This historic and award-winning, Obie Bowman-designed cabin is sure to bring adventure to your next Sea Ranch getaway. This home features redwood-clad walls, plenty of natural light from beautiful skylights, and a second-story deck overlooking the Redwood trees. Built as one of 15 “walk-in” vacation cabins, this unique home's design was guided by a concern for minimizing the visual and physical impacts on the land. Vehicles for these 15 homes are restricted to a single parking area with easy access via foot trails and a limited use road for easy loading and unloading. Additionally, the lots for these homes are just large enough to accommodate the cabins, leaving nearly 90% of the land as a perpetual natural preserve.

Relax on the balcony overlooking a bird's-eye white water view of the Pacific Ocean. During the day, enjoy the nearby forest trails or cross Highway 1 to hike on the bluff trails. Head over to the shared swimming pools, saunas, and tennis courts at any of the three recreation centers. At night, you can relax and warm your toes by the wood stove while streaming your favorite movie via Netflix or DVD (there is a DVD rental store in Gualala) on the 50-inch flatscreen TV. Upstairs in the master bedroom, you can open the gorgeous skylights to watch the stars and the milky way at night, or close them so that you can sleep in as late as you want!

Enjoy the nature and serenity of the iconic, architecturally significant coastal community of Sea Ranch, home to many hiking trails and beaches including Stengel Beach nearby. Tee off at the Sea Ranch Golf Links only eight miles away, or visit one of the three community recreation centers to enjoy the shared amenities. The charming town of Gualala is just a short drive from home for grocery stores, art galleries, and restaurants.

Cozy Treehouse with Ocean Views!

Loved the hot tub and view from the deck. Parking is a short and beautiful walk away from the house, and Sea Ranch Lodge and beaches are easily accessible. Highly recommend!

Charming cabin in the woods

Just as pictured with beautiful view. Gets chilly in the evenings though so suggest bringing up your own firewood, kindling matches. The wood at property is too wet to light.

Great vintage walk-in Sea Ranch cabin

This is a lovely vintage Sea Ranch walk-in cabin, well-maintained and comfortable. You drive in, drop your stuff, park down the fire road, and walk to the place. Hot tub is nice, kitchen well equipped, good internet, deck and grill, nice views of ocean from the ridge on the woods side of Hwy 1, easy to drive down to Stengel Beach parking lot for walks on bluffs (as long as you leave by sundown). Two bunk beds for any kiddos. It's small and best for a family of 4 or fewer or a couple. A great spot.

Great Deck View

This cabin was lovely, although it sleeps 4, i feel it is best suited for 2 people. The view from the deck is amazing. The one bedroom with skylight was wonderful for watching shooting stars. Bring your own firewood. Fireplace operates nice. All in all we had a wonderful experience.

Perfect getaway

In a forest on a hill with a view of the sea, and to top it all, a beautifully designed cabin! Only area of improvement is that because the cabin does not have a dishwasher, the utensils may not have been properly cleaned by the previous guests. The oven also could be cleaner. Otherwise this place is a real gem.

peaceful with views

everything was wonderful. perfectly peaceful with a great view of the ocean. 2 negatives-dishes were filthy and had to be washed before using and the mattress was horrible. it was so bad that we both woke with back aches. i had to out couch pillows under on side yo keep from rolling off the bed and to fill in the huge hole to get it to be semi flat.

Beautiful location. Fair property.

At $400/night we expected more. Lighting was poor throughout the house. In particular, it was dangerous getting from the bedroom to the bathroom at night because of inadequate stairwell lighting. There was no side table on one side of the bed. The outdoor barbecue was not maintained and needs to be replaced. On the positive side, the kitchen was well stocked and the hot tub was fabulous.

Good, rustic, cottage at Sea Ranch

Everything described in the listing is accurate. A couple of additions: 1. Bathroom is downstairs from master bedroom (you can figure this out from the on-line tour, but just to be explicit about it.) If you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night you have to navigate up and down the narrow stair case. Just be advised. 2. There is a propane bbq. o the porch. It was pretty grimy so I had to clean it before using. 3. There are some great hiking trails in the redwoods behind the cottage. Start out at the trailhead marked 113. Unfortunately, I could find no trail map and did get a little lost on a few occasions.

Beautiful Cabin in the Redwoods!

This clean, cozy cabin is the quintessential Sea Ranch experience! Probably the best view of all the walk-in cabins, it is private and well provisioned. Hot tub was clean and hot on arrival. Would give 5 stars, but grill and kitchen appliances could use updating.

Great cabin in the redwoods

The cabin was exactly as described and perfect for a quiet getaway. Secluded, yet a short walk to the beach. It's also only a walk away to a Sea Ranch clubhouse pool/sauna/tennis courts which we also used. I highly recommend the cabin.

Loved my stay here

I had to travel to The Sea Ranch to meet our architect and decided to telecommute for a few days from Redwood Grove. It was so nice and relaxing. I love the walk-in cabin style and the tranquility of being in a redwood grove. This is the life!

Beautiful view and amazing hot tub.

Cozy cabin in the trees with a nice deck to enjoy the view. The kitchen is a bit funky. The vent fan for the stove blows right back at you. I think they may have screwed the outside vent closed. Maybe to keep something out of the house? Overall a cozy and comfortable place to spend a week.

Cozy house with amazing view from hot tub

Fantastic property that was obviously built with a thoughtfulness and consideration that is not found in many modern architectural designs. Stunning views, meticulously planned slightly rustic cabin, great hot tub. Note that Vacasa does not provide firewood for the wood burning stove so bring some or pick it up from the hardware store in Gualala when you pick up your parking pass (the check-in process is annoying and their office is around the corner behind the main part of the shopping center they direct you to, but this info is bizarrely not included in the directions). Couple of small maintenance things we noticed after a few days: Hot tub cover is slightly broken (on the left side) and can fall down easily and randomly when you're in the tub. We wedged the small table on the deck under the broken arm to avoid being smashed in the head by it again. There also might be a small water leak either coming out of the shower or the toilet. Minor but deserves attention ASAP. Overall, though, a fantastic property we would come back to.

Cozy Cabin, Some Issues

We enjoyed staying at this little walk-up cabin. A true Sea Ranch experience. Cute functional retro kitchen, huge skylights above the bed, beautiful views from the deck. Unfortunately, we got unlucky with some of the amenities: a filter issue prevented hot tub use, outlets for the tv and wifi were out, and the water heater was down. We spent parts of our trip corresponding with management and they were friendly and pretty responsive. Someone came to fix the outlets and water heater by the next day. We stayed multiple nights so the overall experience was still positive despite the temporary issues.

Perfect Relaxation Spot

Redwood Grove provided everything my husband and I needed to relax after several hectic months of wedding planning. The view is AMAZING, I barely wanted to leave the porch. The hiking trails were easily accessed. Having the kitchen with all the necessary tools as well as the BBQ was nice because it gave us the option of cooking in so we didn't have to eat out every night. The wood stove kept us comfy and cozy. We can't wait to plan another trip here.

Beautiful spot!

This was our first visit to Sea Ranch and we loved everything about it. The cabin was perfect. A constant view of the ocean while surrounded by trees was delightful. We loved the natural light and windows all around inside the cabin. Laying under the large sky windows at night we enjoyed star gazing one night, and the sound of rain the next! We really liked the cabin layout — a small cabin with excellent use of space. The two of us were very cozy without feeling cramped. We enjoyed hiking along various beach paths, with many options from 5-15 minute drives from the cabin. We would definitely come back to Sea Ranch and this sweet cabin.

Sea Ranch is beautiful!

We had the most amazing view. The hot tub was nice to have and I don’t think all the locations have them. We would love to come back. The area is perfect for hiking, wineries and beaches. We didn’t have the ability to do everything we would have liked. For the house, since there is no dishwasher, it would have been nice to have more kitchen towels. We had to use bathroom towels to do the dishes, but at least we had enough. And having beach towels for the hot tub was nice to have as well. The refrigerator in our unit seems to be going out. It made some pretty loud noises at times. Other than that the place was perfect! We loved it and hope to be able to come back sometime.
