Idéal
Idéalement situé pour découvrir le Périgord Noir. Location très coquette, bien équipée. Plein de souvenirs des villages médiévaux que nous avons visités. Délicate attention à notre arrivée pour le réveillon du nouvel an. Bravo

Gelungener Urlaub
Sehr charmantes altes Haus mitten in Saint-Cyprien, dennoch ruhig gelegen. Ausgestattet mit allem, was man braucht. Jederzeit wieder!

Lovely village home-away-from-home
Our family of four enjoyed our stay in Saint-Cyprien so much! This is a sweet, characterful home just steps away from all the amenities of a lively town in the midst of the beautiful Périgord Noir. The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking, allowing you to enjoy the wonderful produce of the twice-weekly market in town from the comfort of the pretty terrace. A good boulangerie/patisserie is only a block away, making for very easy breakfasts! Sabine is a lovely host and has compiled a very helpful binder of information about the area, which has a veritable wealth of things to do within a 20-minute drive or less. The town is truly a living one, as opposed to a tourist one, and we enjoyed meeting the locals (and their cats!) during our evening walks, as well as participating in this year’s World Cup excitement! It’s true that guests are expected to clean the home before departure or pay an additional fee for cleaning; that said, all is provided to make cleaning an easy experience. We would definitely stay here again!

Excellent location but not as charming as we had hoped.
First of all, the picture on VRBO is taken FROM the gite, not OF the gite! The front of le Terme looks nothing like the front of this lovely building. The main floor had a very well-appointed kitchen and we found it easy to navigate. Also, Sabine was kind to leave us a bottle of wine, some OJ, sparkling water and very good coffee. The bathroom on the first floor was dank and our towels never dried in there. The radiator leaked and several times there were puddles on the floor. The dining room and living room were very dark and not hospitable. The furniture was actually creaky when we sat on it! And, finally, the description of the house should have advised that the stairs were very steep, curved, and hard to navigate. I'm sure we're not the only renters who may be seniors! Both bedrooms are on the second floor but the one bathroom up there, in one of the bedrooms, had no door, only a curtain. This was awkward.... Finally, we were simply amazed that, after paying a hefty amount of money up front to obtain cleaning upon leaving, we still had to drive around town and find where to dispose of the refuse and recyclables! The directions of where to take it were incorrect and we had finally to go to the rental agency to get accurate directions. I'm sorry for these few complaints but after renting more than a dozen excellent properties from VRBO, this one was a disappointment.

Great central location within walking distance of boulangeries, bars and restaurants. Easy access to many lovely tourist locations inc. various canoe/kayak rentals. Would be happy to recommend.

Excellent home in small medieval town
My wife and I spent three weeks in Le Terme during the late spring and summer. The house is centrally located in a small, historic and very scenic town that at the same time is a real working village, rather than simply a tourist destination. A few steps takes one to the main shopping street with bakeries and other stores, including a few small but good restaurants. There is a large supermarket not far away, for larger supply runs. The house itself is on two levels, with kitchen and dining/living area on the ground floor, and two large bedrooms upstairs. Everything necessary for a pleasant, convenient stay is available in the house. There is parking on the street a few steps from the door. St. Cyprien is centrally located for most of the main attractions of the Black Perigord, and lies next to the Dordogne River, so there is plenty to do just at one's doorstep. The town has a renowned market on Sundays that attracts people from all over the area. All in all, Le Terme is a very attractive rental for a couple or small family.

Gorgeous little house; great hosts
The house was a stunning little home-base for our time in the Dordogne. Cute and character-filled, but also big enough and well-stocked to suit all our needs! It was lovely. A definite bonus was the lovely host/coordinator Sabine, who made us feel so at home and was very attentive and communicative - as well as generous. We had a lovely stay and would happily recommend!

Delightful stay in the Dordogne Valley!
My husband and I have traveled to France many times and have stayed in some wonderful self-accomodating flats through VRBO and Home Away, so we had high hopes for our one month booking in St. Cyprien. Let's just say this charming flat exceeded our expectations! If location is important to you as a traveler as you explore the Perigord Noir region then this is a spot on destination! And if you insist on comfort, cleanliness, a well-organized kitchen and large, open interior spaces then look no further. This lovely property is well equipped, lovingly decorated, and well managed. Modern touches in a building full of character (oh we loved those terraces) are much appreciated! The city itself offers a fine variety of boulangerie/patisserie shops, boucheries, and a large grocery store just a few blocks away. And do not miss the Sunday Market held in the middle of St. Cyprien! We explored the many, many attractions found within easy driving distance: Dordogne River views, chateaux, medieval villages, churches and abbeys, vineyards, walnut orchards, duck and goose farms, canoe and kayak rentals, walking/hiking trails, and caves full of prehistoric paintings, sculptures, and engravings. The folks in the Tourist Information Center are very, very helpful! Thank you, Sabine, for your warm welcome (including the selection of local treats you left on the kitchen island) and for attending to our needs during our month-long stay. It was very difficult to close the door on our last day and walk away. We give your flat our highest recommendation!

Wonderful vacation home
This 16th century vacation property is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. The owners are available if they are needed. However, the home is well maintained so we didn't need much from them. The location is perfect: just a block or so from the local Sunday market. We didn't need anything that wasn't provided. We'd dedinitely stay here again if we return to St. Cyprien.

Fond memories
We have stayed here twice...and hope to return again. You can't keep tourists away from this wonderful part of France (Is there any other county that has so much to do, see and enjoy outside of a major city?). But fortunately, nearby towns like Sarlat, Beynac and La Rogue-Gageac take most tourists away from this charming town leaving it's tranquillity and character intact. The owners are most helpful with advice or help with any questions/ problems. The perfect town from which to explore castles, caves, gardens, rivers, history and markets. And the perfect house to do nothing...if you want. Rob and Karen.

ALL THAT WE IMAGINED
My husband and I have recently spent a wonderful week at Le Terme in Saint Cyprien. We were met by Sabine who welcomed us and explained the operation of all we would need to use. The bottle of wine, jam and orange juice which were presented to us as a welcome were also much appreciated. Kitchen is very well equiped, beds are comfortable, wifi was a godsend and there was a plethora of books and tourist information on the Dordogne region. After a day of touring around it was a home away from home. We had some trouble with the satellite TV and not a great selection but then didn't really watch a lot anyway. Would not hesitate to recommend Le Terne to anyone and would certainly come back for another stay. A beautiful part of France and a very friendly village. Just what we were hoping for

Home sweet home

A real find
Wanting a nice spot central to the Dordogne region (Les Plus Belles Villages) and the caves (Lascaux II, etc), I stayed here with my wife, year old son and 60+yr old parents. We all loved it. It's been a month since we have returned and all want to go back to Saint-Cyprien. Saint-Cyprien is a wonderful town that feels very real. Some of the other towns we visited felt a bit touristy or contrived. Fun to visit and spend some time, but we appreciated returning to a home base in a town that was just as beautiful and enjoyable, without being 'on display.' The property owner was wonderfully accommodating for our child and immediately responsive for the one plumbing issue we had. Her house is fantastic and well appointed. Immediately a relaxing place to settle in. Overall, this is a highly recommended location to holiday.
