Waterfront VT Camp - enjoy coffee on porch/deck or cocktail by the lakeside fire
Summer is coming and Camp will be open! Located in Lunenburg VT on Neal Pond, this best kept secret is the perfect place to unwind. Spend time in/on the water, on the screened porch or accessing nearby ATV/UTV/horse trails. We have cornhole boards with lights for nighttime play, a badminton set, and Kan Jam to enjoy with friends and family. A short drive to Lunenburg town center for sundries or a 15min drive to Lancaster for grocery, theatre and shopping or a 30min drive to Littleton for big box stores, more dining options and the world's longest candy counter at Chutters. There are no-WIFI or TV screens at Camp - a great opportunity to disconnect in the great outdoors!
Camp was built in 1936 by a local mill worker with rough sawn lumber, a tin roof and has been updated with some modern comforts but remains more "camp" than "lake house." An addition to include a separate bedroom and bath brought the indoor plumbing and shower (tight headroom if height over 6 feet) which pulls from water from the lake. All plumbing inside the camp draws from the pond so is not suitable for drinking. Fresh water is available from a local spring or nearby grocery stores detailed in the Welcome Guide. We hope you'll consider spending a week or weekend at Ledge Lawn!

We always hope for a clean, comfortable and well equipped place to stay and relax and we were not disappointed. In addition to that, the location was perfect with the absence of traffic noises and too many people! We enjoyed the quiet and the ease of launching the kayaks on the pond. This is the kind of place we will remember.
We were looking to relax and we got exactly what we expected. You have to understand that the place is not new but everything important is there and it is clean. Beds are comfy. Plenty of stuff to go play on the lake (that we didn't use because it was pooring rain all the time we were there). We played cribbage on the porch most of the time. Great getaway place for any age range at a price we can afford.
This place is a great escape from every day life clean comfortable. We enjoyed the pond for fishing and just the peace and quiet great screened in pouch to enjoy the view with a cocktail. We will be back.
My niece and nephew had so much fun with all the fun things we got to do at the camp last weekend. We have all decided this is going to become a yearly thing with us!
We enjoyed the cabin and lake tremendously. The parks, hiking, and pond kept us busy and active.
The rain gave us lots of time to relax.
A delightful week :)
Thankyou!!!

We had a lovely time at Lawn Ledge
We enjoyed kayaking on the pond, and it was nice to just relax and unplug from the world yet be so close to conveniences if you wanted them. The screened in porch and deck are amazing. This is where we spent most of our time. The cabin had everything we needed and is mostly how it's pictured. The queen-sized bedroom is off of the bathroom, and each door is only about two feet wide. This was not an issue for my husband and I as it was just the two of us. Ed was quick to respond to our requests and check-in was seamless.
We would definitely consider staying again.
Great property located right at the edge of a crystal clear pond. We enjoyed fishing off the dock, grilling on the deck and cooking s’mores by the campfire. This camp strikes the perfect balance between rustic and modern amenities. We will definitely return.
Ed was a wonderful host. The cabin is cozy and rustic. The first night we were there, it was raining but the sound of the rain hitting the metal roof was relaxing. Everything that was shown in the pictures were exactly as they were.
Loved the camp. Was a little difficult to find, there was no sign with the number of the camp. The family had a great time. Neighbors were very friendly as well. Cute little surprise in the fridge from the owners. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
We are a little family of four and we had a wonderfull time. The Ledge Lawn is as charming as in the pictures and the girls( 6 and 9 ) really enjoyed their up ladder room.
We liked the tranquility of the cottage and enjoyed our kayaking on the lake.
It was a perfect vacation cottage and we all want to go back in the near futur.
What a great week we had here! We spent lots of time outside enjoying the deck, the fire pit, and screened in porch. The weather was perfect (chilly nights and warm days). I was able to get out and kayak 3 of the days and walk to the local variety store one day. We saw the herons and heard the loons. We took a ride to Littleton Freehouse Taproom & Eatery and I had a duck Rueben that was really yummy! Sandwiches one night from the local variety, although on the small side, were really good! We wanted to try the Copper Pig but hubby wasn't feeling well on our last day there so we didn't get there. Oh, and the furniture inside and out was really comfy (important for 2 of us in our 60’s with some physical issues). All in all, a very nice week and a lovely spot to stay.
We spent a great weekend! We enjoyed multiple activities like kayaking at the lake, smores at the fireplace, the BBQ, games night, or just hanging out at the porch.
The cabin is cozy, clean and well equipped, with direct access to the pond.
The pond is large enough to keep exploring, with multiple birds to enjoy.
Definitely recommended.
And we found our Golden Pond with this waterfront cabin. No tv or Wi-Fi, instead we watched the morning mist rise off the pond as the loons floated by & then we saw an eagle & osprey fly over head. It was just as described and more. Well stocked, fully applianced kitchen and bath, very nice linens, towels and comfy beds. This little cabin is absolutely rustic but lovely. The pictures are accurate and Ed the owner gives lots of tips, hints and details. We could tell a lot of thought went into the décor & furniture. During our 3 day stay hubby & I kicked back, read books, swam & paddled around in cabin kayaks. We brought easy breakfast food, steaks for the gas grill, some salads & beverages for happy hour. This review is all true & I want to go back… regularly!
My life long friend who lives in Florida and I who live in Arizona decided to meet up in New York and take a road trip to vermont. We couldn’t have found the more perfect place to stay. The weather wasn’t summering as it was supposed to but we found so much peace and beauty here even with all of the rain. Everything needed was provided and more! Fire wood, daily essentials, cozy beds, kayaks and a canoe, an immaculate vibe (even all sorts of alcohol?!) Everyone in town was beyond friendly! Our cabin neighbor built our fire for us and offered to let us take out her boat. Everyone in town felt like sunshine. We spent our time soaking up nature, relaxing and driving around to different little towns to experience all we could. Lancaster is close and such a cute little town. Burlington, Stowe and Woodstock a few hours out and such great towns filled with the best people. Whether you plan to get the most out of the property and have a camp like experience or explore around this cabin is the perfect home base.
It was a bit buggy (as you can expect in a cabin) I would recommend some essential oils or naturally repelling herbs/plants but we didn’t mind too much!
My best friend and I fell in love here and plan to come back in the fall! (Hopefully one day buy a cabin of our own here to vacation to.) Overall such a special trip!! Big thank you to our host!!
Rustic, quaint cabin on a lake that didn't quite meet expectations
We were a family of 4 with kids ages 6 and 9 that wanted to stay in an affordable cabin on a lake in VT and found this place and decided to give it a shot. Below are pros and cons from our experience:
Pros:
- Neal Pond is beautiful and provides some great boating and fishing
- The host was very responsive both before and during our stay
- The cabin was clean and organized when we arrived and we had all the supplies we needed
- The hot water worked great which was much appreciated in a rustic cabin
- The cabin comes with a rowboat, kayaks, and canoe with all the paddles and life jackets you need which we took full advantage of
- There is a full fridge and stove
Cons:
- The cabin was old, really old, and felt like it was close to falling apart.
- The ceiling had nails in many places that were sticking down and not bent up. If you are taller than 6 feet, there is a chance of hitting your head on a sharp nail. There were also nails like this in the loft which was dangerous since the area is designed for children. Our children were old enough to pay attention and not hurt themselves, but I could see younger children jumping around up there and getting hurt.
- There were 4 other cabins that were very closely located to this one so if they are occupied, there is very little privacy. If getting away from it all is important to you, then I can't recommend this cabin.
- One of the neighbors was very rude to our kids
Overall, despite the cons, we had a good time fishing & boating
