About this property

In the Mas des Pampres, Provence is at your fingertips

It is nested close to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, one of France's prettiest villages (12 km away, 10 min), in Cabannes, a small Provencal village. The farmhouse enjoys a choice position to visit the Alpilles and Luberon — two listed Regional Natural Park areas —, tour the Arles towns brimming with historical and medieval monuments, Nimes, and Avignon

It is in a great geographical location 20 minutes away from Avignon TGV train station, five minutes from the A 7 motorway, seven minutes from Avignon Airport, and 45 minutes from Marseille International Airport. You can reach the surroundings with ease.

Set in Provence among it sweet scents, the Provencal farmhouse is designed to leave you with wonderful memories. It is a privileged space, far from onlookers, that offers your complete privacy.
Mas des Pampres is a listed 4-star tourist accommodation.
This declaration guarantees a certain level of comfort and amenities for wonderful holidays.
Everyone can find their own space in this large lodging of around 400-sq.m.
Sitting in the middle of the village, it is a charming cocoon, a family home, a heritage.
We are fond of Provence and its culture.
A family member, Léopold Vidau, a writer of prose in the Provencal dialect and Provencal poet was a friend to Frédéric Mistral, author whose most note-worthy works are "Histoire de Cabannes", "Entre Durance Alpilles", and more besides. This is definite proof of our Provencal roots.
Under the Provencal sun, you really feel the property's authentic nature, serenity, and peace. It is an assured, simple sort of beauty.

You can go shopping without a car. The basic shops are nearby. Come and stay in the heart of a village sitting on the doorstep of the countryside.

Young and old can come together to explore the small cabin, the famous, fully shaded boules court take a refreshing dip in the swimming pool in the summer, or take a nap on the terrace to the sound of the chirping cicadas in the hundred-year-old plane trees.
You can take cooking classes from a chef with lessons for children in the farmhouse's kitchen.
In addition, the owner can arrange the following services subject to a fee: hairdressing, aesthetic treatments, massage, and more besides.
It is available in the farmhouse, in addition to the horse riding lessons by the hour or day in the village.

Beautiful villa
Mas des Pampers is a stunning property in the centre of Cabannes only a few minutes walk from the boulangerie and épicerie and other shops and 10 mins walk from a great well stocked supermarket. The house has lots of character and a great pool area - just like in the photos. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed including tea, coffee oils spices and every appliance you could possibly want and the owners were so lovely in leaving us some fruit and sweets from the region on our welcome, along with a few bottles of rosé. The beds were comfy and the place was so clean! AC in every room. It is very well set up for large groups. The house seems to be geared towards groups of families with lots of toys, bikes and a trampoline. We had an amazing stay. One thing to note is that the owners live next door and came round a few times unannounced to check on things outside of the agreed 07:30 garden and pool maintenance check. The owners are really friendly but we felt this impacted privacy expectations given the description and photos, but they did go away for most of the week so this did not impact significantly on our stay. Would definitely go again for a week with family and it is well located to explore Surrounding towns and attractions of Provence. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Exceeded all expectations
We spent a month at this beautiful family home and it will be a treasured memory for the rest of our lives. We had family and good friends join us for different weeks during our month and everyone was impressed with the kids play area, media room and space. The kitchen allowed us to stay in and cook some amazing meals and we loved having Laure come and do a cooking class with us - a highlight along with Ellodie coming to tutor our son, she was very good. Mirelle is a wonderful host, responsive and even though I speak no French we made it work and her kindness in looking after 7 children one night so we could all go out was so appreciated along organising for the children to go on a pony ride when the club was not open. The small touches like with the wine, juices were lovely and we already miss the cycle rides for the morning bread and relaxing by the pool. Thank you for an amazing month - the highlight of our four months away. Thank you Mirelle & Pierre

Best house we have ever rented!
We have rented many, many houses and this mansion in Provence was off the charts gorgeous. The bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, pool, outdoor play area, etc could not be beat. The hosts are warm and friendly even though I speak no French and they speak no English. Google translate came in handy. The town is very close to many well known Provençal towns but there is a large grocery in Cabannes. This house is perfect for a large family or a large group of friends. We all loved every minute of our week there and would not hesitate to rent it again.

This was a trip of a lifetime
We were so happy to be here. The top six things to know about this house is: 1. The house is really well maintained and exceptionally clean as promised. 2. The house is conveniently located. You can get to Avignon, Alres, Luberon, St. Remy, etc. quickly. 3. The new greenway bike trail is very cool! 22 KM path to explore at your own pace. 4. The walls and gate make the house very private. The pool during the warm months would be a great respite. 5. There is plenty of room to spread out! We had 11 people and did not feel crowded at all. We were all able to fit at the dining room table without any trouble at all. 6. The kitchen is fully equipped for serious culinary craft. We cooked almost every day and wanted for nothing. Side suggestion: go truffle hunting and bring them back to create a feast! We can not wait to go back!!

Great family villa
I spent a week in Mireille's beautiful traditional property in Cabannes along with extended family that included one child of 3 and two babies under 1. The property is very well equipped for kids with everything you need - changing mats, separate washing facilities, cots, etc. There is also a climbing frame, swing, trampoline and numerous go-karts and bikes. The pool is not too deep with a large shallow area at one end. The images of the property are accurate and the grounds are large, secluded and secure. I would strongly recommend this as a place to stay with young children or as an adult group. Cabannes itself is sleepy but there is a boulangerie around the corner and plenty of attractions are within 30 minutes drive. The local cycling network has also been completed recently and is great for exploring the area.

Stunning! Perfection!
This property is simply amazing. It is so beautiful and relaxed at the same time. Attention to detail is everywhere! Our stay could not have been more comfortable. It was like living a dream. The owners are beautiful people who warmly welcomed and provided some beverages, wine, fresh fruit, and other assortments to get us started. It was dream-like! The grounds are gorgeous too. Cabannes itself doesnt have much, but it is a short drive to Gordes, L’isle sur la Sorgue, Avignon and more. Don’t hesitate—THIS is the french dream home retreat you want!

Comfort in Cabannes
Our group of 6 adults spent a week during mid October at Mas des Pampres, a fabulous property in Provence. The very large, comfortably furnished home with large, private, walled grounds provided the perfect setting for enjoying the nearby towns and countryside. Being mid/late October we were not able to take advantage of the pool, even though the weather was warmer than expected, as it was already covered for the season. I’m sure in the summer months it would be a certain asset, and would be an enjoyable place to hang out. The kitchen was a chef’s delight, with every item you could possibly need, and ample service for a very large group. The property had indoor and outdoor dining furniture that would seat a very large group. Cabannes had a grocery store with suitable supplies. We enjoyed cooking, the great local bakery very near the home, arranged for an in-house chef for a special evening and exploring in several directions to Chateauneuf du Pape, St-Remy-de-Provence, L’Isle sur-la-Sorgue, Cassis, Aix en Provence, Chateauneuf-de-Gadagne, and Eyguieres. The hosts were friendly, attentive to our needs when asked and easy to work with. We enjoyed our stay and recommend Mas des Pampres!

Worth the wait!
We started the process in 2019 but due to Covid, it was not until 2022 that we finally made the trip over. It was worth the wait, as the house was perfect for the 5 couples that stayed there. We made dinner every night in a very well provided for kitchen and ate outside at one of the many large dining tables. The house itself is very well appointed and tastefully decorated with lots of room for the 10 of us. The large property was great for late afternoon dips in the pool and games of boules. Although we did not have any children with us, they would have loved the property as well, as there were lots of areas to explore. Mireille and her husband stayed in a separate area on the property and responded quickly to the few minor issues we had, but otherwise we had complete privacy. I would not hesitate to recommend this property and the hosts.

A Stay That Exceeded All Expectations!
Mas des Pampres was simply amazing. The rooms were spacious, very nicely furnished, beds were very comfortable, the kitchen amazingly stocked and dish ware for every possible occasion. There was seating for 15 in the dining room, living room and several outdoor seating areas. The pool was heated, cleaned and very enjoyable. The setting was amazing; close to the center of town yet very peaceful with the added plus of birds and an occasional owl to be heard. The kitchen was amazingly well equipped. We hired a chef to come to make dinner one evening and even he was blown away by the amount and variety of pots, pans, and serving platters. The owners had stocked several types of coffees and even had three different types of coffee makers. The owners are a lovely couple that were there to greet us and give us a tour. They were easily accessible during our stay and very helpful. They seemed to be well respected in the town and every time a store owner realized where we were staying they went out of there way to be friendly and accommodating. In sum, our week's stay was superb in every way. I would highly recommend Mas des Pampres to any group or family looking for a luxurious and delightful stay in Provence!

Idyllic Location
I recently stayed at the property with 5 friends for a Mom/Daughter trip and the property exceeded our expectations. I have rented properties in Provence for the last 5 years and Mas de Pampres is on the short list. It is probably the best equipped house I have stayed at- especially for families. the location to A7 and the quaint town of Cabannes is wonderful. Even though you are in town the property feels like a secluded country estate. Kitchen was great and exceptionally equipped as we like to cook. Breakfast Bar made our mornings... Can't say emough! Simply Idyllic
Even after pouring over the gushing reviews, beautiful photographs, and five-star ratings, my family of 13 and I were simply awestruck by Mas des Pampres. Everything — the lovely approach and lush grounds; clean, spare, whitewashed rooms; modern, streamlined bathrooms; ample crisp linens; numerous indoor and outdoor gathering spaces; well-stocked kitchen; friendly hens; sparkling pool; shady cabana; and talented local chef — just everything about this magical place exceeded our very high expectations! To add to this perfection, we were within easy reach of Avignon, Saint Rémy, and Aix-en-Provence. Our week at Mas des Pampres was simply idyllic.

A Magnificent Stay
There is a certain level of anxiety that goes with traveling, especially when compounded by being in a foreign country, not speaking the language well, and being the person responsible for booking a trip with a number of friends and family members. The moment we drove up to Mas des Pampres, we knew that all of the research and planning had paid off. Overall, the house is well-stocked with every imaginable type of dish, glass, utensil, kitchen tool and so much more. But that is barely a fit description. Every item you could imagine needing is immediately on hand, exactly where you would want it to be. Is there a hair dryer? Sure, it’s in the drawer underneath the sink. Where are the specific style glasses for various aperitifs and digestifs? In the bar, right above the liquor cabinet, which was filled from what imagine to be a collection of the remnants left by former renters. The entire house conveys a feeling of both history and modern convenience simultaneously. The plaster walls, stone steps, beam ceilings and tile floors seem to be remnants of the 19th century, while the fixtures electronics and appliances are all straight from the 21st. Commercial refrigerators and freezers, a powerful stovetop and oven, every conceivable small appliance, a Kitchen Aid with every attachment imaginable, tools, knives, mortar and pestle. The list can keep going. But more important than the actual items in the kitchen, is the way they are organized and stored. Like the rest of the house, everything is exactly where it should be. You stand next to the stove and wonder where to find a pot holder. There’s a drawer at eye level just to the left – of course that’s where to find it. The outdoor living is equally as impressive. The pool is temperature controlled, chest deep but with a deck and steps making it perfect for families to lounge. The adjacent pool house is outfitted with lounges, towels, toys and more. Overall, every comfort, every tool, every desire can be filled at this house. This was the best vacation experience I have ever had. The site is so well-located; you are steps from the heart of town and a 20-minute drive to some of the best local destinations, including St. Remy, L’Isle-sur-la-Sourge, Chateaurenard, Cavaillon and more. This place is a masterpiece, and it is ideal for a large gathering. There are so many little nooks and so much indoor and outdoor space that you could not possibly feel like you were crowded. Go. Enjoy yourselves.

Magical location in the heart of Provence.
I cannot say enough about this wonderful property owned by Mirelle and Pierre in the heart of Provence. We traveled with 6 adults and 4 children and there was plenty of room to spare. The house is equipped with every item you could possibly need - and more. You can tell that the Taton family has used and loved this home because there is thoughtfulness in every single item in the house. We traveled during a particularly hot week and we were grateful to have the air conditioning and pool We were greeted by a basket of delectable local apricots, local juice and wine. What a treat! The house is so well suited for large groups. Every member of your party will find privacy and comfort in this home. My 3 year old daughter particularly loved going out to the chicken coop to check for eggs each morning (which we were free to eat). The older boys (10) loved the pool, sports equipment, and movie room. We also had a 6 month old baby and there were wonderful amenities including a changing table on each floor and a baby bath. We cooked quite a bit in the home. This is the most well-equipped kitchen you will ever encounter. We made a fabulous bouillabaisse after a trip to Cassis and the kitchen amazingly had a huge mortar and pestle for making the classic rouille! What a treat. The location is also ideal. We used Mas de Pampres as a home base and made day trips to the coastline and also the beautiful locations nearby (30 mins to Chateauneuf de Pape etc.). The little town of Cabannes is charming and just a block away. There is a fabulous butcher, restaurant, and boulangerie. The grocery store is very convenient. This is by far the best vacation rental we have ever experienced. I can't say enough about the wonderful property and the fabulous hosts. Look no farther for your trip to Provence!

Magical Week at Mas des Pampres
Having just returned from a magical week at the Mas des Pampres, I have extremely high marks for this property. Upon arrival the hosts explained everything about the house—while it was all done in French, we could understand enough being Americans with a little knowledge of French. After all we had brought our grandchildren to immerse them in a week of French culture and that we did! This house is like an oasis —the pool, expertly maintained complete with paddle boards and noodles, the ping pong table with lots of balls and paddles, and the garden, a beautiful sight from our bedroom window. Many towns are a 20-30 minute easy drive from the house; the grocery store, pharmacy, poste, boulangerie, all an easy walk. Having once run a beach rental house, I know how hard it is to get everything just right for arriving visitors. Well, the Tatons succeeded in every way—an abundance of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags, coffee (reg and decaf), delicious wine on arrival. The fully stocked kitchen was well used by our wonderful chef Laure (recommended by Mireille) as well as ourselves having procured market items from nearby towns. While the Tatons were away for most of the week, they left phone numbers to be reached if we had any questions. One of the highlights with our young granddaughters was to check the chicken coup each morning to see how many eggs were left during the night and then have them for breakfast. Each bedroom has an incredibly comfortable bed and most with a large bathroom with large shower. One of the things I look for when traveling is that the hotel/ house must be as good as what I left at home and the Mas des Pampres was that and more. It’s a beautiful old house that’s been redone inside for modern comforts. Another factor in selecting this house was the proximity to the town—it was important to be able to walk into town rather than to drive everywhere. It is obvious that the Tatons pay great attention to detail to ensure that guests will enjoy their stay to the fullest.

Perfect house with everything you could think of
We were two families consisting of three generations coming from the UK and South Africa. This house is perfect for families. A wonderful pool, playground, playroom - Madame and Monsieur Taton have thought of everything. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the house is clean, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. It’s fantastically located with so much to do in the area - although the house and grounds are so great you may just want to relax there! We wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you for a perfect holiday.

Perfect week in Provence
Driving into to the property along the tree-lined drive you know you're in for a special stay and this is truly a wonderful home. 14 adults spent a lovely week here and were sad to leave! Given how large yet secluded the grounds are, it's amazing to think you can walk to the village shops for fresh bread every morning and enjoy breakfast on one of the many outside dining areas while the chickens peck at the undergrowth nearby! Mireille and Pierre are close at hand for any assistance and really made us feel welcome in their family home before leaving us to our own devices. There are many wonderful amenities throughout the house and grounds to keep everyone happy, the kitchen is a chef's dream and the whole of the inside is decorated beautifully. I would recommend the property to anyone in a heartbeat. Thanks for a lovely stay!

About the host

Hosted by Mireille Taton

Host profile image
Former tree-growing specialists growing apples, peaches, and peaches, we are now retired, and would be honoured to welcome you to our home.
This is why we decided to make our family Provencal farmhouse into a rental cottage.
We enjoy hosting, and family life. We hope that you'll feel at home here.

Why they chose this property

We love Provence as it's where our roots are.

Our ancestors built the Provencal farmhouse in 1880 and it has been in the family ever since.
An ancestor, Léopold Vidau, a writer of prose in the Provencal dialect was a close friend of Frédéric Mistral, author whose most note-worthy works are "Histoire de Cabannes", tracing the area's origins from antiquity up to 1913, and "Entre Durance Alpilles" a book of Provencal poetry.
Under the Provencal sun, you really feel the property's authentic nature, its serenity, and peace. It is an assured, simple sort of beauty.

What makes this property unique

The farmhouse is on a leafy, 5,000-sq.m plot that is fully fenced and in the centre of Cannes. This small Provencal village is close to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

It has three storeys and a surface area of around 400 sq.m.
The professional kitchen offers a 1,200-L fridge, a freezer with a capacity of 600 L,
