Take in the view of the ocean from your private patio space. This two-bedroom, one bath San Diego vacation rental located on Law St. in Pacific Beach is just a rocks throw away from the beach.

Located just steps away from Pacific Beach and a few minutes' drive from La Jolla, this cozy Pacific Beach vacation rental sleeps 4 in beds but can accommodate 5. There's something for the whole family, including SeaWorld San Diego just a 12 minute drive away - you could practically bike there! Crystal Pier is just a 5 minute walk on the boardwalk, or continue the walk down to Mission Beach and Belmont Park. There are plenty of restaurants and shops to check out along the way if you choose.

Enjoy watching the sunsets from your private patio after a long day at the beach. The living room has large windows to really bring in the natural light and make it nice and bright inside. Relax on the leather couch and/or loveseat while watching your show of choice on the 50" TV, or stream a movie on Netflix using your own private wifi network.

The kitchen has nice granite countertops, gas stove, dishwasher and all the other appliances you need to cook from home. The kitchen also has dishes, pots, pans, utensils etc. If you don't have something you need, just ask us about it.

Both bedrooms have a queen-size bed so four people can comfortably stay here. Each room has two windows that let in plenty of sunlight during the day, and one has a small flatscreen TV.

The bathroom has a matching granite countertop and tub/shower combo where you can wash off all the sand after a long day of surfing, swimming, or playing. This home also has a garage to park your smaller size rental car (full size SUV's will not fit inside the garage - dimensions are 93 inches wide, 15.5 feet long, 83 inches tall). You will also find boogie boards, sand toys, beach chairs, and wagon to use during your time at the beach.

There's a grill and extra seating in the front shared patio space.

No smoking is allowed inside any of our properties.

Lovely beach 2 BDRM

Great location and view. We were comfortable and things went smoothly. We would totally stay here again if just my husband and I but with just one bathroom and four people I'd go bigger next time but great people to work with.

Perfect Location!

My family and I were very pleased with our accommodations at the The Whale property. The size was perfect for our family of four. The best part of the property was its location and proximity to the beach and city attractions. The only issue with the property is that you can tell that it's really old, and some updating and ventilation maintenance could really improve the property. All in all, it was a great stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

Great Location on Pacific Beach

It is an excellent location near the beach, and the shops and restaurants in the area. It was pretty quiet as well. The property manager communicated quickly on any questions that we had. The rental rate was reasonable for the area it is located in. The laundry is a separate area / room and is quite small. It wasn't all that clean, but it was functional. The apartment is older, and the lighting was a little dim. The heating is electric. We spent most of our time sightseeing. Uber and Lyft rides would usually arrive within 4-5 minutes. We did use ride services quite a bit. The airport is just about 20 minutes away. Ride services to downtown San Diego can be a little pricey. We did go to Balboa Park, and to Coronado - maybe 1/2 each hour from Law Street. The only complaint was the entertainment system. It was a little cumbersome to operate, and required a passcode every time we chose a new movie or internet service to watch. It could have been our lack of understanding. Overall, we would stay at the Whale again - especially now that we know our way around the area. Lots of great dining and activities nearby. It's a wonderful place to hang out along the beach, and to watch the waves and surfers. There is a lot to see along the beach. The view from the upstairs patio is really nice. We saw some really great sunsets!

Lovely housing, great location!

My parents and I had a nice stay at the Whale! Everything was clean and comfortable, and the apartment was stocked with all the basics. Prior reviews mentioned construction next door - maybe we're all heavy sleepers, but none of us were affected at all by any construction noise. The apartment was quiet and peaceful. The only downside to the construction that we observed was that some of the workers would park in the alley directly parallel to the garage, making it very difficult to pull out without hitting them. Not a huge deal, and not the fault of the property managers whatsoever, but just something to be aware of if you drive a larger vehicle! You can't beat the location and the ocean view. We would gladly stay here again.

Family get away

My daughter, her 3 kids and myself had a vacation. This place was perfect. The beach is about ½ block walk away. Fabulous sunsets. Parking off on the street and can get quite tricky due to spectators those sunsets. There is a garage, but your vehicle must be a smaller car. Vans/SUV will not fit. We would trailer this place again in the future.

Awesome location, view and value

Was an awesome location in walking distance to shops and restaurants that had a gorgeous view of the beach and ocean, which we really enjoyed when the weather was nice. Hard to beat a two bedroom place at this location, view and price! The lack of A/C and old/worn carpets were not ideal for a baby but was still an awesome place. Also worth noting that laundry is communal and not in unit. Megan and Tammie responded to our inquiries very quickly and were very helpful. We loved our stay and would recommend!

Location 1 block from beach which was great. We can watch surfers from windows and balcony Well appointed kitchen for cooking at ‘home’ Beds were comfortable Drawbacks -not enough towel bars/ racks in bathroom. Wash machine would not wring out clothes

Location & View are Superb

Great location but the unit would benefit from some improvements: using microwave trips the breaker with accompanying power outage; bathroom could use grab bars; utensils & no-stick pans are worn; fitted sheets aren’t deep enough & pop off; living room furniture is uncomfortable and we never figured out the TV’s PIN. Clean though & friendly neighbors. Next door construction continues by day.

Surf Retreat

Perfect location on Pacific Beach! 3 blocks from San Diego Surf School. We were right on law street beach where they teach. Literally walked home from lessons to eat lunch. Super convenient for a visit to La Jolla. So walkable!! Walked down beach for dinner and Cass street for great neighborhood restaurants. Thank you!!!

Close to the beach

This condo was very close to the beach. The condo was stocked with appropriate kitchen items for cooking, as well as sufficient bedding and bath items. The host was very easy to work with.

Mid September Visit

Due to construction noise next door and NO AIR CONDITIONING (told that's pretty normal for San Diego), the unit was just "okay". Outdoor chairs needed to be replaced, which were on order but didn't arrive during our stay, and a few other minor repairs were needed as well. Could definitely use more clothes hangers in the closets. Manager did respond when we needed a lightbulb for the refrigerator. Thank you.

First offshore trip with family

Treated my daughter and son-in-law to their first offshore fishing charter. We stayed here and it was clean, beautiful and right down the hill to the beach. The VRBO had a nice patio, which we enjoyed sitting out on during the beautiful SD evenings. Tammie was very timely with her responses and a great support. I would recommend and book this VRBO again, hands down. 👍
