Misleading about the A/C, Master bed is lumpy -- but overall a nice stay

I very rarely give 5 starts and this place doesn't deserve 5 but close is fair. When you drive-up to the property, you can see straight-through to the infinity pool and ocean -- it's a lovely location. (The 5 hour drive is grueling from Panama City). However, they have lots of rules and lacking some basic kitchen supplies. First thing to know is the A/C IS ONLY IN THE BEDROOMS! and they mention several times to turn it off ($900 electric bill, they cry, as if I haven't just spent over $4000 to stay there for one week). You really get a feel like you are invading their vacation home. I had to hunt for a broom in order to sweep-up the overnight bugs. We really weren't bothered by bugs and we did find pull-down screens. We had to open the windows in main living room for get any sort of cooling breeze. They didn't mention these pull-downs -- which are delicate -- but it's almost like they didn't want you to find/use them -- because their directions are comprehensive, but somehow this wasn't mentioned. The main sliding glass door to the pool needs some TLC, we ended up using a side door, as we had to keep re-tracking the main door. A pool person comes by near daily to clean the pool. They are very clear not to touch any pool/jacuzzi heat or equipment. It's so hot, that you didn't want a heated pool -- it was used as a way to cool down after sunbathing. There are plenty of pool recliners and outdoor seating. The pool itself has a 6" deep sunning platform which was a nice feature. They do not provide any spices. I understand the whole covid thing, but a little salt and pepper wouldn't be too much to ask. As well, they didn't have a normal flat spatula, or ice trays+, NBD, but it all accumulated. They unplug the built-in microwave and have left a small one on the counter. (Not really sure why, we hardly use microwaves, so NBD for us). They are honest about the internet and power surges -- it happens. The worst part of the whole trip was the master bed (both ensuite rooms) were extremely lumpy. It hurt my back. They also do not have a closet to hang items -- because they lock their own private beach paraphernalia in master (we had to go to resort and rent), nor chairs to sit on. Overall, it's a nice place. The owners need to realize, that yes, "it's their home" but it is our home-away-from-home that we paid for. We make it so they can afford it. No need to come across so possessive. Accept that it's a short-term rental. We own STRs and get it.

Playa Venao Getaway

Wonderful location and beach. The area is remote and quiet. Very nice and clean home. There is however no cable TV service, but does have Netflix and Youtube. Unfortunately, the internet service was out for nearly 1 day. The bedrooms have air conditioning, but not the living room. Overall, a very nice getaway and ai would stay there again.

Here are the GPS coordinates of the house. To drive from Panama City, there’s really only one route :). If you have Waze, I would use that app or even Google Maps.
