About this property

Namaste Farms; Private Working Wool Sheep Farm in Heart of Wine Country 501c3

Namaste Farms farm stays are educational and operated under a 501c3 dedicated to the preservation of agriculture and fiber arts. You’re support is greatly appreciated.
Namaste Farms Main cottage is only 1/2 a mile from the city limits, it has a rural feel and is centrally located to all wineries and most of the major equestrian facilities including Galway Downs and California Ranch Company. For those who are coming to Temecula for horse shows, we also have a large barn with bedded stalls and turnouts (for an additional fee). There are designated horse trails right outside our gates which will even take you to Galway Downs. If you're into golf, you can enjoy Temecula's 7 PGA golf courses or Pechanga Casino which are also within a short driving distance to the farm. If horses or golf isn't your thing, you can visit Temecula Valley wineries which are all within 1/2-3.8 miles of the cottage gates. The wineries are not within walking distance of each other, and if you want to peruse all of them, we can arrange a driver for you (28.00/hour) who will drive (Audi or Mercedes) and take you anywhere within Temecula/Murrieta while happily waiting for you so you can quickly go to your next destination. If you're not interested in any of the above activities and simply want a "staycation," you can hang out here where you're welcomed to walk around the farm and interact with the animals. At night, can enjoy the sounds of serenity (which includes farm animal vocalizations) while roasting marshmallows at our wine barrel fire pit!
We are dog friendly, but to keep our free range animals safe (and we have had them injured or killed by people not recognizing that dogs are predatory by nature), please keep your dog easily under control and on a short leash at all times. Also, because it's not possible to control your dog on a long line, dogs may NOT be tied or tethered anywhere on the property. In addition, for the sake of the antique furniture and our hand crafted door, do not leave your dog alone in the cottage unless they are crate trained and in a crate. If you need to leave your NON-barking dog here, occasionally we have a bedded stall we put your four legged friend in. Also, If you want to let your dog off leash, about 2 blocks down the dirt road (off property), there is a large scrub field where you can let your dog run free.
This booking is for the main cottage which is upscale and comfortable. It includes a kitchenette, and charmingly rustic bathroom and galvanized steel shower. The main cottage also contains the loft (entered via a ladder) so please tell us if you prefer not to sleep in the loft we must know ahead of time so so we can make up a beautifully adorned ground floor bed. This is a bit of production, so once again, we need to know ahead of time. Also, the listed price is for the two people, and each additional person after that will be charged a fee. To prevent additional charges upon arrival, please put the accurate number of people in the reservation.
We encourage guests to feel at home and enjoy the peaceful farm environment which extends beyond the cottage. If you have more guests in your group that you wish to join you but prefer them in their own cottage, please check out the Hay Barn cottage in a separate listing: https://www.vrbo.com/1461531. We also have two glamping experiences, of which one is in an elaborate Treehouse.
If you like hanging out on the farm, we welcome you to explore. There is a communal area with a fire pit, grill and patio furniture to hang out and roast marshmallows or simply sit and enjoy the musings of sheep, goats, horses, peacocks, roosters et al... Please feel at home and enjoy the peaceful farm environment which extends beyond the cottage.
Keep in mind that we are not a "pretend farm" set up to simply attract people to our facility. This is an actual working farm where shepherdess, Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and her working dogs, Lacey, Lad and Nesta work every day. This means there is dirt, dust, chickens, peacocks, alfalfa, sheep, bugs, and other living beings associated with nature and farm life. People who've not had the opportunity to experience the beautiful and grounding life on a working farm may not understand this. I do stress that if you're an animal lover who is excited about staying at a true working farm, your co-guests may not share your verve. Please let them know there are farm animal vocalizations which, while music to your ears, may not be music others. There is also dirt, dust, very little concrete or pavement, and all guests will surely leave with dust on their shoes. That said, I'm a frequent Louboutin wearer and I regularly chassé in my stilettos; dirt ground and all.
Once again, if you need more room, you can book the other cottages.

Great weekend
This property is so unique! We loved how friendly the owners were and all of the information they provided about all of the animals and history of the property. We were able to feed the baby sheep and walk anywhere in the property freely. The guest house was so cute. Very accurately described in the ad. A bit small for 3 of us girls but we made it work. The bathroom is a bit dark but really fits the feel of the farm. Great location and close to wineries, grocery store and coffee shop (no coffee pot so bring your own). Great experience and great for kids.

Funky fun place to stay
Goats, sheep, roosters, peacocks, dogs and cats create a beautiful harmony and wonderful experience. Cottage is small, not real practical, but intimate and comfortable. Owners are generous, open, and share their lives willingly with guests. Highly recommend. Would be great for kids to experience.

Wonderful reprieve from concrete living
Farm is full of life, and hosts are very gracious. From the moment you walk on to the property you feel a sense of peace. Rescued dogs, newborn lambs, and a high strutting gorgeous peacock lead the welcoming committee. Highly recommend a stay on the Namaste Farm.

Incredible Farm Cabin in Wine Country
If you like animals and incredibly decorated cabins, then you will love this property. Everything Natalie told us prior to visiting was true, which we loved! We loved the experience of being on a farm, driving down the dirt road, and waking up to the sound of roosters. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and we got to see the newborns on the farm as well. I am very thankful she stressed the fact that it is a working farm! Her property is definitely more of an experience than just a place to stay! We loved visiting and would recommend if you are stopping in Temecula!

Great Farm Adventure!
My kids and I had a great time staying at Namaste Farms! Natatlie, the owner, was very welcoming and sure to check in with us, to ensure all our needs were met. She even gave us a tour of the farm, showing us how her dogs are trained to herd the sheep, gave us carrots to feed the horses, and welcomed us to explore the farm. And, the adorable dog "Goobie" was quietly waiting outside our door each morning to greet us <3

A lovely charming cabin near wine country
The cabin was very clean and charming, and it was lovely getting to see all the animals around the property. Our hostess was so enjoyable to talk with, and she is very passionate about her business. She even gave us a bottle of wine! We loved our stay here.

About the host

Hosted by Natalie Redding

Host profile image
My name is Natalie Redding (Nat Geo Wild's, Shear Madness) and I'm a shepherdess. I travel the globe teaching about wool and other protein fibers, as well as promoting positivity in agriculture. I have a B.S. and M.S. in Animal Science and farming is my lively hood and my passion.

Why they chose this property

Farm life is both serene and educational. Most people never have the opportunity to stay on a true working farm and for many, it is truly a dream come true.

What makes this property unique

During the spring, there are bottle lambs, and babies o'plenty. There are free range chicks and chickens, peafowl and one very friendly rescue standard poodle, Goobie. Year round, we have a propane fire pit where you can sit and watch the animals while the sun sets. Walk around and feed the animals treats of carrots or corn and if you don't have any, just ask us!
