Amazing Aterno!

Wow! This property literally took our breath away from the moment we drove up the cypress tree lined driveway. We had never seen anything like it. The main house and guest house are surrounded by vineyards and the most amazing views I have ever seen as it sits on top of a hill. Our favorite thing to do while there was fire up the pizza oven, open up some wine, and just sit on the terrace and take in the amazing views. The sunsets are not to be missed! The bedrooms and bathrooms in the home are all exquisite and the attention to detail can be seen everywhere. I think we spent more time outside than inside as you just can’t get enough of the views all around. Another favorite experience was the kids flying some kites off the front part of the house for HOURS while the adults just soaked up all the beauty around us. Soooooo beautiful on both the inside and out. Such a comfortable home that we so enjoyed with all our family. We plan on making this a family destination year after year!

An unforgettable stay in a picturesque location!

The moment you turn off the main road and see the winding cypress-lined driveway snaking up the hillside through the lush vineyard, you immediately start to feel like you've arrived in Tuscany. This property is so much more than the pictures can even illustrate! As others have mentioned, the 360-degree views are breathtaking and create the perfect atmosphere for a relaxing weekend in wine country. In the mornings, we sipped coffee while watching the sunrise to the east, and in the evenings, ended our days with a glass of wine while watching the sunset to the west. Kelsey is incredibly helpful and responsive when it comes to planning your stay and is full of great recommendations for things to do while you' re in town. On our last night, we hired a local chef to cook an amazing meal using the pizza oven in the back yard, which was not only an unforgettable experience for our guests but a fraction of the cost of taking that large of a group out to a nice restaurant. If you're looking for a weekend escape in the heart of wine country, this property (along with the great experience with Kelsey the property manager) would be hard to beat! We're definitely looking forward to coming back soon!

Incredible family stay for all ages

We had a large family gathering for Christmas including 16 adults, 3 toddlers, and 4 dogs. The estate and nearby guest house were perfectly equipped for our needs. We planned to cook many meals together so I contacted Kelsey before our visit to check what appliances were available. She responded promptly, and we only had to bring a few specialty appliances with us. The bedrooms were comfortable, and the bathrooms were well supplied with toiletries and even things like bandaids, medicines, cotton balls, etc. The hilltop view of the vineyard and surrounding area was gorgeous, especially when the fog rolled in early in the morning. There is a relaxing patio and grass area that everyone enjoyed, especially the dogs. Finally, I was extremely impressed with the amount and variety of toys. The toddlers never fought over toys because there were too many to go around. There were also plenty of toys for older children. We had a minor issue with a loose door knob, but it was resolved quickly after check out and our deposit was returned in full. Kelsey was a terrific host and was available during our entire stay for questions and concerns. We would definitely stay again!

Special Property with postcard views

We vacationed with two other families with multiple children. Aterno was able to accommodate all of us comfortably. The kitchen was amazingly stocked with every possible cooking item you could need to feed large family and guests. The views were breathtaking with well-kept grounds that made us feel like we were in the Italian countryside. We will definitely be going back again.

Beautiful Views

There was plenty of room for our family ( 6 couples and 2 singles) The kitchen was a good size with plenty of supplies to allow us to cook and eat in the house. There was enough room for parking 6 cars without having to hassle with blocking anyone in. The host was very helpful in every way possible, and very quick to respond if we had a problem. The only issue I would warn guest about is when we were there, the is not enough water pressure or hot water in the master bathroom or shared bathroom. It made it nearly impossible to get ready for a dinner reservation with one partially working shower for the 6 people that needed to use it. A plumber was contacted and came out to try and fix it, however, it was not fixable at that time. I hope that they fix the plumbing issue and guests can shower in their perspective bathrooms.

Unforgettable Experience

Breathtaking views, beautiful and tastefully furnished house with all necessary amenities for a weekend stay. Our group had a wonderful time and if we come back to Paso Robles we know where we now have a favourite location. The checkin and checkout process was smooth and easy to follow and Kelsey was great responding to questions and provided everything we needed ahead of time. Thank you

Gorgeous property!

Such a beautiful location! This was our home base for my husbands birthday celebration, we had friends join us from various locations and everyone loved the house and beautiful surroundings. We sat outside every evening chatting and drinking wine and enjoying the sunset, it felt like being in Tuscany! Kelsey was great to work with, very responsive to all my questions and had great suggestions for the catered dinner we held for my husband. The house was very well stocked and we had all we needed to make meals. One thing to be aware of is that the beds in some of the rooms don’t fit adults. We had both the main and guest house and two of the bedrooms had very small twin beds and another had a pullout trundle bed, which our guests said wasn’t very comfortable. If you’re staying with younger kids, it should be fine but for all adults I’d have preferred a different set up. Otherwise our trip was amazing and we had a memorable time!

Beautiful, serene, get away

Great location to spend time with family. Just a few minor hiccups but nothing major. Dogs had a great time running around, and we enjoyed sitting outside taking in the views day and night. New coffee makers would be a plus. The two there took an hour to brew a pot. There was a Kurig but not enough pods for the family. We stopped By Costco on our way in to purchase pods, but they didn’t have any available. The drinking water out of the fridge was only a trickle. To us, these were minor inconveniences and we made it work. Definitely would recommend this location to friends.

Family Reunion

We were had a reunion with family from both SoCal and NoCal at the lovely Aterno Estate. The house is large and comfortably furnished and easily accomodated the 13 adults and 1 baby. We did a lot of home cooking together and found the kitchen to be well stocked. A local Trader Joes and Vons and the Farmers Market met all our needs in terms of supply. The only downside with our stay was that the dishwasher was not working at the time of our stay but, Kelsey, our lovely host provided paper plates etc so we could minimize the amount of hand washing we needed to do. The views from the estate are absolutely breathtaking and we did hikes around the estate early morning followed by morning meditation on the front porch each day. So peaceful! The evenings were largely spent on the back porch where the sun went down. Again - spectacular views every evening. And the after long nights of board games and debates, our family enjoyed shooting stars from the estate every night. In terms of local attractions, we visited Sensario, Full Draw Winery and Law Estates Winery. We recommend all of them. We couldn't have asked for anything more and I am certain we will shall be returning. Kelsey was a joy to deal with, by the way.

Wine Country Retreat

I spent an incredible few days at the Villa celebrating me and my husband’s birthday with our group of friends. The home itself is very clean and included everything we needed for our stay. House manager Kelsey went above and beyond to make our stay special and was a delight to work with! This is my one and only complaint with the property— the house is supplied with well-water and smells strongly of sulphur. No amount of plug-ins that Kelsey so thoughtfully added helped with this problem. I read most (if not all) of the reviews before booking this home and nowhere did I notice anyone mentioning this as a problem. Perhaps it wasn’t a problem for them? But it was a big problem for our entire group. It triggered my pregnant friend’s nausea, which I spent the weekend apologizing for and feeling horrible about. Kelsey assured me that the water was safe to use/shower with, but my pregnant friend was never at ease. Overall, the group had a good sense of humor about it—the weather was perfect and we spent most of our time outside of the home, which helped. We used bottled water that was supplied to brush our teeth, so the extra water was nice to have. But this is definitely something I would have liked to have known ahead of time. In summary: Beautiful home, very clean, thoughtful touches (like a delicious charcuterie board, wine and water upon arrival!) with the one downside for us being the sulphuric water and the odor that comes with it.

A spectacular and immaculate home and property

The photos and description although beautiful and accurate, cannot fully capture the exceptional elegance of this home and property. From the moment you enter the private gates, you immediately feel the magnificence of this place. The entire property is absolutely immaculate and the loving attention to detail can be seen and felt in every corner of the home. The main house and guest house are luxuriously appointed and each bedroom has wonderfully comfortable beds and bedding. Every possible amenity is thought of, and then some. The cupboards and drawers are labeled so you know exactly where everything goes, and even the checkout instructions are in a lovely frame in the kitchen. The home sits on top of a hill so you are in your own secluded and private haven. The views from every side of the home are beyond spectacular. I go to Aterno each year for a quiet, personal retreat where I can completely relax and revitalize. Each morning I walk through the perfectly maintained vineyard, taking in the beauty of the land. In the afternoon, the peacefulness of the home is perfect for meditation and yoga on the shaded patio surrounded by the phenomenal smell of rosemary bushes. Then in the evening, nothing can describe the sensations of sitting outside with my feet up on a lounger with a glass of wine, feeling the warm breeze rolling over the hills, and watching the stunning sunset. It is unforgettable; it is heaven. This property would be perfect for anyone wanting a serene retreat like I do each year, or for an intimate wedding, or a family reunion. Anything that calls for coming together to celebrate love, joy, healing, or family… this home has such a warm and loving energy that stays with you. I cannot recommend Aterno highly enough.

Simply breathtaking!

To put it simply, we were floored by this home. When you are approaching the address, you will turn a corner and see it perched a top a very large hill. Its beauty from a distance only hints at what's to come upon your arrival. The long winding driveway, leading past the rows of grape vines and giant flowering bushes of rosemary lead up a very steep climb to the main house. The house is very large one story with amazing views of both sunrise and sunset. Coming from the East Coast we were up before the sun every morning and it was wonderful using the houses blankets (and coffee pot!) sitting on the covered porch watching the sun climb over the horizon. The home is well designed and can easily hold several families. The porch surrounds 3/4's of the property so we also enjoyed the opposite side of the house were we were able to watch the sunset in the evening. It is well decorated and have the necessary amenities one would expect from a high end home. Our visit included my family of 3, plus both sets of in-laws. There is plenty of seating outside (as well as inside) for everyone, including an area near the outdoor water fountains if you want them on. We enjoyed being in the farmland, and also being in close proximity to the wineries. They also have a wonderful property manager who is incredibly responsive, and is an excellent resource for area activities, so while we did some planning before arrival, we were able to utilize her sage advice for area things we might have missed. We cannot wait to return with more people to enjoy this home. It's pictures simply do not do the property justice! It's sincerely a slice of heaven on earth, particularly if you are looking to escape the hustle of city living. Go, already!
