Labor day weekend

We had a wonderful time @ your place. A few issue though. A/C leaked in kitchen above kitchen table. We put a coupke buckets on table to capture water. Floor had several soft spots which was concerning to us. I'm sure the house has settled over the years csusing the floor to buckle in various spots. House design was very inviting. Looks like both bathrooms are currently in process of needed repairs, sheetrock and trim repairs. A coupke steps leading up to house were extremely soft. We were afraid of falling through. Overall the house was beautifully set up. Just need these repairs taken care off before major issues arise.

Relaxed but concerned

We arrived at the property at 4:20pm (check in was at 4 pm) but on the VRBO app there was no access key yet so I called customer service and I was on the phone for 40 minutes. They couldn’t find the reason why this happened but we got into the house around 5pm. The inside of the house looked amazing. Apart from the obvious floor issue in the living room. We also noticed one of the bedroom’s ceiling fans was not working and in that same bedroom the bed was caved in the bottom left corner. We decided to leave that room alone and just use the next room as it had more beds and the ceiling fan was working. The backyard was awesome and we had a good time fishing catching various fish. The two cons we have to say but not really the owners fault, and it’s just a guess but who ever was here before us left the backyard filled with bottle party poppers, loose paper and some clothing. Lastly, the pole light at the end of the yard was hanging off the pole so we couldn’t enjoy night fishing. Overall I say it was fun and relaxing stay.

A Mixed bag

Stayed at place over Spring Break, March 17th-21st. The house is a mixed bag and did not appear to be well maintained, several pros and cons: Pros: • Nice location and big house. • Nice dock for fishing with green light and plenty of space. • Nice spacious yard for playing, and nice big deck for hanging out. • Nice kitchen with plenty of accessories and supplies. Cons: • One bathroom sink was unusable due to plumbing and the shower had no hot water. So we were limited to using one bathroom. Owner sent someone mid-trip who fixed sink but neglected to fix hot water for shower. • Several ceiling fans did not work. • Parts of house in disrepair, including a large piece of plywood with nails hanging off car port and soft spots in floor around fireplace that felt like you were going to fall through if you stepped on them. • All hoses at fishing/boat dock broken and not working. • No information provided for WIFI access or any other instructions for TVs. received wifi password from owner 3 days into trip. • Very creaky bunk bed. • Working bathroom looked like it was in mid renovation. • Grill was very dirty and pretty much unusable from our perspective. • Finally, no direct contact information given for owner and slow response to our issues with plumbing (had to email through VRBO several times before we got a call)

The Home

Owner was very nice and responsive. However, there are some structural issues with the home. The bunk bed was very noisy and my son could not sleep well due to the springs making loud noise at every move. The master toilet is leaking around the floor and the floor is unsafe and unstable. Needs repair desperately. There is a soft spot in the floor in the living room around the fireplace that feels very unsafe. There is a board on the stairs that is loose, easy fix but dangerous. The lights on the dock for fishing did not work so we could not fish at night and this was very disheartening for my Birthday Boy son, as this is why I rented this particular home on the canal. I called the owner and reported the issue but he failed to get it repaired during our stay. As I said, owner is very nice but this home needs repair for safety. Ratings are very important so as much as I did not want to give a bad review, I did feel like I needed to give an accurate review.
