Mexican Sunrise House ..... A wonderful Mexican experience (Just see the Reviews

Mexican Sunrise House...Hola! Your hosts are the Gutman's who reside in Ajijic.

Wake up every morning to a Mexican sunrise in a Brand New Home. Why not rent your very own two-story Mexican designed home? The Mexican Sunrise House is located in the most desirable area of Ajijic-Las Salvias area. This exquisite home is in walking distance to everything and set into the hills with a lake and mountain-view. Did you know that Ajijic has some of the best year round climates in the world? No wonder it is called 'the land of eternal spring' and hosts 'the' largest number of U.S. and Canadian ex-pats in the world!

Are you considering retirement? This home will certainly give you the true flavor of our village. Ajijic is an excellent getaway to a mild climate and a chance to experience the authentic Mexican life. Enjoy a brilliant sunrise, church bells, fragrant flowers and be peaceful in the hills of this village. This BRAND NEW home is secured and located in a very safe area where you can walk the village streets- Ajijic is a 500 year old romantic cobblestone village.

Centrally located, the Mexican Sunrise House is a charming two story home with two bedrooms and a full bathroom on the upper level. The downstairs includes a large living room with French doors and large windows, open concept kitchen, breakfast bar, half-bathroom and covered terrassa for outdoor dining. There is secure parking if you choose to bring or rent a car during your stay in Ajijic. Our guests tell us it is a home away from home.

The spectacular terrace off the master bedroom has exceptional views of the lake and mountains. Don't be surprised if it calls you to sip your first cup of coffee in the morning while watching the sun rise over the village. The master bedroom has an American queen-size pillow top bed, custom built in closets and high 'cupola' ceiling. All linens and towels are quality fabrics, understanding the needs of spoiling our guests. All the rustic furniture is hand painted by a local artist. The master bathroom includes: Mexican tiled sink, shower with a built in tiled sitting bench, and stained glass windows.

The second bedroom has a high-riser(day bed) that sleeps two, feather beds for that European comfort, as well as an elegant hand painted rustic desk to set up your laptop computer. High speed internet access is already set up for you. A large window with views of the mountain creates a quiet charm and rustic beauty.

As you descend the staircase an artistic stained glass window allows light into the home and adds more Mexican charm. The downstairs area has lots of windows and French doors to create a bright and airy feeling. Mexican arches and nooks are set off by dramatic lighting and 'boveda' Mexican styled ceilings. Relax and watch your favorite TV programs or listen to your favorite music on the satellite TV with hundreds of stations: sports, CNN, BBC, movies, music, etc. (we have Canadian and U.S. programs)

The Mexican crafted kitchen has all the modern appliances and designed for easy living. You can prepare meals while still being part of the living area. The kitchen includes a large pantry, gas oven and stove top, microwave oven and triple filtered water.

Protected from the sun you can enjoy the downstairs terrace and enjoy dining out in the evening. A Mexican tiled fountain provides you with a quiet Zen moment and you will understand why you are in paradise as the tropical ceiling fans provide cool breezes.

For your convenience: US washer and dryer, storage room for golf clubs and sports equipment, secured off street parking.

We also like to remind you that we have another home, The Mexican Jewel House-VRBO #104029 that is close by for families and friends that want to enjoy their visits together, but maintain their privacy and comfort. Just ask for both homes if you are considering multi-family/friend visits to our village.

Maid and gardener services are included as are gas, electric and local phone calls. There are absolutely no hidden charges!

We've taken the pleasure to supply you with a list of our favorite restaurants, shops, village outdoor market days and full day outings to artistic and historical cities. We enjoy stocking the fridge with a few goodies to get you going the first day you arrive and you can certainly pop down the street for some fill-ins. This home is so well located that many visitors never use their cars. Just three streets away you will find a variety of small fruit and vegetable markets, 2 fish markets and a small grocery store. You can stock up on our local produce and enjoy the fresh foods.

Only 3 minutes from The Mexican Sunrise House, we have our very own baker (Pan). Walk down the cobblestones to the original rustic bakery and buy warm fresh rolls every morning, croissants, sweet rolls (pan dulce) and have an authentic experience with our local baker who speaks English! Once inside this amazing bakery-you can special order: bagels, baguettes, whole wheat croissants and cactus bread.

If you are here for affordable plastic surgery, dental work or medical treatments-this home is a perfect place to be peaceful. A complete dental cleaning is just $40, hour-long massages are $28 and you can choose from more 'spoiling' during your stay.

Remember – location, location, location! Just a short stroll away and you are at the main plaza with over 40 international restaurants, local artist galleries, shops and the true Mexico, at your feet. Walk the cobblestone streets, get caught in the local sights and sounds of the village, and enjoy what over 7,000 North Americans call home.

Well located, bright and airy, stocked with all amenities one could possible need. My husband and I enjoyed ten days in Leo's house, and he was an excellent host. We wanted for nothing, and our comfort was foremost in Leo's mind. Thank you for a wonderful stay; we hope to return soon.

Great location, wonderful host

Leo's Sunrise House was comfortable and very well stocked with what we needed for our monthlong stay. The location is close to the center of Ajijic and lots of excellent restaurants, all within short walking distance. My husband and I have stayed in many, many VRBO places, as well as places at that other online vacation rental site :-) yet I can say unequivocally that Leo is the best host we've ever had. He makes sure his guests are well taken care of. And he's such a pleasant person to talk with. Leo and the Sunrise House made our stay in Ajijic a special one!

Great Location and beautiful Property

This property is spotless, private, has lots of natural light and is within walking distance to the village. Every morning we sat on the patio and enjoyed our coffee and the large terrace off the main bedroom is a sunny place to hang out as well. We had no idea the experience would be this great. We stayed for a week.

Absolutely perfect in every way!

We just returned yesterday from our month long stay at the Mexican Sunrise House in Ajijic. Everything about this wonderful house made me want to stay another month. The location is great and we were able to walk everywhere to shop, eat and enjoy the beauty of the Lake, the Malacon and all of the people that congregate on the streets. The house itself is lovely with cupola ceilings, mexican tile and everything you need to cook(although the nearby restaurants are so great that we hardly cooked at all). Every comfort is in this house. The beds are comfy and the terrace upstairs gives you a gorgeous view of the lake. The host, Leo Gutman, was wonderful from the day we booked the house to the day we left. He surely loves what he does and it showed. He gave us great recommendations for restaurants, what to do and interesting facts about Ajijic, a place we are considering for retirement. The property is about two blocks from the center of town but once you open the gate of the house you are in a world of youor own surrounded by great plants, flowers, and even a fountain on the downstairs terrace. It is peaceful and relaxing, yet you are minutes away from everything in town. Leo also has an adjoining property, The Mexican Jewel House which is just as wonderful with all of the same amenities but on one floor instead of two. He was happy to show it to us and we are thinking about renting it as well. The two houses would be perfect for two couples or families with adult kids who want a great place for a vacation. Thank you Leo & Gaby for talking such good care of us and for always being available to answer questions and give advice. We will definitely be back and hope both houses remain forever!!

A True Mexican Oasis

The Mexican Sunrise house is exactly as pictured and as described in previous posts. Leo could not have been a better or more responsive host and Esther, the housekeeper, was excellent. We enjoyed waking up to the sunrise, which was framed by palm trees and masses of bougainvillea, and sitting on both the lower patio and the upper deck. And off-street parking was such a bonus! Thank you, Leo and Gaby, for making us feel at home!!

February Paradise

I picked this place for 3 factors. Firstly, the view. Every night we enjoyed sitting on the veranda to see the evening sky. In addition, the view from the masterbedroom was wonderful. When I woke up in the morning, I just had to open my eyes to see a partial sunrise. Secondly, the location. We wanted to be within walking distance of the town square, and we were. We were also near the Carraterra, which had every type of living supply necessary. And thirdly, I wanted a nice place, which was clean and comfortable, and attractively decorated. I would recommend this getaway to anyone interested in such a place. The owner went out of his way to be helpful, and was very friendly.

Chill

My wife and I were on the hunt to find a place that we agree to spend extended stays in years to come. We have found it. Ajijic has a low key and very welcoming atmosphere. The accommodations we found in the Sunrise House was excellent with Leo the host being super to interact with. There is nothing perfect so the only thing to say is that the cobble stone streets are quaint but somewhat difficult to walk on so bring good footwear, and that our stay was too short. See you next time Leo (for a MONTH)

Mexican Sunrise House in Ajijic

My friend and I stayed at this enchanting casa for 7 days. Leo greeted us when we arrived, and he checked in with us to see how our Ajijic adventure was going. Along with being a fountain of knowledge, Leo was ever ready to assist us in any way we needed. If you're looking for close proximity to all that's happening in beautiful Ajijic, this is a beautiful place to stay. We loved it, and we'd stay there again and again! Laurie

This property is beautiful. Just as in the pictures. View from the upstairs terrace is stunning

We had a wonderful 2 week visit at the Mexican Sunrise House. The house is terrific; very comfortable and clean. It is beautifully decorated and well kept. Leo is a perfect host. He provides a wonderful book full of all the information needed about the house and the area. Leo is a great resource for restaurants, things to do in the area, etc. All of his recommendations were spot on. He goes above and beyond to provide an enjoyable experience at his property. We fell in love with the Sunrise House and Ajijic. Location is a short walk to all of the restaurants and activities in town. Highly recommend!!!!

Awesome Spot

We loved our stay at the Casa de Sunshine! We felt spoiled there honestly. Everything was just right: from the beautiful lake view, singing birds, stocked kitchen, and gorgeous flowered patio to the purified tap water (so you don’t have to use bottled water to brush your teeth- huge bonus!) and Leo the gracious host there to answer your every question— perfect. They have really thought of everything to make your stay easy and accommodating. Great neighborhood, too. Easy walking distance to so many great restaurants, a fantastic pollo place, and the main plaza. You really can’t go wrong here so no need to put a lot of thought into it. Just pull the trigger and enjoy!

A perfect casita for relaxing and enjoying Ajijic!

The property was all that was adertised as. From the courtyard garden to the patios. The house was immaculate, the furniture was quality. Leo greeted us at the gate and welcomed us in to the house, gave us a tour. He was the perfect host, provided us with imformation that helped us , a book full of resources supplemented what he told us. I was so surprised , he left us ingredients more than enough for our breakfast thru our stay! What a host! We were then invited to have cocktails at his house with his other guests on the compound where he regaled us with stories and made us feel at home. We highly recommend sunrise home and will reserve when we come back as we intend to visit Ajijic again many times.

Beautiful House - We loved it!

The Sunrise House has been a beautiful experience! Perfect location, walking distance to town, and a perfect oasis to return to after a day of exploring! This house has great energy, clean and comfortable. You walk in and you immediately feel right at home! The house has a Mexican feeling, yet with every amenity you could possible want, to make your stay perfect! The owners, Leo & Gaby are very helpful and a joy to work with. They provide you with all kind of information about the house and Ajijic; and being they live next door, are immediately available to answer your questions, and give you suggestions of places to visit and eat. The pictures cannot truly depict how beautifully constructed the house is. Ajijic is a magical place, and the Sunrise house is a remarkable place to stay. The worst thing about this trip is that we had to leave. We will probably return again next year, and without hesitation, I would recommend this property to anyone.

Unmatched Hospitality at a Beautiful Home

I was here last year, and had to return. What a cozy home, with both mountain and lake views.. For me though the hospitality of Leo & Gaby really pushed this rental over the top. The house is exactly as advertised. It’s gorgeous with classy and tasteful yet comfortable furnishings and all amenities. The bedrooms are bright; the beds are firm and comfortable. The whole place is spotless. The hosts live next door, and were readily available (but not intrusive) to answer any question, and fix any problem right away. What warm hosts! They made me feel so welcome and they were prepared to take care of any of my needs. A typical day started with coffee and sitting in the upstairs terrace, watching the town wake up. Leo & Gaby provide one with tons of info about the house and the town. I highly recommend you take the time and explore their recommendations and they can help organize your experiences for you. The kitchen was fully stocked and as I do love cooking I did not feel like I was missing anything. Having said that, there are lots and lots of great restaurants, walking distance from the house. In short: The house was great! The hosts were amazing!

Clean, comfortable, colorful & cordial host!

Waking up in the upstairs master bedroom of the aptly-named Sunrise House is a delight, beginning with layers upon layers of bird song preceding the sun peeking over the mountains. I'm not an early riser at home but I loved hearing the village waking up while watching the lake and the mountains gradually emerge into view. The bedroom also has a lovely palm-tree shaded patio and a high-domed ceiling with attractive recessed lighting and a strong fan to keep us cool. Even though it was late May we were never uncomfortable or too hot inside the house. Our overnight flight from Sacramento got us into Ajijic at 5:45 am. Our host, Leo, had emailed directions to the house; in English for us and in Spanish for the cab driver. Leo had also emailed us careful instructions for retrieving the keys from a combination lock box outside the gate. When we let ourselves in we found that he had also kindly stocked the refrigerator with eggs, milk, bread, butter, jam and coffee so we could rest up from our flight and have a light breakfast before we ventured out into the village to get our bearings and buy our own supplies. A bottle of wine and two glasses also awaited us on the kitchen counter. I've never seen a kitchen in a rental property so well-stocked with every utensil and appliance you could need, including a full gas stove. The rest of the house was equally lovely and well-stocked for all our needs. Any time we had questions we knew we could just pick up the phone, but I found that if I emailed Leo, a response was always forthcoming within mere minutes. He was always on hand to help us find our way around the property or the village. The property was well-secured, clean and safe-feeling, with beautiful gardens and artistic local indoor furnishings and gorgeous stained glass. The WiFi was excellent, and the property even included a phone with direct dial to the U.S. Leo provided us with a comprehensive list of restaurants, and the mediterranean-themed Pale was just excellent and a short walk away. If you enjoy outdoor restaurants try Yves down the highway, with its outdoor fountain and browsing white burros, or the Peacock Garden in the heart of the village. I'll be raving about The sunrise House to my friends, as it was a terrific value for the price and a beautiful property. We're looking forward to coming back and hope this property is available.
