Pros; A diminutive gem centrally located in Cotswolds. Beautiful landscaping, tastefully decorated in an eclectic style, modern appliances, village of Winson a true delight. Close to many tramping/hiking trails. Impeccably clean. A multitude of outdoor areas for musings, one right on the tiny river Coln.
Only cons; very late check in transmitted in final communications complicated our plans somewhat, very poor water pressure in upstairs shower, guest info book needs updating (many recommended local restaurants no longer operating, cottage info outdated as to location of maps, etc). Spiral staircase would be impossible for all but normally abled.
With VRBO you pay your money and take your chances but rarely are we blown away with our choices. This home was a total exception! Upon walking into the main dining room, we were thrilled to find playful art, lovely furnishings and hidden treasures of decor, beautiful finishes, stocked cabinets, loads of charming sitting areas and spectacular gardens! So many unexpected delights! We will be back!!!
Amazing cottage in garden setting in the countryside.
Loved the location and garden. Beautiful back yard that borders a small river. House was well appointed and met our needs. So peaceful and pleasant. Loved the short stay.
Not somewhere we would stay again. Terrible parking and unclean. Garden boggy and had a strange smell. Owner has not replied to our last two emails either.
We love this house & garden, which is the reason for choosing it three times for staying in the Cotswolds. Winson is handy to all the most beautiful towns & the garden is stunning, one can sit by the side of the river Coln or walk in exquisite fields nearby. The house contains all comforts & the village is very quiet. Lots of gourmet pubs around but you need a car.
The property was more spacious than we thought! Very clean and nicely decorated. The surroundings were calming and beautiful - we loved that part. Just gorgeous!

Beautifully restored cottage property
Nicely updated cottage on beautiful property, including a stream-side deck for relaxing. Great place to get away from it all, but also just 5 minutes away from top fare dining at Barnsley House, or 15 minutes from Cirencester, a nice market town that is not hard to navigate with shopping and restaurants. Loved it!

Beautiful setting with a very clean and comfortable property on offer
Winson is a lovely tanquil and quiet area. Ideal for lovely walks but close enough to travel to bigger towns like Cirencester and Swindon and Cheltenham.
The property is clean and tidy and has all facilities needed to use as a holiday home.
We highly recommend the property

Could not have been better!
This property is magnificent. It is decorated in excellent taste--with a few splendid camp touches. Furniture and fixtures are all high quality. There is a beautiful garden where you can doze, listening to the stream, watch birds, or read. It is situated in a small village of handsome buildings, including a green. No stores. Just homes. It is easy to get to Cirencester, the nearest large town with excellent marketing facilities and restaurants. The owners deal expeditiously with any issue that arises.

Beautiful property in charming village!
This cottage was perfectly situated to allow us to visit all the places we wanted to see - Salisbury, Bath, Oxford and the Cotswolds area generally. There was so much more we could have done if we had more time as the whole area is so beautiful.
The house was perfect for my husband and I, and his mum who was travelling with us. The upstairs bedroom with little winding staircase suited us well and downstairs was good for her - both have lovely bathrooms. There are several different levels in the flooring even downstairs so it wouldn't be suitable for very elderly folk, but we loved it. The garden and setting is lovely.
The kitchen was well equipped and we liked being able to cook for ourselves, but also enjoyed excellent food at the nearby pub in Barnsley. It's worth booking for their restaurant as some nights it gets busy!
The parking is great but the roads in and out of the property are small (by Australian standards) and best suited to a smaller car - but possible in a standard size sedan (with wife guiding you!).
I would certainly book here again; it was all I had hoped for!

Wonderful garden, beautiful house and friendly host
Everything is as good, or better, that it looks at Homeaway. The host was very helpful and friendly, the house and garden are fantastic and you can tell that there has been cared for details both in and outhouse. Can be recommended.

Wundervolles Cottage zum Wohlfühlen und Entspannen. Ideal gelegen für Ausflüge mit dem Rad (mit dem Auto sowieso) in die cotswolds. Die Hinweise auf die Pubs sollte man unbedingt nutzen.

Perfect! The cottage was beautiful, inside and out, perfectly clean and comfortable.
The cottage was stunning, beautifully decorated and presented, with excellent quality linens, furniture and equipment. The welcome hamper was thoughtful and lovely, we were humbled by the attention to detail and the sheer perfection of the cottage and every inclusion. Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay in this wonderful cottage, it was a perfect luxurious base to explore the Cotswolds, we would happily recommend this property and would love to stay again.

Picture Book Charming
The cottage was right out of a picture book. My first glimpse was of the lovely garden and the stream running along side of the property. The variety of plants and flowers were delightful. We were able to Bar B Q and have brunch on the outside patio. Our trip was spent touring historic homes in the Cotswolds and the location was perfect for our purposes. The Swan Hotel is nearby for an evening out but we preferred to have most dinners in and the kitchen and dining area worked out well for our needs.

A stunning house, beautifully decorated and the garden was breathtaking !!
For a quiet relaxing holiday this is the place for you! The cottage is situated in the small beautifully maintained hamlet of Winson.
Inside is stunning ,with lots of quirky features and so much attention to detail makes it a very comfortable but an unusual place to stay.
The garden is full of hidden treasures with fantastic landscaping and there is a river at the back where you can see an abundance of wildlife including Kingfishers, swans and deer. We were greeted with a welcome pack of goodies which was a special touch.
It was a great location to explore the Cotswolds

Beautiful house in stunning location
Many thanks to Andrew and Mark for letting us stay at your stunning house! We had a fantastic weekend and couldn't fault anything at the house. Everything was to a high standard with extremely comfortable beds! We all loved the stream and river and had great fun catching cray fish.
We wish you all the best with future rentals and would love to come and stay again. The Croft family.
