Explore our 25 acre historic grounds & lodge situated along the "Cold Creek" teaming with rainbow trout. Come get unplugged at our "tucked away treasure".
Located in Ohio s North Coast! Cedar Point, Lake Erie Islands, Ferry Boats, and Lake Erie fishing are all minutes away! Includes vintage bikes to peddle around the property at your leisure.

The Space: This entire complex rental is ideal for Family Reunions, Class Reunions, Sports Teams and their families (coming into Sandusky for tournament play at Sports Force), Weddings/Receptions in our 300 person outdoor patio . Let us make your big events stress free, by utilizing our own family catering business, Colonnade Banquet Facility.

Guest Access: With the exclusive booking of this property... it s all yours to enjoy! Millsite offers: indoor and outdoor fireplace, patio, lodge, game room, poker table, dining room for up to 75 persons (catered group meals available on site with prescheduling, yard games, fly fishing (for a fee), The Homestead has an updated kitchen to prepare your own meals.
NOTE: The Lodges common areas close at 11pm (weeknights) and midnight (weekends) . No sleeping permitted in the Lodge.

Interaction with Guests: Millsite Lodge began in 1880 s as a family home and barn with Cold Creek running at the back of the property. Around the 1940 s the property was converted to a country side retreat for the rich and famous of yesteryear... come and learn the rest of the story.

The Neighborhood: Millsite Lodge is a tranquil setting just 2 miles from Lake Erie, 1 mile Fireland s Winery, 2 miles Margaritaville with weekend live music (seasonal), 4 miles from Downtown Sandusky, and nearby Cedar Point, Ferry Boats, and the Lake Erie islands.

Tour Possibilities: Winery tours, Historical sight tours, and light house tours.

You are welcome to trailer your boat in, and launch nearby into Lake Erie.
Besides trout fishing (on site - year round... that s right, Cold Creek NEVER freezes), the open waters of Lake Erie are just minutes away. After spending the day on the water, retire to the serene countryside of Millsite Lodge and meet up with the rest of your group to enjoy the evening together.

Great Family Reunion

Our family of ~30 adults and children had a wonderful family reunion at the Millsite. The bedrooms were good and the common areas were roomy enough for us not to feel cramped even on rainy days when we couldn't go outside. The property was beautiful and had many entertainment options for those days that were sunny.

My mom and dad purchased Millsite with family in mind. They have six girls (of which I am the oldest), husbands, 20 grandchildren and 7 great grand children with more on the way. :)

While you are here, you will absolutely come across family members. You could see my mama planting flowers, sisters painting rooms, nieces and nephews raking leaves, or my dad on his tractor. We are a family dedicated to one another and committed to making your stay memorable.

Why they chose this property

Our family fell in love with Millsite. The great big sycamore trees (General McArthur planted one of them), the rippling creek, the 1/4 mile long evergreen lined driveway, the eagles, the fire pit: all draw family and friends together to spend much needed time away to enjoy the beauty of nature and the simple joy of togetherness.

What makes this property unique

Millsite has a rich history. It began as a family farm in the 1880's. The Homestead is the original farmhouse. The Stables were... you guessed it... the horse stables. The Lodge was the barn yard.
Around 1940's The Levitt's family purchased the farm and turned it into a hunting/fishing lodge for Owen's Illinois (Toledo glass company), where they hosted General McArthur, Jackie Gleason, Joan Crawford and scores of executives from companies that would be in need of glass products.

Cold Creek was actually hand dug back in the early 1800's to turn the Mill just down stream of our
property (hence the name: Millsite). One partial wall still remains. The Mill was very profitable due to the fact that Cold Creek never freezes. So, while other mills had to close for the winter season, our Mill could operate year round.
