Great stay, Where Pigs Fly in Burton

We loved our short stay, at the beautifully restored grocery store, Where Pigs Fly, in Burton, Tricia, the owner was wonderful to work with, and quick to answer any questions. The space was beautiful and comfortable. The furnishings were lovely, and the beds were very comfortable. Wonderful details throughout. We can’t wait to come back for a longer stay soon!

Fantastic Getaway

Our family had plans to meet some friends in Brenham and we decided to make a last-minute weekend out of it. We really enjoyed our stay in this charming former grocery. The home was clean, well furnished, and well equipped. The town of Burton is small, and we could easily walk to the nearby coffee shop and two restaurants. We took a tour at the Cotton Gin Museum and visited nearby Round Top as well. All in all a lovely getaway in a sleepy Texas town. Thank you for the memorable and comfortable stay!

About the host

This has been a true labor of love bringing this old store back to life and commerce! I am a professional interior designer that has a passion for furniture and small homes so what better way to combine my interests than open a Bed and Breakfast with an attached Home Furnishings store! I've enjoyed exploring downtown Burton, other surrounding small towns as well as enjoying some quiet time.

Why they chose this property

This charming old grocery store was speaking to me to be polished up again. Henry's grocery store dates back to the 1920's when it was a gathering spot in downtown Burton. You can walk to other shops, restaurants and bars that feature live music or explore antique shopping in other towns nearby.

What makes this property unique

Only 10 minutes to Brenham and Round Top, you can escape the hectic traffic and congestion of Antique Week with this conveniently located property. Free Wifi and cell phones work perfectly here. I've furnished the baths, bedrooms and kitchen to make you feel at home.
