We (ie 5 adults and 3 kids) have stayed here before. A very comfortable place for our large group - with room to spare. Will stay here again next time we visit Atchison. Need I say more?
This house works well for our family gathering. There are enough bedrooms and bathrooms. The main living spaces are large enough for everyone to be gathered together. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked with items we need, and the dining space is big enough to all sit together. Overall the house is very clean and everything was ready to go as soon as we walked in the door. We will plan to stay again.
Perfect property for a family get away with lots of rooms and sleeping space. The kids loved the upstairs and downstairs areas to play games. Just a note that there are steep stairs open from the floor by the front door that can be worrisome with a toddler! Otherwise perfect!
Was a wonderful location. Couldn't get the tv in LR to work and it was the only one besides master bedroom. So, consequently, no tv to catch the news, weather, etc. Loved all the bedrooms and having 4+ bathrooms. . Will probably come again.
Needed a place for our grown kids and grand kids. This place worked out perfectly for a shared Christmas gathering place. Enough bedrooms and bathrooms to make everyone happy. Kitchen was well stocked with all necessary pots, pans and utensils. Really appreciated the host setting up a Christmas tree with all the lights and ornaments - a lovely Christmas memory for all.
We enjoyed our stay at the Atchison VRBO. The home was very appropriate for our group. All enjoyed the home and grounds and fishing pond. However, there were a few things I would like to draw attention to. On our arrival as we toured the house we found that even though the property description under amenities listed shampoo and basic soaps 2 of the bathrooms had no soap or shampoo available; there were no towels available to clean dishes; the dishwasher soap was almost completely empty; and the propane tank for the outside grill was almost empty. I sent a message to the property host who sent someone out with a full propane tank. That individual was unfamiliar with any of the soap issues, but was able to locate dish towels for us. He left but did return with soap for the showers. Additionally, the home is listed as accommodating 11 guests. While there were sufficient plates and silverware there were only 6 on the rocks style glasses and 4 or 5 water style glasses and the table only seated 6 and there are no additional chairs.
Again, the home was very accommodating, the beds were very comfortable, the grounds and setting provided a very relaxing stay.
Our group of 7 adults found it to be a great place that provided sufficient gathering room and also personal space.
Absolutely a smooth transaction! Owners communicated timely and clearly. Home was clean and well stocked. Had family coming in from several states for my grandfather's funeral and this was a perfect way for us all to come together under one roof to share and plan and meet up for meals and memories! So thankful this home was an option.
We stayed here while visiting our son who is a Benedictine College student. It is a great house. Less than 10 min drive to campus. Spacious, clean and comfortable. Very hospitable with items like paper towel, tissues, shampoo, etc provided. Really nice shower in the master bath. Highly recommend.
Lots of space! Treehouse and fishing in the pond if you want. Two fireplaces to keep cozy warm.
The kitchen has plenty of dishes, pans, cutting boards, strainer. There was two large bowls and smaller bowls. You might want to bring medium sized bowls with you.
We also needed four folding chairs and an extra folding table because our group was large.
We had a blast!!!!!
This is our second stay at this house- the house is clean and well-stocked. The owner is responsive to questions and concerns that we had. We will be back! Thank you!
We had a good stay at this house, and would do so again. I think the owners should invest in comfortable queen beds for all of the bedrooms, as three had singe beds. Otherwise a good stay.
We returned to Atchison as a family to hold a Celebration of Life for our Mom, Step Mom, Grandmother and friend. We converged on the house for all over the US and were pleasantly surprised at just how well the home worked for our group.
The manner in which the bedrooms are laid out allowed everyone to have a little privacy. And the land around the home is peaceful and interesting. We feed the rabbits all our discarded lettuce upon our departure.
We were VERY grateful to have found this home where we all could be together to remember Jeannie and to spend quality time together as a family. A rare opportunity for us of late.
