This is a lovely, comfy home with lots of charm and a very convenient location. The hosts couldn’t have been more hospitable! With a diner one block up the road and Salem just minutes away, it was is the perfect location for enjoying this beautiful area. We highly recommend it and we will definitely return.

Beautiful property!

Absolutely beautiful historic home, the entire second floor was for our use. Contactless check in, excellent communication from our hosts, free off-street parking, and less than 15 minutes from Downtown Salem and all the area has to offer. We spent a week here for our honeymoon and would absolutely stay here again!

Home away from home

Absolutely wonderful stay. Owner was communicative and helpful when we arrived a little early, and let us know as soon as the rental was ready. Extremely clean, lovely old home, with endless character. Don’t have a single complaint. We felt at home, cared for and highly recommended. It was a very convenient base for exploring Salem, Boston, Portsmouth and pretty much anywhere in New England. We were sad to leave. Thank you so much!

Mid-October stay for Salem

Stayed in the house for several days in October. We were a total of 4 guests and this place was very spacious. The house was very clean and had extra blankets, silverware, cookware, toiletries etc. At one point during our stay there was a storm and power was down in several parts of town, the owner Lisa responded to our concerns within minutes and made sure to check up on us later. It was very convenient to stay here as we made trips to Boston (approx 30 mins away) and Salem (approx 15 mins away). We enjoyed our stay very much and if we make it back to the East coast we will definitely re-book.

The best....

It felt like home- actually better than home. This house made our entire vacation as it was set up beautifully. It had enough space to host a family BBQ and even our dog felt like he was on vacation with his own fenced in area. We literally cannot wait to return next summer.

Very pleased we stayed here.

Totally hassle free stay. All the amenities of home and very spacious. Felt like we had our own (older) house. Master bedroom with king bed is great. Only consideration for some might be that the other sleeping is a bit semi-private with a futon in a pass thru area to the master and the 6 other spots in one room. But all 6 of us were family so no issues at all. A little traffic noise in the morning, but all in all it was great.

I want this charming historical home to be MY best little kept secret!! :)

Overall impression - this place is amazing! My family and I work the Topsfield Fair every year (21 years) and, usually, stay at a local Marriott (which we love). This year we decided to venture out a bit and search VRBO. WOW .. what a find! Nestled close to the Topsfield Fair was this charming historical home built in 1839 with modern appliances. My family and I walked in, found the room we wanted to unpack our bags in, ventured through the house, saw a large well-equipped kitchen (a bonus), two bathrooms, and settled right in. All those cute little steps going down (or up - depending in which direction you were going) throughout the house added more charm to this already charming home. Working the Topsfield Fair is quite a work-out, so, having a large home like this to kick back and rest in just made our trip even more amazing. Two of my young nieces stayed overnight and they loved the loft that was conveniently in the same room with two large double beds. (Did I mention comfortable?) I loved hearing the giggling as they climbed the ladder to the loft. Of course, pictures were a must! This home accommodated our whole family with plenty of room to spare. The large kitchen afforded us the luxury to cook many of our meals before or after our day - without disturbing the others - simplifying our meal time. The two bathrooms were a huge convenience (there were a few of us enjoying this home). The washing machine and dryer was another bonus. Wow … really! Ok! I'll take it! We have, already, rebooked for Topsfield Fair, 2019, with Lisa - who has been extremely accommodating, very pleasant, and was pleased that her home was such a huge success for our trip. You can tell that she and her husband take pride in this little treasure. Thanks so much. See you next year!!

Amazing house, perfect hosts and great location!!

I almost don’t want to rave about this as I’d like to keep this gem to myself :) but alas I will. First, the owners are so nice and accommodating. I can’t say enough wonderful things about them. Then the house itself is so charming and so New England. The master bedroom is HUGE and the entire place overall has so much space to spread out. Lastly the location is great as you’re close to everything- shopping, water, the highways, restaurants etc. Def don’t let this place pass you by.

Family-friendly apartment in a prime location

Lisa's place was just perfect for me and my kids. The apartment was spacious, clean, and well appointed. It had everything we could need and the location was excellent. We were able to walk to the beach and the playground, plus being right off Rt. 128 made it ultra convenient to do all of our visiting. My girls loved the bunkbeds and the loft and I loved that there was plenty of room for all of us. Lisa was an amazing host. She was extremely friendly, responsive, and genuine. It was like staying at a friend's place, except that we had the whole place to ourselves. I would highly recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a place to stay on the north shore.

Why they chose this property

Lots of New England charm... close to Salem, Boston, beaches, New Hampshire and Maine.

What makes this property unique

Awesome spacious house with plenty of room for everyone! Although we are located in busy area of Danvers Port we are so close to so many things, a little beach, the port to watch boats and fish, a couple pizza places, the diner (three doors down!) walk to get sushi at BluKarma or pizza down the street and jump on the highway in less than 2 minutes! Boston, beaches, NH and Maine all within 1/2 hour.
