TOTALLY RENOVATED AND REDECORATED!! A Sunny second story cottage apartment on a working farm. Come enjoy our guest cottage loft! The kitchen with beautiful stone counters and full amenities has an old pine table that is a great spot to enjoy breakfast as you look out over the pastures.

We are close to all the local horsing events like polo, 30 minutes from the highway, but it feels a world away. The bathroom entrance is in the master bedroom.

Enjoy an evening by the fire pit with your family and friends!

Please note, this is the country and there are critters of all shapes and sizes out here! There are livestock guardian dogs that are prone to night time barking. This is a second story unit. Some noise will travel between units. For your safety and the safety of livestock you must stay out of all pastures and never go onto a neighboring property. This is not the Ritz, it's the country that means noises, smells and bugs.

Perfect little getaway

This place was so cute and cozy. Cows in the field as you look out the windows and not a person in site. Loved the location!!

Plenty of space for a family of 6.

Stayed here instead of a hotel for a soccer tournament in the area. We are a large family of 6. We saw that the price to stay here was the same for what we’d get at a hotel further away from the fields. We had plenty of space and everything in the rental was comfortable for our family, even the 2 year old. He is house trained.

Cute upstairs farm apartment

Great experience! Property manager was very responsive and kind! The apartment was BETTER than the listing. All appliances and cookware. Extra towels and hygiene items in case anything was forgotten. Very cute home away from home.

Fyi 2nd floor duplex unit

Overall our stay was good. We have stayed in much nicer places but it did the job. The unit has been redecorated new paint, carpet, some furniture changes since the posting was created. What the ad does NOT say is this is a 2nd floor duplex unit. And because of this we will not be staying here again. We traveled with two toddlers and while the house provided extras there were a few things that made our stay difficult. #1 Being a 2nd floor unit it was difficult carrying stuff up and down while making sure our kids didn't fall. Not a huge deal for some maybe but I don't feel that was listed in ad and possibly we would have picked another listing. #2 What was not shown in the pics, assuming it is new addition. There was a large metal coffee table with glass topper in the main room.. Our kids thought was an awesome whacking game. Driving cars across, banging it with their cups, and generally stumbling close to the edges making us nervous. Again this might be okay for most but I wouldn't recommend for young kids. #3 The two units are not sound proof. We heard muffled voices and could hear the tv shows from below. Not a huge deal for us but I can only imagine what the downstairs unit heard with our kids crying, 4 of us walking around, banging, etc. The house was fairly clean. It had some dead bugs in the window ceils but the basics were definitely cleaned well. The property is located in the middle of the farm with animals all around. Our kids enjoyed seeing them and a huge highlight for this property. had a highchair, booster seat, pack and play provided I would not recommend this unit for young children.

Thanksgiving Holiday Stay

My wife and I spent 5 nights with our daughter and her boyfriend at the farm over Thanksgiving. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The beds are comfortable. The shared bathroom is accessed through the master bedroom. The roosters were a little loud in the morning, but the hosts supplied a dozen eggs in the fridge! Very good value, recommended.

I can’t reach property manager ,and online says sleep for 6 people but it’s enough for 4 people,

I was there with 6 peoples and feel so bad it’s not enough space for 6 peoples , I didn’t carter board and knife and not .over all I don’t Like the service, This is first time book from HomeAway, I don’t think I’m gonna book again for HomeAway

Living in the country for a break!

My husband and I rented this charming cottage for 5 weeks while transitioning into our new home in Maryland and it was so refreshing to be in the quiet countryside after living in a major city. The cottage is on the top floor of a building on the farm, has wonderful views of the farm and surrounding farms, and the stars at night are beautiful since there is little “light pollution”. There are goats and chickens, guarded by farm dogs, 2 of whom bark a lot but are wagging their tails at same time so they are not scary. Kitchen is a bit on the small side and there is only one bathroom which is off the master bedroom but since we were there alone, it was not a problem to schedule shower time. The owners shared eggs from the chickens which are so fresh we may never buy eggs from the grocery store again. Jarrettsville is a very small town but has some wonderful restaurants and homemade ice cream!

Lauren decided to buy this property the moment she saw it. They put in a full price offer that day, without Y.P. even having seen it. And they're both very glad they did. Their offer was accepted and after that 5 more offers came in- sight unseen! Arikan Acres is a 19th century treasure!

What makes this property unique

During these tumultuous times, coming to Arikan Acres for some R&R is just what the doctor ordered. Easy to social distance. Visit us and you can breath fresh air again! You might just see some of our furry friends like Dexter our bull or Dasher and Dancer our baby goats born just before Christmas 2020. And even though we are away from it all, there's yummy take out just a few minutes away!
