About this property

A Unique Holiday Villa With Private Pool, Close To Beaches In A Rural Setting

The Villa is fully licensed with the local government agency in Vila Do Bispo. Our house is full of light and open spaces with large terraces on two levels. Surrounded by trees with a fabulous garden and long wooded lot (3,600 square meters), enjoy morning coffee and a late night glass of wine in the privacy of nature. We have a couples bedroom with en suite bath and an upstairs bedroom with twin beds and adjoining bath and shower. There is a living space upstairs that can accommodate sleeping for one person, a space for morning exercise or a play area of kids. The pool is large enough for lap swimming and there is a outdoor kitchen and grill. If possible, we prefer to rent weekend to weekend. You can view the property location and get a sense of its character on the map location function. UPDATE: The discotheque property which was about 100 meters from the house and only operated in August has been sold and will no longer be in operation! We are advised it will be redeveloped as a residential property at some time in the future. No more disco!

Leuk huis beetje gedateerd
Huis is in orde maar beetje gedateerd hier en daar. Uitrusting vd. keuken kan beter (bv. geen microgolf). Leuk groot zwembad. Rustig gelegen. Vlakbij centrum. 5e bedje was een bijzet, klein en harde matras. Leuk verblijf voor 4 personen.

Lovely villa
The villa was very light and airy and very clean and well equipped. We were looking for a week of total relaxation and that is what we experienced except on our first night where we had no sleep due to the noise from a disco approx 50m away. Thankfully it was only one night as the music started at midnight and finished at 7.30 in the morning. ( the owner had advised of a disco which ran from end of July through August ) The villa was within close proximity of restaurants and a large supermarket and also some lovely beaches. Sagres has a welcoming breeze in the heat of the day. Would definitely visit again.

Great house for a nice retreat
Beautiful house, very well maintained, has everything in the kitchen for cooking, very private garden. We weren’t bother by dogs barking like I had read from previous reviews. We barely heard the dogs one night at quite a distance. Not an issue at all. Since we rented in August, owner warned us of a nightclub opening in August only. But it was not an issue either. Would recommend the house for sure.

Absolutely beautiful villa
We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing stay at David’s villa. The villa and gardens are beautiful and huge so even though it was only a 5 minute walk to the main road it felt secluded and private. Supermarket is nearby and so are the beaches. Easy to get to everywhere. The little supplies such as olive oil and pasata were a thoughtful touch. All toilets had toilet paper and soap, again very thoughtful. Thomas’s the neighbour who checked us in and have us his phone number so was only a call away. The weather was particularly windy the week we were there and when the wind is not so strong it’s a pleasant relief from the heat, but we are looking forward to returning to the same villa in the near future. I would like to thank David and Thomas for doing everything to make our stay comfortable and wonderful.

It was just great, it was perfect for us.
We had a fabulous time at this property. We were looking for somewhere away from the package tourist destinations and we certainly found it here! David is a great host. Thomas and Daniela (neighbours) are wonderful and charming. The house is modern and spacious. We loved it and we went to a different beach every day. The pool was fresh and refreshing, which was just great for us. Cant think of any negatives which impacted is in any way. Lots of local restuarants within walking distance. Thoroughly recommend.and we can't wait to return! Family of 4, children 15 and 7.

Paradise come true
David‘s house is a real paradise come true. The houses architecture is generous and opens up through the huge windows to the garden. The house itself is perfectly equipped with everything you ever might need. The pool is big and warm and was very popular by our kids. From the upper floor you have a beautiful panoramic view over all Sagres and surrounding. The terrasses offer good protection against the sometimes cold northern wind. We enjoyed the property this much that we didn’t leave it for some days and were completely satisfied! Maybe one of the best houses we ever had. Very much to be recommended!

Anything you need for a lovely family trip is in the house
Rental preparation and handover at the house was very nice and easy. Kitchen is well equipped, pool toys and towels, laundry and dryer and even beach toys are already in the house! There is a nice restaurant in walking distance and the supermarket is not even a 5 minute ride away. Beaches are close by and fun to explore. Unfortunately our Daughter got really sick so we could not enjoy the area as much but the more we were thankful for a nice house to stay and take care of her!

Schönes Haus aber mit 2 Minuspunkten
Das Haus bietet viel Platz mit einem schönen Pool und einem großen Grundstück. Leider kann man - Minuspunkt 1- im unteren Schlafzimmer kein Fenster öffnen und es gibt keinen Sonnenschutz! Der zweite Minuspunkt sind die Hunde in der Umgebung. Ab ca. 16.30 wird stundenlang gekläfft, teilweise bis in die Nacht. Da nützt einem auch die Lage außerhalb und das große Grundstück nicht. Es sei denn, man liebt bellende und jaulende Hunde. Dann ist man hier genau richtig.

perfect villa for our stay
For us, this was the perfect villa! We were 4 adults who needed a little more luxurious house after tough days at the surf course ... It was wonderful to come home to this house with pool and beautiful terraces! We cooked a lot of food ourselves in the kitchen and everything worked well. Everything also worked very well with the Portuges contactperson, the neighbor. And the cleaning staff were super nice!

lovely house
Modern house with good amenities. The pool was nice in the heat. Quite a few dogs around the neighborhood barking every night. We walked to the coast and town and also had a car. We were two couples, so twin beds and queen bed in the two bedroom should be noted. Several patios for lounging with comfortable furniture. This is a pretty laid back part of the Algarve which we enjoyed. Good restaurants in town. Didn't use the TV. Internet speed was adequate with 2 people on at a time.

Perfect
We spent 2 weeks in August in David’s amazing villa. It was one of our best family holidays we ever had. The house is really inspiring, very spacious, very light and although the sun is always shining it doesn’t get too warm inside. The palms in the garden create a great vacation atmosphere and the pool is very clean, the water is a little bit cold (because the weather was not too warm this time in August), but it was a pleasure to swim each morning. Everything is like you can see it on the photos or even better. Sagres is a great place to be. You find great beaches, good restaurants and bars and it is still far away from the big touristic areas in the Algarve. We are sure, that we will return. Thank you, David for giving us the opportunity to live in your villa.

Stunning!
We had a wonderful holiday in Sagres. The villa was spacious, light and airy, with everything you could need for a comfortable stay. The best we've ever stayed in! The booking process and check-in/out went very smoothly. Sagres is a lovely, laid-back place. The beaches were quiet and had good facilities. There were some really good bars and restaurants nearby. Would definitely recommend this villa!

Wonderful time in Sagres
We had a wonderful time in Sagres. It was one of our best ever family holidays, the house is very nice (light, airy, spacious and amazing)! Every room was a good size and the whole villa was spotless.The pool was a great size and we like the garden and the terrace. The organization with the housekeeper was perfect. Thank you for that. We would appreciate to return in the next years.

We are an American couple who have been coming to Sagres every year for 20 years. We worked and saved to buy or build a home. We bought this land in 2004 and built the house in 2009-2011. We stayed here for 2 1/2 years to landscape the property ourselves (a work in progress), add finishing touches and enjoy some time off from our adult responsibilities. We want to rent for part of the year and use for family the rest. We hope to rent to adults and families who will respect our special home and enjoy the lure of Sagres.

Why they chose this property

We think the location of our house is special. Most of Sagres does not have alot of trees or wooded plots. When we discovered this plot we fell in love with it because it had so much vegetation and was on edge of town. We come from rural America and loved the open spaces to the north and the fact that it is bordered by the Natural Park. We love it when the sheep herders bring their goats and sheep to graze on the adjoining proprty and up the hill. We can walk for hours in the park and forest without seeing anyone. At the same time, it is a 20 minute walk to the town center and the nearby beaches (for me 5 minutes by bike). The grocery store is just a 10 minute walk. UPDATE: Until September of 2019, there had been a discotheque about 100 meters from the house which only operated from late July through August. This property has now been sold. We are advised that it will be redeveloped into a residential property at some point in the future. The discotheque will no longer be operated!!

What makes this property unique

Our house is not secluded and completely private. We have neighbours, including an older couple who still live on a small farm plot. You can view it on the satellite mapping function (gps is 37° 1'11.23"N 8°56'37.15"W) . But for the most part this is somewhat unique in the Sagres area. It sits up on a hill with views over the village of Sagres toward the coast. Given the large wooded lot and our garden, it offers privacy and the comfort of nature. The night skies are black with brilliant stars and planets. Bring a guide to constellations.
