This is a shared home with the owner on site in a private suite on the third floor. There is one other guest room on the main floor. The bathroom is shared with the one other guest room. Comfortable and quiet home located down a country road. Great location close to downtown shops, restaurants, ferry landing, beaches and buses. Guests have access to all common areas: living/dining room, bathroom, kitchen, decks. Enjoy the Vineyard!

Perfect VRBO

Everything was wonderful! Nancy and her sweet Puppette were so gracious! We were celebrating our 40th anniversary, and she offered to tour us all around Martha’s Vineyard at a very reasonable rate. We Ubered to and from airport and walked everywhere in Vineyard Haven (great shops and eateries). Loved our stay here!

Great house- spacious room but be aware NO AC

Our stay was really pleasant. Nancy and Poppet were a delight to converse with. The place is super clean. We had the kitchen and tv room to ourselves. We didn’t cook but were able to use the coffee maker and microwave. The only inconvenience was the AC. We had to use fans to cool ourselves at night granted we had hot weather when we got there but cooler nights. Everything else was nice.

Quick trip

We were on MV for a wedding so we just slept @ the house. However, I could see where it would be a nice place to spend time. Lots of outdoor spaces to enjoy both on decks & in the yard. We shared the space with people we had never met before who appeared very nice and respectful of the shared property. I think there is a certain type of person who books shared spaces. This would be particularly great if both parties knew each other.

Great stay

Nancy was a super friendly host. The property is in walking distance to vineyard haven as well. Although Nancy was there, we felt a lot of privacy during our stay and would recommend it. Beautiful home!

Tranquility

Just five minutes from town secluded in a rural heavily wooded lovely setting in nature. The large outside deck provided a perfect setting for me to practice yoga and meditation in the early morning with the birds. Nancy was an amazing host. For my wife and I the outside shower was rated a 10!!

Off the beaten path but close to everything!

Our first trip to MV was wonderful! We walked and bussed the whole time and it was very easy as we were just blocks from the center of Vineyard Haven. Great place, great communication and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice little getaway to the island!

Review

Location close to all important attractions, but the house is on a small bumpy dirt road - not ideal for expensive cars. You had others guests directly next door so you had to be quiet most of the time. Other small quirks like not able to wear perfume or cologne. Good location at a great price if you plan to spent a majority of your time out and about.

Everything was basically fine, but the biggest surprise was the shared bathroom and having to walk across the kitchen to access the bathroom. I don't recall reading about that in the initial description, and had that been made clear, I would never have selected this property.

Excellent host but read carefully

This property is located in a very quiet area and not far from the ferry stop (0.6 mi from Vineyard haven). But if you have much luggage or have any walking impairment, it may be best to take a cab there. As mentioned before, there is no AC. The bed is a full, not a queen. This is a room rental, not a home rental. However, the host was great about making accommodations and leaving us to watch tv in the shared living area. This is an affordable way to see the island.

Get what you pay for.

I rented this 5 months prior as it was close to were we would be hanging out and thought it would be special. There was no air conditioning, it was sweltering in the room and windows had to be blocked as guest arriving could view into room. Owner commented that we may have closed the doors to loudly when returning from dinner in town. We did not find a fan until the second night.

Great location!

This property is close to the ferry terminal (Vineyard Haven) and to shops/restaurants. Everything you might need is within walking distance...including the best lobster rolls at Grace Episcopal Church (Friday’s only). This property was a great “home base” while we explored the island and the owner made us feel right at home. The property also has a heated outdoor shower which was great to use in the morning, after visiting the beach or after a long bike ride.

Secluded in a great location!

It was a perfect time of year to go to Martha's Vineyard. Many of the crowds have left the island so driving is manageable and visiting all the great sites is easy. This property was close to Vineyard Haven and a quick drive from the ferry. The owner, Nancy, has it set-up as a "home away from home" meaning that it's very welcoming and has all the amenities you will need - even a great outdoor shower. It's a very safe, quiet area with sights of wildlife like deer. We slept with the windows open enjoying the fresh air and sounds of frogs. In the morning, it was wonderful to have coffee out on the deck. The ONLY thing I would tell people to think about before renting this property is that there are many stairs leading to the front door and that the living room is sunken so if you are challenged by these this may not be the right property. Other than that, I would definitely recommend this property.

Spotlessly Clean, Convenient to Town, and Blissfully Quiet.

Nancy was most accommodating about our late arrival and offered a hospitable welcome. The room was exactly as pictured offering a well appointed double bed, plus closet and drawer space. Everything in both the room and bathroom was extremely clean. Our stay was pleasant despite the persistently humid and dicey weather,which is not part of VRBO's venue.
