Very good

The location is good, beds are comfy, and the host is very nice. The property has lots of deferred maintenance, I had to buy TP and kleenex, and there is just one shower. This is my first vrbo, I must have missed in the description where 3 bed 2 bath sleeps six translates to 1.5 bathrooms…

Disappointed
The dishes were all dirty when we got there, it was really disgusting. It seemed as though one of the beds sheets had not been cleaned, there were crumbs in the bed. None of the bath mats had been cleaned in what seemed like a long time. There’s a bunch of garbage / clutter over the washer and dryer. The whole house felt dirty. We had read the reviews and knew it wasn’t going to be great, but we were planning a very last minute trip and this house was close to the family we were visiting. Unless you are in a serious pinch like we were, I would absolutely never suggest staying here.
We stayed here for a vacation week. We have visited Charleston yearly and stayed at different places. The location was great. Our concerns are with some of the house items. First, while there is a dishwasher and it does run, it does not clean dishes at all. Clearly this needs to be replaced. Second, There was no garage bags for us to use which is a normal item that rental properties provide. Third, we were provided one bath towel each for a week. We have never had an issue with the number of bath towels provided at other rentals. Also, there are no towels racks in the bathrooms. You can see they had them at one time but never replaced them. Lastly the drywall weather rot to the right of the backyard door is very concerning. Clearly this has been here for a while. Based on all of this, we don't believe this house is cared for and is viewed ad just a rental property. This place would be a better experience for future guests if these items are addressed.

Family vacation
I thought the property was pretty rough and didn’t quite meet our needs.
Positives:
The bedrooms were spacious.
Location was good
Neighbor was very nice and let us use his recycle bin for our recyclables.
Negatives:
Only one shower.
No towel bars in either bath and the hand towel rack in the half bath fell off.
Refrigerator water and ice dispenser did not work.
In back yard there was two moldy chairs and and the grill was rusty.
Very small kitchen for our party of 6.
TP in vent in downstairs. Maybe to prevent rattling. Upper bedroom vent would rattle when AC came on.
Had to go out on day 3 and purchase TP and paper towels. No hand towels in the kitchen. Very limited supplies in kitchen. Looked for a small paring knife and wasn’t available.
Not a very “warm” facility. Bare walls (several with holes in them) and no fun “extras” like games, cards or puzzles that we have experienced in our previous VRBO’s.
We rented the VRBO to be near our son who was having surgery at MUSC. The location was close to MUSC, near grocery stores and restaurants and in a quiet area where we could sleep. The beds were so very comfortable. We would stay here again most definitely.
Lovely VRBO in Shem Creek area in Mt Pleasant. Love the location as it's convenient to mainland of Charleston. The owner is a super host for sure! The place is amazing. Highly recommend staying here. Plenty of room for everyone!
Booked this property mainly as sleeping quarters for adult children visiting to celebrate Christmas. All the bedrooms were big and the beds very comfortable, the kitchen and tv area were small tho. But the property was central to many things .
Perfect location. Lots of restaurants within a couple miles. Minutes from downtown Charleston. Enjoyed being close to downtown and lots of restaurants and breweries. Perfect townhome for family or group of friends. Easy check in process and Stephanie our host even left us a couple snacks oppon arival.
Fair price for the place. Clean, great AC, comfy beds, no nonsense townhome. Clean linens, fresh towels awaiting our arrival - everything we needed was available. Easy to get to Mount Pleasant bars and restaurants, and quick grocery option less than 5 away with Harris Teeter. Great spot for a quick getaway!
This was the perfect spot for a long weekend trip with family. The bedrooms are huge and checkin process was easy. Great location, just a quick drive into downtown Charleston. Only issue was the upstairs shower needed some drano. Other than that it was great!
Ok...here's what I put together for the vrbo review.
977 is a qaint condo in Mt. Pleasant. Its easy to get to and is convenient to everything in charleston.
It is in an older condo subdivision and is hard to find at night. Definitely needs house numbers outside on the porch door.
The condo has been freshly painted, it's not very decorated. It was exceptionally clean.
The beds were the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on. So much so, we are looking at getting one for our home.
The kitchen and washer and dryer are very nice and very accessible.
The neighborhood is very cozy in the daylight and neighbors are very nice. The screened in porch was our favorite spot throughout the weekend.
Notes to the hostess:
The pictures of the bedrooms are perfect. You may want to add mattress covers to keep stains and bedbugs. The lip in the upstairs bathroom needs to be leveled out or fixed where you dont stub your toe every time you go to use the toilet or shower.
The sitting area was cheaply done. The sofa covers looked horrible and there was not enough seating for 6 people. You could have taken the covers off, brought the loveseat downstairs and added new throw pillows and it would have looked much nicer.
The back yard was a mess. Nothing to sit on. The grill was questionable and the yard had not been cleaned up from the winter. Great space if it was cleaned up with seating and a little fireplace with the grill. The front screen door hinge was also broken.

Not what advertised as
First words are ** brand new and sparkling clean**
This townhouse is not brand new or sparkling clean. Not sure if it is a old listing but it was disappointing. Location is quiet, and linens are comfortable. Has such potential, not maintained well. The communication is good.

Adorable comfortable townhouse!
We had a wonderful stay, and the home easily fit 4 adults and 2 kids. We loved having large bedrooms for us all, a kitchen to use, and a nice family room to relax. The location was lovely as it was outside the hustle and bustle of downtown, but close enough to easily get around anywhere. Any store you can imagine needing is right in the area, so grocery shopping was a breeze. Free and close parking made it so easy! We recommend heading over to the Isle of Palms beach area - just a quick easy beautiful drive away!
