Great hosts and a really special property

This property is a hidden gem in Thurston County. The inside is fresh with many new amenities, the layout is easy to navigate with room for a large group and view is worth a mission dollars. Sitting by the fire and looking out the large bay windows at the rolling hills in the distance and farm animals in the foreground was picturesque. Our host was accommodating and quick to respond to questions we had. I would highly recommend this location.

Beautiful Countyside Getaway

Property is just as described. We had a wonderful stay. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and Brooke even left us farm fresh eggs and plenty of tea, coffee, and hot chocolate for the Keurig. The sunrise and sunset were beautiful from the expansive wall of windows. Lots of cozy places to hang out. And it was nice to watch bullet, and the cows and goats. We highly recommend this wonderful guesthouse.

Thanksgiving in the Country

My adult children and I stayed for a week over Thanksgiving. The kitchen is roomy and well stocked for making the big meal. We checked in with ease, the the check out went just as smoothly. The house is very roomy and there are several gathering places, as well as privacy in the sleeping areas. This worked out well for us. We enjoyed hiking trails, river walks, city walks, lunch in Olympia, and the extensive property with farm animals. The views from the house are breathtaking.

Family retreat

Three family couples were in town for our son’s wedding and this house was a fabulous fit. Property was better than online pics as views from picture windows were breathtaking! Comfortable and clean, host was great! Upon arrival there were fresh from the garden flowers and farm fresh eggs, we even asked for more and host happily obliged. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely Girls Weekend

A sweet weekend at the farm for 6 women. We enjoyed the view, hanging out with Bully the donkey, and the chorus of birds in the early morning. Plenty of room to spread out in common areas, comfortable beds, and thoughtful touches.

Hay day Heritage Farm Guesthouse

Only 30 minutes from Olympia, we were stunned when we walked inside this beautiful ranch house set on a small hill overlooking the farm with mountains in the background. You can’t find a more peaceful setting. The great room floor plan also made spending evenings playing games with family easy and enjoyable. It’s perfect for a family getaway when the goal is spending time with each other.

Amazing Farmhouse near Olympia

This is an amazing property and one of the best rentals I have seen. The house is spacious with four bedrooms and 2.5 baths. It is beautifully decorated and the backyard farm and surrounding areas are stunning. Our teenaged girls loved meeting Bullet, the donkey. The kitchen had everything we needed and the house was very clean. The location is about 15 minutes from the Olympia peninsula. The host was responsive and we would definitely love to stay here again.

Farm meadow view

Great spacious living room kitchen area with wonderful meadow view. Large master with masterbath that is semi seperated from adjacent 3 bedrooms that share apt size bathroom. Small tv monitor in nice living room with adjacent den area for remote work. Farm animals in adjacent pasture. I would rate this 4.5 stars if allowed.

Farmhouse retreat

It was beautiful!! It’s very large and roomy and the “kids room” even had toys in the closet that my son had so much playing with. Everything was so clean with beautiful decore. Waking up to those views in the morning was awesome! We did a whole family vacation and we had everything we needed and more than enough space. Their donkey Bullet came to greet us most nights with some of the goats! Will keep as a favorite for the future. Only downside reception was difficult but Wi-Fi worked great!

Special home on a farm

This is an outstanding property. The home, beautifully appointed, and grounds are immaculate. Everything we needed was provided - from a well furnished kitchen to comfortable beds. All instructions and directions provided by the host were accurate and easily understood . Fresh garden flowers greeted us and we delighted in seeing the farm animals, especially the donkey! Our family was able to gather here while in the area for a memorial service and we were able to visit in a peaceful setting and that was very important to us . We loved the place and highly recommend a stay. The host was the best!

Delightful farmhouse stay

This farm was the perfect setting for our family birthday celebration. We were impressed with the stunning location with a view that brought the outside in, bathing the rooms in natural light. The living and family rooms were thoughtfully appointed with comfortable sofas and chairs to encourage conversation and relaxation. The kitchen was well appointed and each appliance was excellent, making the chefs quite happy. Whether cooking or sitting around the fireplace, we could always see flocks of birds or the herd of cattle and sheep against the backdrop of the hills in this emerald valley. We all felt as if we had traveled far away to a quiet secluded spot, though in actuality some of us were minutes from our home in Olympia. A memorable stay indeed!!!

Small farm in beautiful setting south of Olympia

We had a delightful stay at the guest house on Brooke's beautiful little farm. The single story home is open and light and well equipped for cooking and eating family meals and hanging out. The view out the wall of windows facing westward is expansive, almost breathtaking. Our three year old grand-daughter, not to mention the rest of the family, was enraptured by the farm animals. Of course, Bullet was the star and was so fun for everyone. We only met Brooke as the rest of her family were busy with other tasks, but Brooke was very kind and very responsive. The family lives within distant view from the guest house. Other neighbors were equally far away in the other direction. The nearest houses in the huge westward view were on the mountaintops a few miles away. Otherwise you only see meadow and stream and forest and can hardly imagine that Olympia is only a15 minutes drive.

Farmhouse in Olympia

When I saw this listing, I had good feelings that this was going to be a great place to stay for a few days. When we pulled up to the house, we all fell in love. The ideal farm house, clean, newly renovated, beautiful open concept kitchen/Living room with an outside patio over looking the huge property. Breathless. It was amazing. To sit outside at night & watch the stars & breathe the fresh air. To wake up & have breakfast on the deck truly a great experience. Brooke was very friendly & not too far away. She made sure everything we needed was at our finger tips. From the frying pan to make our omelets in the morning to the Q-tip in the bathroom vanity. Excellent!! Everything was thought out. We all were very comfortable & had plenty of space for ourselves. Thank you for making this part of our vacation something to always remember. We also loved to hang with Bullet as well!!! Maybe one day we will return if it's still available. Many thanks for a wonderful stay. Mickey & Yosi, Rachel & Avi

About the host

Hosted by Brooke Hicks

Host profile image
Hi, I'm Brooke. I have been hosting for 5-years on another platform and am excited to offer our guesthouse on VRBO! Our whole family takes part in caring for our farm and the animals each day, rain or shine. It’s very important to us that our children are raised to appreciate and respect the beauty of farm life. Animals & producing nourishing products provide a sense of responsibility and so much joy to our family. We are committed to celebrating the history of the area and welcome you to share in the beauty of the farm.

Why they chose this property

Both my spouse & I grew up in Thurston County so after being away for about 10-years we returned to raise our family where we were raised. Thurston County has a long agricultural history. We feel very lucky to wake every morning and have the farm's serenity surround us. We hope our guests enjoy their time at the farm too.

What makes this property unique

Hayday Heritage Farm was established in July 2011 when our family purchased part of the historical Endicott pioneer homestead. When the Endicott family arrived from Indiana in 1888, they brought with them a Black Walnut seedling. The beautiful walnut tree that grew from that seed is the centerpiece of the farm today and is registered as a historical landmark. On our working farm we raise quality grass hay and registered Black Angus. Our three kids are active in 4-H and raise market steers each year to be sold at the Thurston County Youth Market Sale. Other animals that make a home here include a few goats & sheep, chickens and a donkey named Bullet. We have also raised, trained and lived with Australian Cattle Dogs for over 25 years.
