We had great time at the cabin, which is very cozy, comfortable and well-maintained. The neighborhood is pleasant and quiet, very family-friendly. My kids enjoyed proximity of a sledding hill. Location is very convenient- just a few minutes drive from multiple skiing areas.
Adorable little cabin that packs a lot into a small footprint. Close to sugarbowl (where we were skiing), and the outdoor area was a lot of fun for the kids who found a little sledding hill and a great places for making snow forts. There are 4 beds in one of the rooms which was great for our little ones...and another room with a small bed, great for our teenager.
Just as described, cozy cabin great for our family of 4. Private sled hill about 10 minutes walk from the cabin, which my kids loved. Short drive to various ski resorts. Robin was very responsive, helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend!
My husband and our 3 children (10,7,2) stayed here for 3 days, and I wish we would have stayed longer. The house is incredibly charming and comfortable. It is very easy to keep the house at the temperature you desire. The kitchen is easy to use, and the family room is very welcoming. If you are sensitive to fragrances, bring your own bedding, as the bunk bedding was a little too fragrant for me (I'm very sensitive to fragrances--resulting in headaches and stuffy noses). The master and second bedroom bedding were tolerable, which was a welcomed surprise. And the rest of the house smelled wonderfully neutral. Every bed was comfortable! The amount of space around the house to play in the snow (so much snow!) was perfect for our needs. Communication with the owner was easy and enjoyable.I am pretty picky about comfort and scent, and I really enjoyed our stay and plan to make it an annual tradition. I am so happy we found this gem. Thank you so much!! :)
My husband and I took our two grandchildren on a snow trip and this wonderful cabin was so perfect for us! It is close to the Soda Springs ski area. The cabin is comfortable, cozy and well-stocked in every way. Robin is an amazing host- always available and happy to answer questions and be helpful. Our grandkids LOVED that there is a private sledding hill and had a great time there! Highly recommended.
We loved the cabin. I was a tiny bit worried about the fireplace heating, but it was absolutely fine (and we were there when it was in the 20s outside!). Kitchen is great, beds are comfortable. Lots of fun games and movies! We took our kids to Soda Springs for skiing/tubing, and it's incredibly close!
Well-equipped cabin, great for families. Very close to skiing and sledding, only 20 minutes away from a grocery stores.
Robin, the host, is very welcoming and friendly, always ready to answer any questions.
HOA’s snow plow was very quick to remove the snow after the snow storms.
Our kids enjoyed the sledding hill and proximity of the river. We had wonderful time!
Wonderful cabin for a family ski getaway. Fit our family of 5 perfectly. The kids were very happy in the bunk beds. Rooms were comfortable. Lots of fun games for great family bonding time. Kitchen had everything we needed. Close and easy to get to Sugar Bowl for skiing. We look forward to returning in the future!
We stayed here for a weekend trip to Sugar Bowl and were very happy:
- Easy to find in the middle of the night, with clear check-in instructions and a plowed driveway
- Comfy beds
- Well appointed kitchen with good cookware
- Very responsive host
Only think to note is there is no wifi, but our hot spot worked fine so that was not an issue for us.
We will be back!
This cabin is on a low-traffic street with easy access to hiking trails in winter or summer. I-80 white noise exists outside, but inside the house is very quiet. The kitchen is stocked and the bathrooms all work well. The furniture is all clean and comfortable. There isn't wifi in the house, which is our only cautionary note.
Robin was so great and really accommodating. We enjoyed our time and the location was perfect for sledding. The house has everything we needed. Thank you!
This place was just what we needed. Near Soda Springs without the expense. Neighbors were friendly and helpful, host responsive. Clear hosts spend lots of time here, which means a bit less storage space but benefit of lots of indoor and outdoor games and eating spots. Highway noise audible, but not disturbing.
We stayed during a snow storm. The power went out, which isn't something rare for the area. Our only issue was that there was only a gas fireplace for our heat source when the power was out. It was not enough and we wish there was a back up. Other then that, the communication with the owner Robin was great! She was easy to get in touch with and seemed concerned for us during the storm. There were flashlights and candles available for the outage as well. The gas stove allowed us to still warm up food during the storm. The community plows made a big difference in getting out of the driveway/community neighborhood when we needed to.
The cabin itself was cute and had a lot of blankets, pillows, towels, and beds for us all. The location was great also.
There were plenty of games to play when the power was out as well.
Only improvement I would make is a hot tub :)
We loved everything about our stay and will certainly be returning in the future. Great location, wonderful cabin! Thank you for opening up your home to my family!
I was hesitant at first to book my first VRBO, but was pleasantly surprised to find such a welcoming sweet cabin. Inside, everything had been newly and thoughtfully remodeled in pine. The bedrooms were all so comfortable, wish I’d had more children to fill them. The bedding was cozy with quality sheets and bright prints. The linen closet was stocked full with quality towels. The kitchen had everything we needed, except a lemon squeezer. The stove more quickly cooked foods than mine at home. The DVD selection kept our humor up, tasteful selection for families to watch from comfy couches. So much care went into the cabin’s décor: sleds, old ski’s/snowshoes, fun local events posters. Loved playing badminton / volleyball / horseshoes and corn toss in the backyard. Couple of small tables setup outside on the porch to eat amidst the towering pines. Was welcomed by mosquitos when venturing down by the river, so spent most of our time 18m drive away at China Cove on Donner Lake, a beach that wasn’t crowded. Fished, swam, rode bikes and shopped through old town Truckee, 20m away. The River Ranch provided the best place to eat alongside the river, 25m away. Love of family, adventure and fun was evident throughout this home. Any question I had was promptly answered by Robin! Thanks for everything (including a way for me to retrieve the pants I left there)!

My family of 5 had a great time at this place. The kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfy. The small beach and pond, that is within walking distance to the house, was an added bonus. We were really able to bond and have family time in the trees, which is exactly what we were looking for.
This is a thoughtfully, tastefully decorated and cozy cabin that is great for a family of four or five. I would love to see it in the summer when not surrounded by snow.
