Wonderful stay!

This is our second year staying at Anna's property and yet again, it didn't disappoint. Upon arrival the cottages were clean and ready for us for the week. The property is perfect for our family of all ages. Thank you Anna, we look forward to next year!

Perfect spot for large group

There were five families, all together (10 adults and 5 kids), and there was so much space, both inside and outside, for us to enjoy. The shallow, sandy beach was the most favourite part of all. The decor and cleanliness of the cottage, cabins, and property was exceptional. There is no shortage of things to do with games, water activities, a trampoline, TV, and Wifi. We look forward to booking this gem again, for another getaway.

Great stay

We had a great week in Killaloe! The pictures do not give this property justice. Round Lake was a perfect size for our jet skis...it gave us lots of room for tubing and water skiing while not bothering neighbors. The cottage(s) were all very clean and suited our group of 15. Anna greeted us when we got there to show us around. All-in-all a great vacation was had!

Our week on Round Lake

If you are looking for sand and shallow water for young children as well as a big lake for exploring , water skiing and fishing then this is a great spot. The big open living space in the lodge works well for time together inside and sleeping arrangements worked well for our 4 couples with 0, 2, 2 and 4 kids. Anna was an excellent host

A wonderful family holiday and celebration!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Round Lake. Anna greeted us when we arrived and showed us around. The place was spotless, the view was incredible and 13 of us were very comfortable here. We had bonfires on the beautiful beach every night and enjoyed the sun and fun on the beach every day. We loved our daily walks on the nearby logging road and we found it easy to restock food and supplies in nearby Pembroke and Round Lake. Our whole family, from our 16 year old son to my 89 year old Father all loved it here.

Cottage needs some much needed Maintenance, upgrades and a deep clean

First - the positive... we were appreciative to find this property during covid as cottages were getting difficult to find. The main cottage is cute and the porch area (although a bit cluttered) is welcoming and cozy. Anna, the contact for this property is fairly quick to respond. It is nice to have separate cabins if you are going up in a larger group. Wifi worked well. The negative: The cottage property is not as private as you may think based on posting. You are quite close to the neighbours, so much so that you can hear their conversations. The beach is cute but can feel like you're sharing it with the one neighbour. Also, the highway runs right behind this cottage. It can be quite noisy. Washrooms were not clean - smelled musty and we had to scrub toilets and clean sinks upon arrival - there was no hand soap in main washroom Kitchen sink and counter were not clean. We had to clean that as well upon arrival. Fridge was dirty and half full of old food. Freezer had very limited space as well as full of food. We had to use our coolers for the duration of our stay. Cottage posted three showers in VRBO but the shower in the small cabin had no hot water and during a rainy day/evening - the septic backed up into the shower floor Also during the rain the porch area leaks quite badly. The main door was closed but rain was still getting in above and below the door soaking the floor - as well, there was rain coming in quite substantially through the sliding windows along walls that had electrical outlets. Ceiling fan in main area was not working.. so we were very glad we brought a fan from home for some air movement I can go on but those were the major points for our group. The cottage is really in need of maintenance and it was tidy but certainly not clean. Very dated as well. The decor hides the flaws pretty well on the pictures.

Lovely escape

The property itself was lovely. Loads of space, clean, all essentials and then some provided. The beach was steps away from the door. Anna was so friendly and helpful! We hated to leave!

Wonderful Cottage for Our Family Reunion!

Anna's cottage was a perfect choice for our family group of 15. The large well-kept property offered plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. The large sunroom provided a nice lakefront view and ample space for the whole family to congregate. The sandy beach was steps from the main cottage with shallow waters making it very kids friendly. We had a great time swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and paddle-boating. Anna was very helpful and responded to our questions promptly. We would recommend this property to others and plan to return in the near future. Thank you Anna for a very memorable family gathering at your cottage!

Beautiful property! Small hiccup, properly compensated

Lovely property, great location, well kept and well appointed. We were 6 families for a long weekend- really enjoyed the setting and the amazing Muskoka room. Much better than the pictures. There was a problem with the small single room cabin, but the owner kindly compensated us and has since fixed it up! Highly recommend this property for family or friend gatherings. Really spacious and comfortable! Thanks Anna!

Gorgeous location

A beautiful large cottage on a sandy beach with very shallow slope so you can walk out a long way. The owner was very helpful, being available by cell phone for questions. The main cottage is very large and beautifully decorated with a marvelous screened-in porch area. Mosquitoes etc. were very good, coming out in the evening in late July, but very few during the daytime and very late evening. Kayak was very nice. Be aware that it's a little awkward dealing with garbage: on the last day you need to drive about 13km to drop it off at the local dump or take it home with you. There is a closer dump, but it's only open on Thursday/Sunday, not the checkout day (Saturday). Also, one of the back cabins (which we didn't stay in) had some chipmunk droppings in it, but the owner is aware of that and will fix. Just one of the issues one runs into in the wilderness :-). Absolutely perfect for a larger/extended family ... my parents/siblings/children had a marvelous week! Would definitely book here again.

About the host

The property has been owned by our family for over 30 years and restored with tender loving care (TLC). Now willing to share with others this unique authentic Algonquin lodge with 2 log cabins.

Why they chose this property

The 1-acre property is on Round Lake with clean fresh water and a soft sandy beach. Much time is spent on the sunporch with sitting and dining areas, which is very close to the water giving a true sense of being waterfront. The Great Room has a spectacular cathedral ceiling - a wow factor! The open concept kitchen in the Great Room allows for interaction with family and friends, with a view of the lake and TV watching. The property has a creek that meanders between the back cabins - ideal for young kids to catch frogs. A bridge over the creek leads to the studio cabin with barn-wood sliding doors to the bathroom and laundry room. One of a kind!

What makes this property unique

As a former Algonquin lodge with 2 back cabins, it provides the ambience of old world charm with updated amenities.
