Girls’ Trip made in Heaven
This place had it all… gorgeous view, wildlife, easy access. What made it amazing turned out to be the little things. Extra attention to having household items available and where everything was labeled clearly. The gift basket and note were just perfect. Thank you for making us feel at home and on vacation at the same time

Great cabin!
The owners were communicative through the entire process. The temp was set so that we entered a cool cabin. Everything was provided. The view off the deck was amazing. The bears that came through the yard were adorable. We knew they were wildlife and treated them as such (no feeding!) We definitely recommend this cabin!

Fantastic Stay in Townsend
We had a fantastic stay at this cabin home! The home was just as described and had everything we needed and more. There was a lot of bear activity on the property while we were there, and the location to activities was a short drive away. The mountain view from the deck could be even more beautiful with some tree branch trimming, but we would definitely consider staying here again when visiting Tennessee.

Well worth the cabin
The cabin was more than expected. We saw bears several days during our stay. The owner was very quick to get someone there when the air conditioning was not working properly ans stayed in contact to make sure everything was going well during our stay. We enjoyed all the kitchen supplies that were provided. Definately more than any cabin we have ever stayed at before! We had a very unique experience as we were checking out and giving family goodbyes. We looked up and there was a Mama bear and two cubs walking down the driveway as we were trying to finish packing vehicles. I highly recommend staying at this cabin if you get a chance. We would love to come back and visit again!!

A little slice of Heaven on Earth
We chose this cabin for our spring break trip with extended family. We had 10 total. From the very first inquiry to the finally of the trip, Jim and Lisa and their rental far exceeded out expectations. The description and pictures are accurate. The beds and pillows were beyond comfortable. The cleanliness of the cabin was perfect; even the towels were great quality. They provided a thoughtful and personal gift basket to welcome us. No detail was missed! The entire trip was truly covered in double portions of blessings! The property was amazing with hiking trials, near by fishing, and campfire pit with wood already available. The hot tub was wonderful. The view is amazing. They even had a handrail put on the steps before we came for my disabled husband and elderly grandparents! The first night we got there, a storm came in a knocked the power out. Jim immediately reached out and kept me up to date on the details of the power crew working to resolve the issue. He made sure we were taken care of for the reminder of the trip and was so generous to us. Even though there were things that happened outside of their control, they made sure our stay was more than enjoyable. Thank you, again, Jim and Lisa! We absolutely hope to return for another trip until he future!

Peaceful and beautiful views.
The cabin photos online don't do it justice. It's so beautiful and open. We had plenty of room for 8 adults to spread out. We spent a lot of time on the deck. The peaceful prayer place off the trail is amazing. Jim was amazing to get a hold of for any questions we had. On our 3rd and 4th night a mama bear and her cubs came to visit us. That was spectacular. None of us had experienced that before. We had everything we could need to bake, cook and grill. The laundry room is awesome. We enjoyed hanging out in the basement playing ping pong one evening. We would love to stay here in the future when we visit Townsend. I highly recommended staying here if you have a big family or group of friends. You won't be disappointed.

The perfect end for the year
The most cozy and family friendly cabin I had stayed so far. They went above and beyond and even got some gifts for us and the kids. Very accessible and a wonderful view. Perfect for those looking to do hiking around. The cabin has everything you’ll need. Close to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.

Mountain Memories
We visited at Christmas. We drove up to fences wrapped in garland and candy cane lined driveway! Such a treat after a 5 hour drive. The cabin itself is amazing! We had 3 families for a total of 10 people. Plenty of space for everyone as a group and when quiet time was needed. The cabin was decked out for Christmas! They had a welcome basket and stockings with our names on them! The basement was the teen’s dream! Pool and ping pong tournaments were a huge hit! Finally, the view! It was amazing!! The sunsets!! To sit on that deck and see that view was worth it. Our only negative was the bears. We were too late to see them!

Rest and Relaxation
Property was exactly as described, we were looking for something other than our "usual place" Beautiful home with an incredible view! Its clean, cabinets fully stocked with everything you need including so many spices. The game room/ basement provided plenty of entertainment with a pool table, and ping pong. As described there are bears. We had a young female bear visit most mornings, and later in the evenings. Our 11 year old son was took many pictures of her. I will say this is must stay if you wanna make memories. We will definitely be booking again. Thank you Jim and Lisa!

The property was excellent for our needs as an extended family. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen of any vacation rental we have ever stayed in. The owner was very communicative and was honest about how close the bears would come. All and all, a great vacation.

Mountain Cabin
This was our first visit to Tennessee and it didn’t disappoint! The cabin was large and had everything you could possibly need to have a great vacation. The hot tub, pool table and ping pong table were an added bonus. The view from the deck was so beautiful. Especially to watch the sunset. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook home meals. We very much enjoyed the wild life that would come and visit. The kids were amazed to see a bear outside of the zoo. Jim and Linda were great! They were very quick to respond to any questions we had and surprised us with a basket of goodies when we arrived along with a hand written note welcoming us to the cabin. If you are looking for a place to get away with the family this is definitely a place you should consider. There are so many things to do in the area and you don’t have to drive very far to get there. We will definitely be coming back again.

Plenty of space and beautiful location.
This cabin was great. The location is isolated enough to give you a private mountain experience but close enough to Townsend to be convenient. It’s only 45 minutes from Pigeon Forge as well. Plenty of sleeping spaces so everyone gets some privacy. The cabin was well stocked with kitchen essentials so we didn’t have to buy many extras. The hosts were great! They checked on us before, during, and even after our stay. They are the sweetest folks and wanted to make sure we were having a great time.

Excellent for families!
By far the best stocked kitchen of any VRBO I have stayed in. Very clean. Comfy beds. Beautiful area. The owners were very responsive and did great answering all my questions and checking in to see if we needed anything. They even left us a sweet gift basket. We got to see a small bear on the patio (goal for the trip!). Lots of things to do nearby. My ONLY complaint (which probably cant be helped) was you can't shower with the dishwasher or laundry running because the water pressure isnt fabulous. Super small thing. It was a truly great place! Thanks Jim and Lisa!!!

Secluded, but not boring
We loved our stay here. It is off the main road enough for ample privacy, yet close enough to the neighbors that it doesn’t feel lonely. It is quiet with gorgeous views and a nearby pond. It is far enough away from the tourist hotspots yet close enough to get to them if you want. This was our first time in Tennessee, and I highly recommend this VRBO and area. There was so much to do and explore: hiking, National park, theme parks, mountain roller coasters, museums, etc. The hosts were super responsive to our texts and so lovely with their gift basket and words of love and prayer. Thanks for making our stay so welcoming, and it was an extra bonus to have on-site activities for when we weren’t out exploring surrounding areas: ping pong, pool, hot tub, fire pit, etc. Our kids and grandkids loved it. And we were even able to see fireflies at night. <3

Beautiful & relaxing!
This is was the perfect destination for our friends and us! We have a total of 4 kids ranging from 7-13 & they were occupied the whole time - between playing outside and games in the house. The house was stocked with everything we could possibly need, so there was no stress. Us grown folks enjoyed the view and relaxing on the deck and the hot tub!! A really great time!! Plus, it is a short, easy drive to all of the sites/destinations we wanted to visit.

We loved our stay here. The sunset view of the mountains was lovely. Jim was in contact with us prior to arrival about the storms that had come thru the night before and kept us posted on possibility of the power being out but all was good when we arrived. :) Would recommend this place for sure and would definitely consider staying again if we head back to TN.

We are high school sweet hearts who have found the secret to making it work! Faith, Truth, and Time together, Quality Time! 44 years since our first date, oh yea and most importantly laying our lives down for each other! We have a passion for the beauty of our loving Fathers creation! Hiking, fishing, biking, photography, and classic cars are some of our other joys. Our very busy schedule, 2 adult sons and a daughter plus 3 grand babies keep us hopping! We also Shepherd two rural churches in Middle Tennessee. As the OWNERS of "Campfire Lodge" we know how important it is to have a place of PEACE and REST where the whole family can come and the kids can run.

Why they chose this property

Lisa and I have hiked many of the trails in the Smoky''s, most all the water falls. We do enjoy the shopping and attractions near by in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but this area, Townsend and Wears Valley has a different pace. Lisa has always called these "Her Mountains", even the drive in is so beautiful and NO traffic! We fell in love with this property when we first drove up the road. The unexpected 2 acre pond (across the road) was a photographers bonus. Thanks to Papa! Now, we would like to invite you to come and rest a little too!

What makes this property unique

"Campfire Lodge" is spacious, 3000' plus, but as we looked for a home here we desired three things. First, it had to have a view. Second, when the crew gets together there is at least 3 big trucks and a couple cars. so parking was a must.Thirdly, when my grandson arrived today he asked, "where is the dirt?" his toys needed dirt to move! kids need a place they can just run! All this and 5 acres with some private hiking trails. Did I say wildlife......Reminder....Its AGAINST the Law to FEED the Bears
