway to the house from the driveway was covered with wisteria vines, which were pretty , but pieces were hanging down, which , again if we had come in the dark could have been a bad thing. The inside of the house was dark and cold. I called the owner to ask him where the thermostat was so we could turn on the heat. he said the thermostat was upstairs and had to be operated by him. We were not comfortable with that arrangement. We turned around and left and had to go rent a hotel for three nights of our conference. Owner was defensive when I sighted our reasons for not staying there.

Nice apartment and wonderful patio

Nice and spacious apartment. Two large bedrooms, one with a two persons bed and one with to single beds. Enough places to sit inside, a table with chairs, a desk, and a lovely outside patio, that makes you feel part of nature. The owner was a very kind man. We enjoyed talking to him even though we didn't see him a lot. He values your privacy, yet is an interesting person to have a chat with. Basic kitchen, no stove or so, but that didn't bother us since we went out for dinner all the time.

College Move-In Week

With the surrounding hotels price gouging for move-in week, it was nice to find this VRBO at a reasonable price. It's very comfortable, spacious and quiet, with a lovely backyard view. Convenient to downtown and surrounding Lynchburg area - easy check in and out and great communication for any questions you might have!

Eclectic & Cozy Charm

Basement apartment was easy to access with privacy more than most hotels. A truly great get away in a charming surrounding. Wife even watched deer walking through the yard while making a cup of coffee one morning. Apartment is furnished with varied paintings, old photos, wall quilt and African type mask carvings. A full book case is provided for all types of readers. The apartment was perfect for this retired couple seeking a new adventure along with plenty of relaxing downtime. No oven or stove is available, but what 70 yr old couple cooks on vacation anyway. Eating in is as easy as creating a healthy charcuterie spread from the local Kroger. Many thanks to our VRBO hosts for the moderately priced home away from home!

This is lovely spot in a very nice neighborhood in Lynchburg.

Our arrival was easy. The keys were in the lock box with clear instructions on how to get in and clear instructions on how to leave. This is a cozy little basement apartment. It is charming with it’s gas fireplace and well appointed with eclectic art work, great books, and so forth. Very homey! We would stay here again.
