A delightful holiday
Thank you for a delightful visit to the Dordogne. This gite was in the perfect location to walk to the boulangerie, restaurant, alongside the river, parking and a steep walk up to Beynac Chateau. It was also perfectly situated for day trips to Chateau Castelnaud, Jardin Marqueyssac, Les Milandes, Saralat Markets and lunch Domaine du Chateau De Monrecour. Everything in the gite was clean, well equipped and as per the pictures. I recommend this accommodation to any wanting to visit the Perigord Noir.

Great location, clean, need to pay for parking
We had a good time this winter break in Beynac but for winter travelers be aware that the downstairs bathroom has no heating whatsoever. Also, pictures of the property could be more forthcoming about the showers which are quite dated. The ad also wasn't clear about the fact that there is no private parking. You need to park and pay near the house. The house was immaculate upon arrival and check-in information was very organized and clear. There were plenty of pans and cutlery for people wanting to cook in the property and the swing outside really does swing. My kids had a great time on it.

Full of character, perfect location, happy memories.
Sabine is exceptionally knowledgable and responsive and provided some excellent recommendations. The property is in a magical location, tucked away in the (steep) mediaeval lanes of Beynac but within east walking distance of the centre. We were a party of four adults and it worked well for us. Understated but stylish design, well appointed. Great restaurant and boulangerie within 2 mins. Highly recommend.

Charming house in heart of Beynac
We had a lovely visit to the village of Beynac, which was made even better by this lovely little house. It was perfect for two couples to share. It had every amenity we needed for our stay, and was conveniently located near parking and the town center. We thoroughly enjoyed walking to nearby restaurants and the local wine bar. Beynac castle was a short (albeit steep) walk away. The owner/rental company was very responsive when we had questions, and provided excellent information on how to get to the property and the local area. One word of caution - this house, along with any other house built so long ago, has short doorways and hallways. My 6" 5" husband had to remember to duck when entering a room, which was made a bit more difficult after sampling so much of the delicious local wines.

Perfect Location in a beautiful home
The house was warm and welcoming with everything we needed for our stay. The beautiful village of Beynac was visable out of the windows, upstairs and down. The instructions and communication made for an easy arrival and we were provided with all the information we needed to explore the perigord

A great place to stay
This was a very comfortable house for 2 couples as there was a bedroom and bathroom on each level. It was nicely furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. We were able to park our car just up the hill after purchasing a weekly voucher at the Mairie. Beynac is a beautiful village and we enjoyed the area very much. One small problem was that the windows in the lower bathroom couldn't be opened so ventilation was lacking. The constant low hum from the exhaust fan of the nearby restaurant was rather irritating, especially throughout the night. Overall, however, we would recommend this holiday rental.

Beautiful house in great location
Stayed at the house in April 2017 with our 3 children. Beautifully renovated, spacy place, well equipped with lovely patio to sit in the evenings and have a BBQ (provided). House is located in a quite sidewalk up to the castle, only meters away from the shops and a great local French restaurant. Location of the house very much helps also when it comes to unload your luggage, as it is one of the places in Beynac still easily reachable from the car park without too steep ascent. Carpark itself is appr. 200m away and you have to either buy a weekly ticket or pay 4 € per day. To unload our luggage we were able to park the car at the beginning of the sidewalk (appr. 20 m walk to the house), which raised some eyebrows by the local neighbours though. Carpark itself was empty, so we didnt pay and never got a ticket. The village Beynac is an incredible village with a magnificent castle. Lots of great things to do in the vicinity for the children (hiking, cayaking, exploring the castle,...). Will be back!

Cosy house in village
The inside of the property was airy and spacious. Great location in the centre of Beynac. Parking is an issue especially on arrival which should be explained in more detail. We also had to pay a supplement for towels and sheets which was not highlighted to us. €20 pp. Wifi service hit and miss .

Love love love!
We stayed in this beautiful home for 10 days. It should have been longer. The location was just a few vertical steps behind the top restaurant, a 50 steps from the road. The main path to the castle passed close by, but dont let this deter you. This location is very quiet and private. The windows sit up high. The house was very comfortable. We just opened up the windows and allowed the breeze to flow thru. The furniture comfortably held the 4 of us when lounging around, being lazy. I cant say enough good things about Beynac. We had a rental and visited many of the local towns and castles. Beynac would be our first choice again. No hesitation. Just jaw dropping scenery in every direction. THE most friendly faces and voices in every store. 1 euro baguettes, fresh produce, best valued local vino, local cheeses that you cant put down. Delicious french foods at your doorstep. I travel all around Europe, picking fairytale locations, no crowds. My rule is to limit duplications. So far I've only duplicated trips to a few small Italian hill towns, but I'm already planning next year's trip. Beynac and this home is on the top of my list. 10 out of 10. Thanks george

Magical Beynac
Lovely stone house in the beautiful historic town of Beynac. Was just the right size for our family with two small energetic boys. We spent sunny days paddling, swimming and cannoeing in the river and even caught a few fish. The valley has many fantastic castles to explore including Beynac castle itself just a short walk from the house. To top it off there is a fine restaurant right next to the house. Fantastic location - we will be back!

Good House, some hassles
The house is as advertised and pictured. Right in the center of Beynac on a super picturesque path up to the Chateau. A reasonable value, given the prime location. Very nice upstairs suite, OK second suite, good kitchen and living area. Downside for us was that it is managed by a local agency, which we found much harder to communicate with than the typical VRBO rental. Email questions went unanswered for days. Owner requires payment via international wire transfer, which for us was an expensive time consuming hassle. It was not quite as clean as we expected, perhaps because they allow renters to do the cleaning themselves to avoid the cleaning fee, so you may get a house that has not been professionally cleaned. However the local staff who met us at the house were very good.

Fantastic get away in a stunning place!
Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us, we had a wonderful time and completely fell in love with the old stone house. The provided linen and towels were spotless and the WIFI meant I didn’t miss out on Wimbledon (very important if you are a tennis nut like me!). The kitchen was fantastic and had every piece of equipment we could ask for. This is ideal when there is such great produce available at the local market. Our family had a perfect time, from relaxing on the patio with a glass of wine in hand, to playing with the board games we found in the library. We hope to return soon!
