Get Away From It All At This Private One Family Log Cabin
Located on a 15-acre wooded lot, this is a one bedroom log cabin home with a large open loft that has 2 additional beds and a futon. It sleeps 6 adults comfortably, but there are 2 futons that can accommodate children. The home has an open -concept kitchen and living area with a full bathroom. It is heated primarily by a wood stove, and there is a ventless propane wall heater for an additional heat source. There is a comfy screened-in porch, a large deck overlooking the lake and a wood fired sauna. The lake is quiet and very peaceful with only 2 other cabins. There is a small pontoon boat that can be used at no extra charge as well as two kayaks. We are located three miles off US Highway 41 and are approximately 45 miles west of Marquette and 35 miles southeast of L'Anse. This property was exactly as described but even better! The communication from the property owner was fantastic! He made it feel like you were just using a friends house. The location could not be better! It was located well for day trip excursions. The property was quiet and peaceful and was very well maintained. The amenities were great. We enjoyed the pontoon boat and kayaks. This property is a real northern Michigan gem for those looking to relax and enjoy the UP!

Well appointed cabin with large windows overlooking an almost private lake. Lots of deck space to soak up the sun during the day and view the stars at night. Fantastic sauna and lots of watercraft to enjoy.
This property on Spruce Lake is absolutely wonderful! It sits on a hill overlooking the lake and has amazing views. The owner is very attentive to every single detail and very thoughtful. The house is extremely clean and comfortable. My children loved the canoe, paddleboard, kayaks, tubes and pontoon. We saw lots of wildlife and enjoyed being on a lake with only 2 other houses. Would definitely recommend!!
We spent five relaxing days at this beautiful property and could not have been happier with the experience (except we wish we hadn't chipped your coffee carafe!!). The house is so clean and well equipped, one of the best equipped kitchens we've had the opportunity to use in our 10 plus years using vrbo. The owners truly thought of everything in preparing the cabin for our stay. When we went to build a fire, we took the top off the fire pit to discover they had prepared it entirely, and all we had to do was light a match! The view from the deck held us captivated for most of our stay, and we saw a bald eagle fly right in front of us on our third day. The lake felt almost exclusively ours, and my husband caught a couple of bass. The owner checked in with us via text to make sure everything was okay and to give us tips to better enjoy our stay. You truly get the feeling they are very invested in the quality of your stay--and we enjoyed our time so much we are already trying to figure out when we can get back there.
Of all the places we’ve rented, this has by far been our favorite. The house was more than what we expected. The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with anything you need for cooking, and the kids had their own loft area to play and hang out. The outside was very well maintained, and all the extras that the owners do for you just blew us away. If you’re looking for a private getaway on a gorgeous lake, this is it. All the comforts of home, but you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
What an awesome experience our family had at this amazing home. Everything was clean, well- thought out and exactly as described. We enjoyed the boat on the great fishing lake, sunsets on the deck and even the sauna on the cool nights! Owner was wonderful from the onset with helpful directions, suggestions and answering questions. We loved every minute and hope to be back!
Quiet camp sitting on a point within Spruce Lake. Plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoors on the property and cabin had some nice modern features to make our stay quite enjoyable.
Excellent host and beautiful property. Special touches and comforts all around you. Fishing from the dock, cruising the lake or sitting by the fire - family time all around you.
I would say Id highly recommend this place to family and friends. The owners are great! They made the whole process so smooth and exciting! From check in, to the care and love you can see that theyve put into the cabin. It's so much more than just 4 walls and a roof. All we had to do was walk in, relax, in a peaceful and comfortable environment. Our trip was peaceful but adventurous and, I cant wait to go back!
We had an amazing time the week after 4th of July. 2020. With Covid in full swing we set to escape to someplace remote for a family vacation. This cabin was beautifully appointed, amazing views and wonderful homeowners who checked in on us to make sure everything was satisfactory. The lake connects two other nearby lakes via a easy kayak or canoe excursion. Just wish we had more time to explore!
This place is wonderful if you want an inviting place by woods and water, and away from it all. Our only "glitch" was a bit of a problem with the information "app" supplied by the listing agency, but we quickly developed work-arounds with the owners who were totally accommodating. The cabin is homey and beautiful, and every moment there was perfect. Close to loads of places for hiking, and the owners provided multiple options for use of the lake - pontoon boat, kayak, canoe, etc. Lots of places to cuddle up with a book and a glass of wine... on the deck or the other deck, or by the woodstove (although we lucked out with lovely weather and no need to make use of it). In short, we'll be back, I'm sure.
The best stay I've ever experienced in Michigan and beyond
I can't say enough how special this place is. There are ENDLESS details which are truly unique for a rental property. I was in awe. I am so grateful. You can feel the love and kindness that the owners put into the property in order to share an experience in one of the most perfect places on earth. This private lake is special, and all ways that you may want to experience water you can. I took the pontoon boat out, then came back in and floated on a raft, then kayaked, then paddle boarded. It was amazing.
But if you never want to leave the house- if you're not interested in water- that's ok, too. You can see the most beautiful views from inside the cabin, or you can sit on the huge deck overlooking the lake. I enjoyed morning rendezvous with hummingbirds while sitting on the deck. When I wanted sun I laid on the chaise and zero gravity chair. And when I wanted shade, I sat under the umbrella.
I can't wait to go back. Do yourself a favor and book your stay here. And whatever length your trip is, add a day or two. You won't be ready to leave. ;-)
My heart is grateful for this incredible stay and for Maureen and Dusty.
This cabin was way beyond our expectations. Spacious rooms, a porch, multiple decks to relax on, a row boat, a paddle boat, two kayaks, a canoe, a paddle board, three large inflatable tubes with drink holders, a pontoon, and a sauna in a very peaceful and quiet location. Unbelievably quiet. Only a 20 minute drive from a nice beach at Van Ripper State Park and a 50 minute drive to Marquette. We wished we could have stayed longer.
This is such a beautiful place! Very comfortable and well appointed-it has everything you need! We loved using the kayaks, paddle board and paddle boat! I wish we could have stayed longer!
This property is fantastic. It is a very clean and well taken care of property. They have everything you would need to make the place feel like home. We did not want to leave this place and we have rented several properties on VBRO and this was by far the best one yet. The use of the kayaks, paddleboards and pontoon were an extra bonus to this place. It is very quiet out here and the views every day overlooking the lake were breathtaking. We would definitely stay here again. The owners were very accomodating, even left a lamp on for us since we were arriving late at night. This place is definitely the place to stay at if you are looking for peace and quiet. The only noise around is the birds. This cabin was close to everything we wanted to do in the Porcupine Mountains, Ironwood, Iron Mountain and Copper Harbour. This was a great place to call "home" after a long day of hiking. Stay here, you won't regret it.
