I'd give this house zero stars if it were possible.
We asked the cats to be removed before we arrived, and the owner agreed to this prior to our stay. When we walked in the door there was cat feces on the kitchen floor. There was a MASSIVE cobweb on the inside of the front door, on both bathroom door frames, in the kitchen between the oven and the wall and in multiple places in the living room. There was a white towel on the loveseat full of cat feces and cat vomit. There was a THICK layer of dust (including a dust bunny) on the TV stand. There was a dirty utensil in the sink, dishes drying in the strainer and the trash can was 3/4 full. The patio door didn't lock so the owner put a piece of wood in the door frame so it couldn't be fully opened from the outside. The oven was SO DISGUSTINGLY dirty that I gagged when I opened it. ALSO, the cats were not removed as promised.
Last, but not least, the black cat attacked my husband and gave him a deep puncture wound with his claws and drew blood. I requested (for a second time) that the owner remove the cats and he did NOT - he just came in and changed the white towel on the loveseat.
We tried to get a hotel but there were no rooms available. Unfortunately, I cannot attach all the photos I took so you could judge for yourself!
When I tried to work with the owner, he called us "fussy" and said "children know that when a cat hisses they are afraid and should be left alone until they decide to come to the person". If he knows his cats are not good with other people, WHY WOULD HE LEAVE THEM IN THE HOME WITH STRANGERS?????
I have learned (the hard way) that if you are NOT happy with where you are staying through VRBO - you need to call VRBO direct and NOT try to work it out with the owner.
