About this property

Relaxing place to gather with friends and family in Uptown Port Townsend, ~WA~

Our daughter has always called this 'The Ferry Boat House' because you can watch the ferry boats as they move in and out of the port. This house is a wonderful blend of 1880’s Victorian charm and relaxing beach house comfort.

Fully furnished three-bedroom, one and a half bath home with an incredible view of the Bay and mountains. This house is very conveniently located one block from the fountain staircase and is less than two miles from Fort Worden. The main floor bedroom has a queen-size bed and one the second floor bedrooms has a queen while the third room has a full bed.

The living space is equipped with a 55”TV, VCR and DVD player plus plenty of room to stretch out and read a good book. There is a formal dining room with a large table plus the kitchen has a table and additional seating. There is a large eating bar with visibility to the smart tv hanging in the kitchen. Off the kitchen is a large deck perfect for relaxing and enjoying the view.

This is a quiet neighborhood where you can park your car for the duration of your stay and walk almost anywhere you want to visit.

Pets must be approved prior to stay.

Ferryboat house
The house had a beautifully remodeled kitchen and was in a perfect location for our stay, just a block from the farmer's market and local grocery store, a short walk to downtown and the beach.

Wonderful!
My stay at the Ferryboat House made my visit to Port Townsend a dream come true. The location is fantastic between Uptown and Downtown, the kitchen is well supplied, and all the rooms are super comfortable. Teri is superb host, responding to any question in a timely fashion. I especially enjoyed morning coffee with the view of the sound on the back deck. I’m looking ahead to my next visit already!

Wonderful month in Port Townsend!
My husband and I were thrilled to be able to spend a month in Port Townsend at the Ferry Boat House! Ferry Boat House has an excellent uptown location close to the steps to downtown, farmer's market on Saturdays, as well as fun parks and shopping. Aside from trips to the Olympic National Park and other state parks nearby, we didn't really have much need of a car. Teri and Bill have updated the house for comfort and functionality, including a well-stocked kitchen with nearly every gadget you could possibly need. The living areas are quite open and bright, with lots of room to spread out, and the bedrooms/bathrooms were a good configuration for guests. The house itself is well insulated for sound and the occasional "heatwave," and has excellent wifi for those working remotely during their stay. Don't be surprised if you see some of the resident deer in the yard! We would happily return to Ferry Boat House on future trips and highly recommend for couples and families. Thanks, Teri and Bill!! :)

Lovely home in a wonderful location!
From start to finish, we had a terrific stay in Port Townsend and this lovely home was a great place to base ourselves for easy access to town services and coastal recreation. The hosts made us feel very welcome. The house was super clean and very comfortable. There is a wonderful kitchen with plenty of space for cooking and communing when you’re not distracted by the views of the Ferryboat traffic from the breakfast table or outdoor deck. Restaurants and shopping are an easy walk. Don’t miss the Farmers Market on Saturdays, just a three minute walk away.

Our favorite holiday home!
Our college-aged family of 4 fit perfectly in this sweet and updated Victorian home in the middle of uptown Port Townsend. Lots of storage and amenities for long stays. Teri and Bill were extremely helpful when needed and made sure we had everything we needed for our 3 month stay over the holidays (even holiday decorations!) We were greeted with coffee, wine and a turkey roasting pan. We fell in love with the view, kitchen and the family sharing spaces. Note: The stairs are steep and short, as most hundred year old homes, but if you are careful, it works out fine to get to the 2 extra bedrooms and 1/2 bath upstairs. Two were able to work/Zoom at the same time with the internet system. And during Covid, it was wonderful to be in such a CLEAN home! Thank you Teri and Bill!!! We all will miss our little holiday home and hope to visit one day again!

A Victorian Gem
My husband and I enjoyed a month in this comfortable and amenity-filled house which also is in an ideal location to experience all that Port Townsend has to offer. The house is very comfortable and offers prime views of the sound from several windows. I greatly enjoyed sitting on the deck reading or just watching the sailboats and the ferry sail by. The house contains everything you could want, from a kitchen with every appliance and utensil you could need to loads of towels and comfortable beds. The stairs to the upper floor are a little steep (if you’re unsteady on your feet) but we had no problem with it. We slept in the downstairs bedroom which was just perfect. The house is located three blocks above the waterfront and the downtown area with restaurants and shops and access to bicycling paths and sailboat tours. Teri was quick to respond to a couple questions. We definitely recommend this house and will book it again if we return to the area.

The house is a vintage home blocks away from from town and the farmer's market. We so much stay.
Teri was so helpful and we did all the activities around Port Townsend, farmer's markets, art fairs and Christmas events. The house is very comfortable and cozy, I especially enjoyed the views of the bay from the deck. Hope to stay there again.

A treasured place to stay
This is my 4th stay at Ferryboat House. The house is the same, easy to live in, a happy place. Owners are thoughtful and it is well equipped if a bit like every vacation place, full of random kitchen wares and a cacophony of linens. Furnace and equipment in good working order. The garden a bit overgrown but beautiful w/dandilions trimmed by friendly local deer. In a great location walking distance to Uptown shops and weekly Farmers Market as well as Downtown tourist shops, good eateries and a fabulous old time movie theater, the Rose.

Great house ! Great location !
This is an ideal location in Uptown Port Townsend. The house is comfortable, clean and well equipped for an extended stay. The rooms are large and light; the neighborhood is quiet, yet close to everything. The eat in kitchen and upstairs bedroom have water views of Port Townsend's downtown waterfront. You are within short walking distance of both downtown and a local market. The owners are nice and responsive to your needs. I really enjoyed the stay here; you will love Port Townsend.

Wonderful house in a great location!
This house is so great! The bright kitchen nook is a great place to sit in the morning and watch the water. The beautiful large deck is a great happy hour/dinner location, again with great water views. The house has everything you could need for either cooking in or there are great close by options for eating out. The central location to both downtown and uptown provided lots of opportunities to walk to dining, theater, art galleries, shops, etc. We are looking forward to returning. This was a really relaxing place to stay and we enjoyed our visit tremendously.

Immediately felt at home!
We loved being able to soak in everything that Port Townsend has to offer while staying in this charming victorian home. We have enjoyed this gem several times over the years & recommend it anyone who truly wants to fully experience this area. The home welcomes its guests with warm victorian character; a bright sunny kitchen/dinette to enjoy your morning tea/coffee, clean well furnished bedrooms (3), bathrooms (2), kitchen, dining room and laundry room. At the end of a day out-and-about, the large deck off the kitchen is a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine while looking across the bay. We were able to easily walk to the bakery, farmers market, uptown shops/restaurants, downtown shops/restaurants, concerts on the dock, movies in the best theater ever (Starlight), Maritime Center, marina (beautiful wooden boats), live theater, live music and wonderful people. The owner provided area information and resources for us to make our stay the best it could possibly be! If you are looking for a welcoming, comfortable place to stay while enjoying all that Port Townsend has to offer, this is the place! Expect to take home wonderful memories and the desire to come back as often as you can.

Always a great stay! Cozy, Perfect Location
Been here several times in recent years and every time i'm reminded why i've been back. The house is spacious, yet cozy. The corner kitchen window(s) provides the perfect morning light and allow you to enjoy your coffee with with a partial view of the Sound. Meanwhile, the location couldn't better (couldn't be better!) as it sits smack dab between downtown and uptown - plenty of shopping, exploring, waterfront access, restaurants, etc. all in a few minutes walking distance. The local grocer is only a block or so away too making it a super convenient trip when needed. As a bonus, the local neighborhood deer often make an appearance in and around the yard, providing a small taste of tranquil wildlife - making for a great photo opp or simply a few minutes of enjoyment. Can't wait to get back! Only an hour from the Seattle/Bainbridge ferry, and the perfect small town experience for a temporary getaway or long term stay.

LOVE IT HERE!
We LOVE it here! The house has a cozy charm! I love the corner windows in the kitchen...perfect place to sit and have your 1st cup of coffee before walking out the door to get another.... I have spent many weekends at this house - with my kids and as a Girl Friend getaway... never got in the car because we walked to everything... coffee, breakfast, shopping, running, the park, the grocery store, the movies, cocktails.... hope to go back soon.

We fell in love with Port Townsend after we spontaneously took a ferry over from Whidbey Island and have been hooked ever since. We found the house while antiquing and made arrangements to buy it shortly before our family expanded. Our children have grown up wandering through town and on the nearby beaches and we hope to retire there in the next few years.

Why they chose this property

The view of the water!!!!! We sit in the kitchen, dining room or living room and can watch the water. The upstairs bedroom and bath also have great views.Port Townsend is an incredible town with great people and wonderful amenities.

What makes this property unique

We love this house and location because there is the small town feeling with amazing amenities. We have a bakery, spa and community center all within one block of the house. Two blocks away there is a wonderful grocery store with a deli inside. There are also numerous restaurants within blocks of the house yet it's still in a small neighborhood where everyone watches out for each other.
