The bungalow was exactly what we needed. It was quiet during the week, it was secure, had a nice bed and with our rental car, easy to get around. We stayed over Valentine's Day and we had an amazing time. It was perfect. We had a beautiful outdoor shower and the kitchen had everything we needed. The host is a remarkable person. We really enjoyed meeting him. Very kind. Knowledgeable, friendly. We usually never meet the hosts while travelling, but it was a real treat to meet him and chat with him. I would definitely come back and will recommend this little bungalow to anyone visiting the big island
If you intend to be out and about in Kona this is a great place to stay. If you need a place to hang out there is not a good place for more than one person and there is no TV.
It’s a cute place and great for people who are mainly out and active. The kitchen was tiny but manageable! The outside shower was an all time favorite even getting back late at night. Definitely not a place to relax though.. Main stay was quick in and outs of the bungalow and immediately passing out. Not really a place to sit and relax after going out to the beach unless you want to shower or get the bed dirty. This is also attached to another bungalow and you can hear everything but was respectful. Also if you’re not super active the outside noise will be bothersome at night as it is very loud but again if you’re active you won’t be able to hear them as you’ll crash. Main point- great for active people who need a super simple place to sleep and eat and bath. Not a place to relax and lounge. Also loved how close it was to everything!
The location is good: right above Kona and the place is very quiet. The place is very adequately supplied with kitchen 'everything-tocook', towels and there is a decent outdoors shower. For me those were positives.
However, the owner was very difficult to communicate with before the check-in. I traveled half of the world: usually I'd get the rental address right after my payment, but at this property I had to wait for the check in day, which was very stresseful because I was traveling from one location to another and did not have data on my cell.
For me this was the last resort-late minute booking and I had to accept the consequences. If given other choices in the same area I would not have selected this property.
Nice view of the ocean. The outdoor shower is an amazing experience. Great value. Check-in process was easy — we located the place at night in the dark and had no issues. Just FYI, there are loud birds/frogs at night. It was a cool experience for us heavy sleepers.
I was very pleasantly surprised when we arrived here. It's a quiet place in the hills. No TV, outdoor shower, and frogs chirping all night/morning. I'm not sure what I expected, but it wasn't this, and I was very happy with it. We arrived at night and were a little uncertain we found the right place when we turned in, but aside from that minor hiccup it's not hard to access (would be much easier had we arrived in daylight). We are staying here again on the return leg of our trek and I'm looking forward to it.
Property was as advertised. Simple but effective! The outdoor shower was very nice. A bit loud with birds/bugs at night, and the occasional chicken, but we expected that and brought earplugs and eyemasks. If you're a light sleeper, I suggest you do the same.
Minor things: Could have used a hand towel for the bathroom. Not the biggest deal, but would have been nice to have. And the bed is either kind of broken, or the legs are shorter on the side closest to the parking area, so it's lower than the other side/slanted. I found myself rolling toward the edge every night. But we used some magazines to prop up the legs and that made it fine. Not a dealbreaker by any means, just a minor inconvenience that I'm sure the owner would like to be aware of!
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would certainly come back!

Short stay
We sat out on the driveway and watched a spectacular sunset when we arrived.
Fasheed was there to welcome us and was helpful with the stove. He was very interesting to talk to about orchids.
We really liked this place. Very private and secluded up on its volcano side, ocean view, property. The outside shower is great + a full kitchen and bathroom we would stay there again
Farsheed was a pleasant host and made sure we felt welcome! The space is very simple, but that's really all you need on the island! The outdoor shower was (to my surprise) very relaxing, clean, and private :)
Microwave and toaster oven were high on shelves for a shorter person. Only shower was outside but seemed tropical when using it cause of sound of frogs or whatever chirped. Was not really a place to hang out, other than kitchen chairs, so we packed for the day and only came back to sleep.

We absolutely love the bungalow , we spent seven nights there, the outside shower was awesome, it’s a great location, close to fantastic beaches.
If you like hiking and snorkeling, we recommend the Captain Cook Trail down the beach, where we saw stingray, octopus, and dolphins, which is10 min away
We had amazing time on the island and in the bungalow.
Out host was very accommodating, we loved everything minute there.

Beautiful view, bungalow was clean and while very simplistic, it was exactly what we needed. Loved the outdoor shower! Fell in love with this place quickly and would definitely book it again when we visit again.
This nature inspired get-a-way is so perfect for seeing a side of Hawaii. First impression was delightful. Communication with host was immediate and helpful. Parking was close, ample and simple. The accommodations were spotless, clean, and inviting including the useful kitchen. The tiny wildlife (salamanders perhaps?) making chirps was the highlight of the place as was the relaxing, outdoor hot shower. The temperature at night in July was so perfect for sleeping. Of note, the pictured air conditioner is not listed in the posting because it is not functional. Would highly recommend.
Fabulous little bungalow that served our island hopping needs. We were booked elsewhere and needed a place for a few nights post diving in Kona. The bungalow is as advertised. The outdoor shower was a delightful experience! Loved listening to the frogs. The window over the A/C could use a curtain as there is some line of sight inside from the garage. Some hooks in the bathroom for towels to air dry would be fabulous. Also since we were in town for water activities, having a few more hooks outside or along the wall inside would have been majorly helpful for airdrying snorkel/scuba gear. Amenities were absolute plus for this rental!

We will remember this place!
Me and my wife stayed together here for a night, we wished we could have booked to stay longer, it was a beautiful scene and very comfortable home. We will definitely be back one day. The owner had an easy check-in and out process. Definitely worth the stay. Mahalo!
Our host was very responsive. The location was convenient and easy to find. The amenities were sufficient, we had all our needs met… a comfy bed, bathroom facilities and kitchenette.
