Villa Sanctuary is only minutes from town -- yet this beautifully-designed sprawling estate is a world unto itself. Explore the secluded beach just steps from the villa, and take a dip in the calm, turquoise Caribbean waters. You’ll feel as if you have the bay to yourself! Relax poolside during the day, and star gaze from the hot tub each night. The house has an open-concept modern kitchen, a spacious living room with comfortable seating and all four bedrooms boast ocean views. Villa Sanctuary is discreetly located at the end of a cul-de-sac, providing plenty of privacy. If you’re looking for company, St. John’s bustling port town, Cruz Bay, is an easy 5 minute drive away.

With its beautiful stonework, and lush gardens full of fragrant flowers, fruit trees, and sugar birds, Villa Sanctuary is an idyllic retreat. The estate enjoys dazzling panoramic views of Monte and Rendezvous Bays. Down a short stone pathway is a pebble beach where you can snorkel, paddle board and kayak at your leisure. Equipment is available through St. John Concierge Service (see below). If you charter a boat, we can also arrange to have the boat pick you up and drop you off here just as long as you don't mind to swim out! Prefer to sunbathe by the pool or hot tub? The deck is equipped with lounge chairs. The villa has multiple terraces with seating and tables, which are an excellent spot to listen to the waves over an al-fresco cocktail.

The interior boasts high ceilings, and a light and airy color palette. The décor combines coastal luxury with the comforts of home. The spacious living room has plush leather furniture you’ll love sinking into. Between the flat screen TV and the entertainment center stocked with DVDs, books, cards, and board games, this room promises to keep everyone entertained. The modern open-concept kitchen features stainless steel appliances, a breakfast bar, and seating for eight at the dining room table. There’s a washer/dryer on site for your convenience.

All four Air-conditioned bedrooms have unobstructed ocean views and updated bathrooms with walk-in showers. Bedroom #1 -- called the King Suite -- is a private guest cottage, separate from the house, with its own patio. Even the shower has a view of the sea! Bedroom #2, attached to the main house, also comes with a king-sized bed, a beautiful arched ceiling, and a shower complete with an ocean view. Bedrooms #3 and #4 feature a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and beds that can be made into king-sized or twins. They share an expansive ground floor terrace, making these rooms ideal for children or adults.

Power outages happen often in the V.I.! Villa Sanctuary has back up power provided via our solar and Tesla battery systems!

Villa Sanctaury

This beautiful and lovingly curated home was the perfect place for us to stay on St John. Drew’s preparation for our stay, concern about our needs and follow through could not have been better. All things in the home were in perfect working order and the views and sounds of being close to the water were amazing. We plan on returning to this oasis.

Excellent property

My family of 6 couldn’t be happier staying here in St John. Drew made everything so easy, especially with the rental car.The location cannot be beat. The views were breathtaking. We all had plenty of room and loved spending time together. The outdoor shower was a favorite for my wife. We will definitely book this property again next time we are in St John!

Five Star Family Fun

Our family had a wonderful stay at Villa Sanctuary. Pure bliss lots to do for all ages ( age range 15-63 in our family group) The location and sheer beauty of the house overlooking the harbor is hard to capture in pictures The experience with nature was so relaxing - very zen. Drew was fantastic and got us settled Kayaking from the walk to beach was a highlight for my nephew We will be back !

St. John Sanctuary…perfect!

Drew & Allison with St. John Concierge made our stay at this beautiful property easy breezy. They set up the jeep rentals, snorkel gear rental, Stand up paddle boards & kayak. They advised us on which ferry to take, gave us recommendations for day boat Charter. (Capt. Alex with Island Excursion VI…Awesome). They picked up food for us & had it waiting in the fridge…thank you Allison! Were available for any questions that we had. Meeting us at the dock with the jeeps & collecting them at the end helped make our trip stress free. The house, it was everything we could hope for. Beautiful views, wonderful outside areas to find and access to the interesting rocky beach below. We enjoyed our week at Sanctuary so much!!! Can’t wait to return!

Fantastic home with amazing views and so many amenities.

Very spacious with great attention to detail. We loved the layout - comfortable spaces to be together and also have some privacy. The deep private pool and large hot tub were perfect! The kitchen was huge and well stocked. The grounds were stunning. The additional services offered were great options to have- stocked provisions, paddle boards, boat charter. Manager was very friendly and responsive. We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Perfect family get away!

This property was the perfect place for our family. The house was roomy and beautiful. The location was amazing. the view was awesome! it was remote enough for privacy but was just a short drive to Cruz Bay and the beaches. The property manager was so helpful and made everything easy. Wonderful vacation!

We loved everything about our stay at the Sanctuary! Drew was incredibly helpful to work with and provided all the help we needed with logistics, groceries, snorkel, boat charter and Jeep rentals and so much more! The house was so well stocked with everything we needed and the views were breathtaking from every location! We loved being able to walk down to the beach. And the location was so central to all the beaches and spots we wanted to visit. We hope to come back someday for sure!

Truly a sanctuary

We had a wonderful experience. Property was perfect. Very private and surrounded by beautiful gardens and wildlife. Well stocked kitchen for cooking. Many extras like quality beach chairs, coolers, flashlights, kayak, and beach towels. This was my favorite carribean vacation, and I would like to return. Host was always available.

Beautiful View

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Sanctuary. Never having been to St John, we were pleasantly surprised at the location of our rental home. It was just far enough away from Cruz Bay for peace and quiet but close enough that we could go to dinner and walk around town within minutes. We passed two grocery stores on the way, so no need to provision ahead of time. The pool, the main house and all of the bedrooms were very comfortable and beautifully maintained. The grounds were well kept with lots of palm trees, flowers and greenery. There are two kayaks on the rocky beach below that we enjoyed using. We kayaked to the private beach and snorkeled there in the afternoons. So much to do and see! We will definitely be back!

3 generations in paradise

We have been to St. John many times since our honeymoon in 1999. We have always stayed in a different villa, but Sanctuary was always one we said we would go back to one day. We traveled with our 2 children (13 and 9) and my husbands parents. The Villa did not disappoint. It is still as welcoming and accommodating as it was when we stayed there in 2004. The kitchen and all it's amenities were a highlight of the house! One suggestion I would make is to have a couple beach chairs that are higher off the ground. This would really help out the older people when traveling to the beach. Other than that it was perfect!

Home Again!

This is our 8th year at The Sanctuary. It never disappoints. We were thrilled and felt immediately at home on our first trip with our family of 8. We have had 6, 4, 3 and just the two of us and it has always been as welcoming as the first visit. We have our privacy with a view that is hard to beat. The close proximity to Cruz Bay makes it great for dinners out. We will return again!

Great place to stay!

This was our 4th visit to St. John. We have stayed in Peter Bay, Cruz Bay and Catherinesburg. This was our first stay in Rendevous Bay. We traveled with two other couples and our 3 kids, it was a perfect layout with two of the bedrooms having separate baths and the one our family used was downstairs with a shared bath with our kids. The house was beautifully appointed and had many extras as far as supplies needed for cooking so we didn't have to purchase things we may use just one time. The view is amazing and the location was convenient to town. The downstairs bedrooms are only accessible by steps outside of the villa, but since the weather is usually nice it wasn't a problem for our crew. Mark at SeaView Homes was very accommodating and helped us plan our trip along the way. The owners have thought of everything needed to make your stay as pleasant and relaxing as possible. Everything in this home is well maintained and very clean. Thank you Wilson's for sharing your beautiful home with us.

Our group was comprised of six people (two friends and two couples), between the ages of 30-41. We wanted a place where we could reconnect, be just a little rambunctious, and truly feel as though we were on vacation. Prior to this trip, I was not a enthusiast of the whole 'tropical vacation' idea, since that typically involved staying at large resorts and being subjected to crowds, children and the 'herd of cattle' treatment. Thankfully, Sanctuary St. John is the antithesis of the mainstream tropical vacation. Sanctuary St. John absolutely gave us the best vacation getaway experience! Ed & CJ have been doing this for quite some time...and it shows. The house is situated in a sweet spot, which leaves one feeling that they're living the epitome of luxury. Waking up each morning to the swooping pelicans, hearing the waves crashing 24 hours a day, and being surrounded by all the comforts of home (including wifi, blessed be!) allowed us to detach from our lives back home and fully feel that we were a part of island life. Everything was truly clean, useable, and there was plenty of space for our groceries & belongings, allowing us to 'move in' and live. Our first night had the clearest sky of the entire trip, and the view of the stars is everything. Sitting in the pool and hot tub each night, watching cruise ships go by, seeing the tiniest twinkle of lights from St. Croix, hearing our favorite music over the outdoor speakers...these are moments that live on well after the stay has come to an end. St. John's many beaches are worth the short drives. On weekdays, even close to the holidays, we felt as though some beaches were there just for us. When we would encounter others, we found everyone to be friendly, respectful and just plain happy. Local life is every bit as relaxed as one might assume, but there is a variety of shopping & dining options that are within 10-15 minutes' drive, and are certainly recommended. Yes, we're coming back. No, we wouldn't change a thing. Yes, that is saying something. If you want to put the rest of the world on a shelf, and focus on peace, restoration & comfort, this is the place to do it.

Luxury with the Comforts of Home - Sanctuary St. John

My husband and I had the good fortune to stay at this wonderful villa on a recent vacation. Having worked in the hospitality industry for a good portion of my career, I am quite picky when it comes to the places I stay while spending my limited vacation time. While Sanctuary looked wonderful before we got there, it completely exceeded expectations after we arrived. What can I say? The view is gorgeous and while there is a certain amount of planning that goes behind orchestrating that, it really is nature at its best. The grounds, however, the structure, layout and quality of the property itself is really the thing to be discussed. You can tell that every inch of this property has been thought out and given the utmost in consideration. Each sleeping room has, what seems to be, an individualized view. The privacy you can feel within a house full of people is not often something you are granted in a property such as this. However, each space is open, airy, yet truly private - even the bedrooms connected by a bathroom on the lower level. There were a total of six of us traveling together, occupying each of the bedrooms, and when you wanted/needed to escape to the privacy of your room, you were truly able. The outdoor areas are great for lounging and the occasional meal outdoors. With the full grill, you can prepare a large meal, cook it, and then eat it all under the gorgeous tropical sky. While a good part of our days were spent snorkling and exploring the beauty of St. John, we spent almost every night taking in the clear, starry sky from either the pool or hot tub. We visited over the Thanksgiving holiday and were able to make a complete Thanksgiving feast in the fully loaded kitchen. We ate out only twice the entire time making full use of these facilities for the length of our stay. While not even realizing I'd need or want a washer and dryer during my vacation (because, really, who wants to do laundry while away?) it was a dream come true. While I packed more than enough for our trip, I welcomed the chance to clean what could before leaving for home and was able to unpack a fresh bag rather than do a bunch of laundry after arriving home. As cliche as it may sound, this property truly was a 'home away from home'. Well, if my home was a gorgeous villa, that is. It was everything I wanted to experience in luxury, yet provided all of the comforts of home. Don’t even think about it, just book your trip and stay here!

Exceeded My Expectations---Can't Wait to Return!

The aptly-named Sanctuary is truly a private escape equipped with everything you could need for a peaceful, relaxing vacation. The private setting of this villa must be one of the most lovely spots on an incredibly gorgeous island. Although set away from the more touristy (but low-key) areas of St John, Sanctuary is within easy access by car to all that Cruz Bay has to offer, and to the breath-taking beaches and snorkeling on the north side. The villa and property are very upscale, yet cozy and comfortable, and filled with thoughtful details which give it more of a feeling of home than most vacation rentals in my experience. The pictures do not do it justice, since they cannot convey the overall feel of the place, with its soft breezes, the sound and color of the many beautiful birds, the lush and well-maintained gardens, the constantly soothing sound of the surf, and the sky at night filled with more stars than you can imagine! I can't wait to return!
