NEXT - the Story …
WHERE DOES ALL THAT WATER COME FROM? I am so often left wondering.
THE SETTING. It's all about the creek! Private, soothing and relaxing is how our guests always describe Rushing Waters Cabin, a 1200 square foot rustic cabin sitting just feet from a rushing, meandering creek -- in a MAGNIFICENT SETTING! The boulder-strewn creek borders the heavily-wooded 1-acre lot for 250 feet. If you're at the cabin after a good rain you'll enjoy a roaring creek and small waterfalls rushing over the boulders - amazing. The cabin is strategically sited where you get the best view of the creek from the whole living area. If you have never stayed creekside - this is the way to go -- creek runs right next to cabin and you hear it rushing ALL THE TIME -- so relaxing! Mother nature’s lullaby. Lots to see in the area but plan to spend time at the cabin to enjoy the creek ... it will call to you. .
EVERYONES FAVORITE SPOTS. Everyone raves about the screened sleeping porch, sitting right on the creek. It’s a favorite spot to enjoy the views and sounds of the creek, with its comfy futon and gas fireplace. I love having my hot morning coffee out there, wrapped in a blanket, sitting fireside on a cold morning. Or spending an afternoon reading a book there. Definitely the best spot to take in the magic around you, regardless of the weather.
There’s also the comfy window seat that opens up to the sleeping porch and also overlooks the creek. Or the comfy leather sofa in the living area, with its huge stacked-stone, wood-burning fireplace.
The creek is lit so you can enjoy it in the evenings. There is also an outdoor firepit to enjoy a cozy fire off the deck and an outdoor dining area overlooking the creek. Gas barbecue too.
THE FOREST. The cabin is located amongst a forest of tall trees and is heavily shaded creekside. Many of the trees are 50 feet tall or more. We have lots of rhodos and azaleas blooming from May on. So even in the winter there will be the green of the rhodos all around you. The creekside is usually cool. Because of the creek and our elevation (about 1500 feet) it’s always cooler here - even in summer.
THE CABIN. We recently painted the exterior and decks - cabin looks beautiful. New laminate floors throughout home; carpet in bedrooms. The cabin is rustic, with cedar tongue and groove throughout, giving it the cozy, lodge feel you envision for a 'mountain cabin.' Modern open--plan living area, large living--dining area, massive stone wood fireplace. Executive lodgings with rusic appeal. Cabin is decorated with style and comfort in mind (not grandmas's plaid sofa).
In the open living area you will find a comfy leather sofa and huge club chair - softest leather ever - relax with a view of the creek thru the sliding doors, the fire roaring on the stone fireplace and a good movie on the tv. Or lay out on 8-foot window seat that overlooks the creek. Indoor dining seats 4-6 and outdoor dining seats 6. Cabin has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths and sleeps 4 in beds: the master bedroom has a king bed with a full bath, plus an electric fireplace; the second bedroom has a queen bed. Quality beds are comfortable. Window seat can sleep 2 small kids (probably not the best for adults). Full -size futon (with a real mattress) on the screened sleeping porch is available for those who want to sleep and “glamp' by the creek..
Fully-equipped kitchen. Pod and regular coffeemaker. Air-fryer/convection oven. Central air and heat. Washer/dryer. Alexa. Lots of blankets and cushions. Games, cards, puzzles and books too. All the comforts of home. Our guests always comment on how we have 'everything'!
WIFI; Flat screen HD TVs available in the living room and both bedrooms. We cut the cable and all tvs are on Roku streaming. Or bring your fire stick or other streaming device. *** CELL PHONE and all its features should work on WiFi calling setting.
PETS ALLOWED. We welcome your dogs. We charge a 1-time pet cleaning fee, that's it. We love our new floors - please cut your pup’s claws b4 you arrive. No cats - they scratched the leather furniture). And not to worry --- home is aired out regularly and super clean - smells fresh and clean. No mustiness or pet odor.
Small children are OK but you MUST supervise them at all times.
