About this property

Fantastic, Multi-family, Medium Bank Waterfront Retreat in Freeland!

Bradley Beach makes the perfect spot for extended family or friend getaways, with three separate quarters complete with kitchens. The main level has three bedrooms (one with bunk beds) and two bathrooms, one master en suite. The two lower units each have one bed, bath, kitchen and pull out couches with linens for extra sleeping space.

Everyone has their own quarters for privacy and quiet, but the main living quarters has plenty of dining, deck and kitchen space for the whole group to gather. The two lower level units are accessible around the back of the building. Solar lights guide you down the path if you arrive after dark. The main unit also has flashlights if you need them.

Breathtaking views await you from most rooms. BBQ on the deck off the family/game room. The well laid out kitchen is stocked with all the staples you could possibly need to create family meals. Each level has a full size washer/dryer complete with laundry supplies.

There is room for everyone here - kids and pets (pets case by case, with deposit) - in this comfortable, casual Bradley Beach retreat. We have tried to think of everything you would need for a fun, relaxing, carefree vacation.

To put your mind at ease, our cleaning staff, all wearing masks and gloves, take special care to ensure every surface in the home is disinfected before your arrival.

Enjoy the fire pit on your way down to the beach, play Frisbee on the lawn, soak up some rays at this sunny island spot, or golf at the Holmes Harbor course which is within walking distance.

Minutes from the Clinton Ferry and convenient to restaurants, shops and grocery stores. Whidbey Island is only an hour from Seattle but is a world unto it's own, with stunning vistas, winding roads perfect for the driving enthusiasts in your group, boat rentals, many public beaches, golf courses, charming little towns, great food and wineries!

Check out the three ring binder in the main house for important information about the home and island attractions.

As you drive down Bradley Lane to the house, you'll say "Ahhhhhh." Peace and quiet and jaw-dropping water views are yours!

Gorgeous views, fantastic family getaway
We spent a wonderful 3 nights at the house with our family. We had the master bedroom upstairs with the fabulous view while our daughter & son-in-law took the back room and the grandkids (4 & 6) loved the bunk beds ! Our other daughter & spouse took one of the two fully self-sufficient apartments on the lower floor but everyone gathered upstairs most of the time where there was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. We were fortunate with the weather so spent plenty of time taking in the views from the deck or down on the beach. The stairs down are a little daunting but we managed to get our kayak and raft down to enjoy some time on the water. We absolutely loved the property and had trouble getting the grandkids to leave. Also, Rachael was a pleasure to deal with, very responsive and friendly.

Big house, lots of space, needs a deep clean and some maintenance
The house generally worked fine for our group gathering. Beautiful views and location, quiet neighborhood, easy access to lots of hikes and adventures in Freeland and on the island. Our biggest overall issue is the house was NOT CLEAN. Crumbs and sticky cabinets, dirty bathrooms, spotty and stained carpets. Given that we were coming in with the assurance of additional cleaning due to Covid-19, I would really hate to see what this place looked like after a normal cleaning. We had lawn crews twice during our one week stay which was quite frustrating, one time which we had no notice of and the other only brief advanced notice. The house needs some general maintenance (the dishwasher does not work well, door to bunk room does not latch, screen door and blinds in lower unit are not functional ) and there were no sheet pans, super dull graters, ran out of dishwasher detergent, had to dig in the cleaning area in the basement to find garbage bags. Beds were comfortable and nicely outfitted and there were plenty of towels and linens for all. Main living area is large and spacious with a great couch for movie watching. Beach stairs are STEEP and the beach is not particularly dog or hang out friendly given the rough oyster beds, etc... We still enjoyed a couple of walks and were appreciative of being able to hose off the dogs outside. As listed, the lower rooms can only be accessed from the outside. This setup was fine for us, but I would definitely say the musty/moldy odor in the lower rooms made them unappealing for hanging out.

Great property, great host
Our family needed a short getaway to provide change of scenery from our quarantine at home, and this home was exactly what we needed. First and foremost, the host was super responsive and accommodating, and put our mind at ease on everything we had questions or concerns about. The property itself is great - great views from the master bedroom and the main living areas, a large deck with plenty of seating to enjoy a BBQ, quick access to the beach, and plenty of clams to be found during low tide! We loved that there were separate living areas - we hadn't even realized that as we booked, but then it ended up providing a nice retreat for the grandparents that joined for our trip, where they could watch their own movies late at night without worrying about disturbing our young kids. While there we saw an eagle several times, as well as some deer, a seal, and plenty of colorful birds around the property. It was a pretty amazing feeling to be there amidst the quiet and nature. Renters should be note that there are some uneven and slightly steep steps down to the firepit and to the beach. This was totally fine for us, though a bit of a workout if you ended up running up and down them several times in row, but everyone from our 5 year old daughter to our 65 year old mother made several trips without incident... so the note is primarily for anyone with mobility impairments.

Mid-Winter Weekend stay
What an amazing place! There is so much space to hang out and chat, play games or just sit in solitude and read. It was a bit cold and rainy so we didn’t get to enjoy the deck, fire pits or beach access but I can imagine that would be amazing!

Great place for a large gathering
This place was perfect for our group of friends over NYE. We had plenty of space to gather together while having quieter and more private quarters of the house available. The hosts were very responsive with our questions. We had a lovely time.

Great location for a big family
The house was clean and comfortable for our large family gathering. The views of the Sound are beautiful, and the house is located in a quiet neighborhood. There's a winery around five minute drive away, and Freeland is less than ten minutes. There are plenty of options for groceries and food, but you'll need to drive there. Rachael was very helpful and quick when answering questions about the home. There's enough dining room seating for at least ten, and there's another bar-height table near the kitchen that will seat six (as well as the kitchen bar itself). The kitchen is adequately provisioned, but not exceptional. There's enough place settings for 12 and lots of mugs. I think the only item we couldn't find was a coffee grinder. The pan selection isn't great, but after years of renting vacation homes I don't have high expectations anyway - I bring my own skillets and knives, for example. There were plenty of linens for the bedrooms and bathrooms. I didn't get any complaints from anyone in the family on the comfort of their stay. There few quirks that are completely understandable if you're aware of them in advance: - There is beach access from the house, but the path down to the beach is steep - be prepared for a bit of a hike. I don't recommend it for the elderly (unless they're spry!) or those not in the mood for some adventure. - Yes, the water is a bit off, but that's to be expected on the island. The kitchen sink tap has an excellent filter system. - As noted, the lower rooms can only be accessed from the outside. There are no interior stairs from the main floor to the lower level. This was a plus for us, since those rooms were more like mini apartments and the relatives staying there could escape for some "me" time. In all, we had a great time and I would stay here again.

Great location to explore Whidbey
We had a terrific experience in Freeland. The views are amazing, the house is very comfortable and children really liked the possibility to have their own space. Even mornings are fun with the beach low tide and the wildlife. I definitely recommend this location.

Beautiful, secluded beach home
This three-unit group worked great for our family reunion. The location was away from the street, had a private beach and we saw tons of sea life and eagles right at the house! We had a fantastic time with our group of eleven kids (elementary-aged) and adults.

Enjoyed the stay!
Easy process with flexible owners! Of note, the bottom of the house is two separate units which was no clearly mentioned in the listing so I will post it here. Did not keep us from having a good time and worked out with our large group.

Smelly water!
Overall the property was nice with a lovely view and enough space that suited our needs. The biggest problem we had was that the water here STANK despite literal hours of trying to flush out the smell at the property manager's recommendation. It was to the point where we didn't want to shower because you ended up smelling so strongly of sulfur. Normally that wouldn't have been a problem except we had two infants with us and are obviously a bit more sensitive to the water. I think one of the challenges too was that it's actually individual units that you rent out as a whole and it would've been nicer for our needs to have them connected. Oh well! If you're looking for a group residence with beach access, more privacy between spaces, and don't mind the smelly water then this place is a great one to stay.

A weekend at the Bradley Beach
We spent 3 days, Friday-Sunday at the Bradley Beach in late August. The house was beautiful and very well stocked. It had plenty of kitchen basics, like multiple seasonings, flour, sugar, oil and all the utensils and cookware you could want. The Payless grocery, 7 minutes away, is a full grocery. The master bedroom upstairs opens to the balcony and the water. My sister, who pleaded to have it, said she loved how peaceful it felt. The other bedroom with the king bed feels a little boxed in and only faces the driveway. The upstairs feels like a stylish modern home. The two downstairs units feel much more like beach homes - smaller (but equally clean and stocked) and so close to the beach. My husband and I stayed in Mutiny Bay and enjoyed walking down to the beach whenever we felt like it. The stairs down to the water were fine for us, but would be challenging for less mobile folks. The water was surprisingly warmer than I would have guested. Three of the children went in waist high - and one had a stare-down with a seal! The beach was clean, but there are enough barnacles on the rocks that I'd recommend bringing some beach shoes/sandals. Overall we all really loved our time here.
