Had a great stay in space that easily hosted family for holiday dinners. Kitchen is well-equipped and a pleasure in which to cook. Beaches and further ocean views <1 minute walk in any direction. Fireplace was welcome on cold nights and on warmer days we had morning coffee and hot chocolate on the back porch. The beaches are splendid in the winter months and appear to be a great place to swim or boat when warmer. Hosts provided a lot of useful information on the area and were responsive. Hope we may have time to spend there again!
Barefeet Retreat has plenty of room for extended family. We stayed for a week in the beginning of October. The house is sparkling clean and loaded with amenities. We loved staying there and will stay again if we can gather everyone together. Four bathrooms!! Privacy for all! The master bedroom was a dream. You are close to everything on the cape, but it feels like your own little island. A short walk to the beach, too. Overall, it was a dream come true!!
Our family was able to spread out and enjoy this large, clean, comfortably furnished home in a beautiful, quiet waterside neighborhood. There was everything we needed and more — well-appointed bedrooms, kitchen, baths, living/great room, laundry; attractive yard and lovely surrounding streets for morning walks. All was neat and clean and we felt very much at home. Five stars! Great find!
The place was big and spacious. We bought our Apple TV to use in the great family room. The tv was a good size. The back yard and deck was cozy and the grill was great to have.
I recommend you get your groceries in town and not at the local store (alcohol and snack) but I hear their sandwiches are good.
The place had a air conditioner except for the downstairs bedrooms. That was a little problem because I old and like the room cold when I sleep.
Management was helpful and very customer friendly.
We started out later than we had intended. We were told that the property was to be unlocked and that the owner was traveling the day of our arrival. We arrived after dark and the neighborhood was quite dark as well. Unfortunately the doors were all locked. Luckily I remembered reading in info about a key on a shelf in the shed but it was very dark. I remembered that my phone had a flashlight feature and I found the key. The house is gorgeous like a new construction. I am thankful to have such a beautifully decorated home for rent esp. with the little dogs. We ate deliciously at the Daniel Webster Inn. Wonderful French onion soup and filet mignon. Worth the drive. Just an FYI, a restaurant recommended by the host was he Chartroom which we drove around looking for but it turns out is was closed for the season. Looking forward to revisiting in the summer and trying it then. Loved having so many bathrooms especially traveling with elderly relative. There was no dishwasher detergent but we picked it up at the Gray Gables Little Market. This is a very convenient stop with GREAT coffee and cuts of beef as well as great sandwiches. As one would expect from a small neighborhood store that the prices are above that of a large supermarket. Had to buy a lottery ticket so I could hopefully win and purchase my own property in Bourne. Highly recommend this property. The deck and backyard would be lovely in the warm months.
Staying at Barefeet Retreat was the highlight of my time on Cape Cod. Ronda is a wonderful host who knows how to make a temporary home for travelers, knowing that it will be remembered as the best part of the vacation. The spacious and immaculately clean house is located in a great, quiet, little neighborhood a few minutes from the Bourne Bridge -- perfect for day trips both on the Cape and elsewhere in New England. The house is outfitted with comfortable furniture, bedding, towels, kitchen equipment and utensils, everything you might need; my little group wanted for nothing. I was fortunate in that mine was an extended stay; during that time Ronda checked on me periodically to make sure all was well and kept me abreast of regional power restoration efforts after a big nor'easter adventure and made sure I had what I needed during the brief outage. I cannot say enough good things about Barefeet Retreat! I hope to be able to come again in the near future.
My family and I had such a great week. Super clean and comfortable house. The location was absolutely perfect for a quiet get away with the family. Can’t wait to stay here again next year! Communication with Rhonda was great also. Overall a wonderful experience.
Ronda was super accommodating and responded to any questions asap. The house was stocked with all sorts of helpful things; s&p, foil, oil, soaps/ shampoos.
The house is big and very comfotable. It needs some light bulbs changed, otherwise it is wonderful. The neighborhood is small and very friendly. We had a fantastic time.
My family of six stayed at Ronda's house for memorial day weekend, and despite some record cold temperatures and it being wet all weekend, we were happy to be inside and comfortable in the home. The home is extremely comfortable, and we loved having the kitchen quite well stocked to get us through the weekend. Ronda was prompt in all the communication, and even came by herself to replace a few burnt out lights on the day we checked in. The location is excellent, and if the weather had been better we would definitely have enjoyed the private beach to the fullest.
The only negative about this trip was the rainy weather however it kept us indoors which gave us more of an opportunity to catch up, especially with grandma who was secretly happy because we would have been at the beach all day! I liked the local market-very convenient! I ran along the dam -wonderful views!
The amenities were fantastic and Rhonda was very accommodating!
Thank you!!
The property was wonderful, the house was clean and easy to find. The neighbors were great and full of suggestions on places to go. It was very quiet and peaceful. We loved it.
If you are looking for a super clean, modern house with comfortable beds and open community space then you will find it here. The house AC works really well. The washer and dryer are new and perfect for drying wet beach towels. There are plenty of comfortable chair and couch options plus it's easy to function in the well stocked kitchen. We were on a ladies retreat week and found plenty to do in the neighborhood of friendly locals and lots of options in the general area to explore. We spent alittle of each day at the local beach and it's a rocky/shell filled shore so bring beach shoes. Although the host left beach shoes to borrow, games and toys and bikes and chairs to borrow and cold water bottles . I nominate Rhonda as a * SUPER* host. ( I don't know how you get that designation on this website but it really was one of the best situations we've had the pleasure to enjoy)
This rental home was outstanding. A perfect location and the home was extremely clean and well stocked with the necessary to make our stay comfortable. The owner was always there to answer any of our questions. I highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Barefeet Retreat. The house is spacious, comfortable, and very well-equipped. It is situated within walking distance to a very nice beach, and also makes a great home base to explore other areas of the Cape. We enjoyed the tennis courts at Monument Beach, which have great water views and Becky’s Bakery for iced coffee nearby. Ronda was very accommodating and easy to correspond with, and she made sure we had everything we needed for a wonderful, relaxing week. We highly recommend Barefeet Retreat!
We had a terrific stay at Barefeet Retreat. The home was immaculate and ready for our arrival. The home owner, Ronda, was a pleasure to communicate with and helped us feel welcomed.
Our family enjoys cooking so the well outfitted kitchen and BBQ was great. This was our first Homeaway experience and would enjoy staying here again. Thanks!
We stayed at Rhonda's house over Memorial Day Weekend. It was easy to get to from Boston, was within walking distance from the beach, very clean, had a nice backyard and big enough inside for all of us and a dog. We already talked about going back next year!
