This is our Newest Cabin and we are very excited about it. Please, come and unwind under our screened in porch with nothing but the pine trees to chill out with you. This is rustic elegance at its best. This little cabin is the perfect place for you and your special someone to just get away and unplug (but not unplug tooo much, we still have Dish and WiFi). It has a king bed and yes, there are blinds on the windows. Feel free to play a game of washers or horseshoes right outside your front door or play checkers on the front porch. The Cabin has a fully equipped kitchen on the porch. A grill and fire pit are available for your personal enjoyment.

I was looking for a few days of weekday retreat and found it. There were a few other guests on the property but it still was quiet and peaceful. If you're looking for an escape from Dallas Fort Worth that's not an all day drive then this is it!
We was wanting to get away and go camping, even for just 1 night, so a cabin was the best choice. We were very comfortable, the hosts were very polite. Yes we probably will go back.
My wife and I enjoyed our quick get away from the city. Cabin had all the amenities we needed and some extras. We will be returning in the future with our children for another get away.
Really enjoyed our stay!

Disliked: Cleanliness
Not clean
The cabin is quaint. The room was dirty! Looked like the sheets had blood stains! The shower looked like someone had just used it! There was trash on and under the night stands! Bed is so uncomfortable. We barely slept! We will not be coming back. I reached out about the cabin being dirty and never heard from anyone! Not a let me fix it or a sorry. Would not recommend
We needed a quiet getaway. This property was perfect. The screened in porch was a great place to relax. The trails in the trees were beautiful. Very laid back and refreshing.
The setting was beautiful, but the cabin was just ok. It was not very clean. Blinds were missing so other could see into the cabin. The shower and shower head needed a major cleaning.
The Lazy Squirrel exceeded our expectations in every way! The bedroom and bathroom are beautiful and cozy, the area around the cabin is serene and lovely, and it was just close enough to Tyler State Park that we could pop back over for a late evening swim after dinner.
The hosts think of *everything*, from a soft robe on the back of the bathroom door to real half-and-half instead of creamer next to the coffee maker (I'd brought my own just in case) to a plastic tub of feed next to the bench by the koi pond.
Firewood, fresh-from-the-coop eggs and jars of their own honey are all available for a very reasonable charge.
My husband and I are already talking about coming back.
Thank you for making our Anniversary getaway so perfect!
This was a wonderful experience for the two of us--exactly what we desperately needed.
We arrived after dark and had quite a difficult time reading the signs and finding our Cabin.
We managed to get everything unloaded and were getting our bearings inside the cabin when we heard someone knocking at the door.
The gentleman politely said he thought he had rented the cabin. We discussed it a few minutes and realized we were in the Pines Cone instead of the Lazy Squirrel.
You might make a note that after dark one cannot read the unlit signs you have placed. If course we had no flashlight--neither did the other couple.
I'm glad we managed to figure it out.
All and all, it was great, and we really enjoyed the frogs serenading us and the morning birds singing for us and the gentle rainfall .
If we can swing it, we would definitely like to make a return visit. We will also spread the word about your little piece of heaven.
Thanks a bunch.

Comfortable stay. Didn’t use kitchen really because we ate in Tyler. And on vacation the kitchen is CLOSED!! Enjoyed catching a few fish at the pond and seeing the purple martins!
We absolutely loved the Lazy Squirrel! The natural setting and quaint environment was just what we needed. The cabin was super clean, had everything we needed plus extras we didn't expect. We will definitely be back and it can't be soon enough.
Very comfortable and peaceful even during the rain storms. The large screened in patio made a pleasant place to just chill and listen to the rain and thunder, even at 2am. We're looking forward to a return trip.
Everything was excellent. We even took a UV light to check it and found absolutely nothing. I wish my own place was this clean. The only issue we really had was the quality of the cookware, but when we asked for a replacement skillet, it was immediately replaced. I’d definitely go again! I just wish we hadn’t have had to leave the evening before our planned checkout because of the incoming winter storm!
Cabin was great and clean. Property was beautiful. My only complaint is that the cabins were all pretty close together so no outside privacy. It was fine for us but I couldn't tell from the pics online.
The Lazy Squirrel cabin did not disappoint. We were impressed with all the details & extra perks. Cooking on the screened porch was a nice experience. Enjoyed our time sitting around the firepit & was grateful for the supply of firewood provided. Would definitely stay again.
