About this property

Log Cabin Get Away: A Perfect Mountain Retreat

Gorgeous cabin featured as Log Home of the Month in Log Home Living Magazine! The 'Log Getaway' is a 1200 square foot log cabin made with 18' average diameter hand crafted logs, soaring cathedral ceilings, a huge master loft with log bed, stainless steel appliances, copper sinks, stone shower, and wide plank wood floors. An unknown area to most in LA, Pine Mountain Club is quieter than Big Bear and an easier drive! Perfect for one to two couples or a small family as we cannot accommodate more than four (4) occupants at any one time. Heat for the cabin is provided by a cozy gas fireplace/stove. There is beautiful hiking to a magical waterfall just a short walk up the road and you can enjoy the snow in the winter as we are at 6500'feet elevation (which keeps it cool in the summer as well)! A 9-hole PGA executive golf course and a quaint village center with shopping and restaurants are just 5 minutes away. New amenities also include a 55'' LCD Flatscreen TV with DISH and a large DVD collection. The Master is a large open loft with a king bed, an office, and a sitting area and 1/2 bath. The downstairs bedroom has a queen bed and is next to the full bath. There is also a collection of games, poker chips, a large DVD collection and Satellite TV. Enjoy the outdoors, just one hour north of the San Fernando Valley, one hour south of Bakersfield, and 15 miles west of Frazier Park. An easy 2 hours of LA, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and Santa Maria. Pine Mountain Club is truly an undiscovered escape that is so close to so many! Due to this elevation the CHP requires that you carry chains when there is a chance for snow. Check PMC weather and road condition information. Due to the high fire danger no smoking or campfires are allowed on the property. Spectacular Place, Wonderful Hosts

This is our second time staying in this adorable cabin and we absolutely love it! The location is fantastic, right on the mountainside, with views all around! It’s a lovely, quiet neighborhood. We got lots of snow and had so much fun with the kids playing in it. We did some sledding down the driveway and built snowmen. The hosts are very kind and helpful if you need anything. We would love to come back again soon, and we are always so grateful to stay here. Thank you!!! :)

Great For Families

We wanted a get away in the snow with our two grade school-aged kids and this spot was perfect! Small and cozy but with everything you need. Our pups loved it too! Just up the road is a great hiking trail and plenty of snow for making snowmen and snow ball fights. Our hosts were most accommodating, answering every question and check in/ check out was a breeze. Can't wait to come back!

WONDERFUL HOSTS!!!!

I am giving high marks to this property. Now the interesting part, we never go to stay in the cabin because mother nature snowed us out and the previous vacationers were snowed in! So, you might ask, how can this guy review this property? Simple – when you rent, it is not ONLY the property that makes your experience great, it is the temperament and attitudes of the individual(s) that host you. This, dear reader, is a review of the KINDNESS and TRUE HOSPITALITY of hosts A. and A. who own this beautiful property (that we hope to eventually make see when weather allows in the future! 😊) The hosts were nothing short of remarkable with their constant surveillance and conveyance of the road and weather conditions for us. They gave us warnings where warranted and even suggested early on that they would fully understand if we had to cancel. When the road conditions opened up in a subsequent day, we made a ‘mad dash’ to try to realize our cozy cabin destination only to have several snafus intervene (road closures, broken chains, previous group stuck while the host’s local assistant worked feverishly to clear snow that just kept coming, etc.) But even as we attempted what became impossible, the hosts sweetly offered to buy us a warm meal at a local restaurant as we waited for conditions to change. Who does that?!?! When things didn’t work out because of Mother Nature, they cheerfully and without hesitation worked with me to ensure my money was refunded and wished us a future chance to try out their incredible cabin. Having talked to these hosts a multitude of times during this, I have a strong understanding that they are wonderful, decent people. I think their beautiful property will speak for itself but I wanted to share and speak on behalf of A. and A. In the hustle and bustle of a crazy world were folks often don’t take the time to stop and say hello, let alone conduct business transactions civilly, these hosts are true gems! Based on THEM ALONE, I would recommend this property (and hope to actually VISIT in the near future!)

Owners and location great; Cabin is beautiful, but cleanliness could use some TLC

Beautiful cabin in a hidden location - close to LA, you feel like you're getting away. Good hikes nearby, you get access to a community club with golf course. A wonderful way to get away, especially since there is very limited cell phone access and internet is limited to basic browsing (i.e., no streaming). The property itself is really cool - made entirely of wood, it's a joy to look at how the cabin was constructed. The owners are incredibly responsive and provide a comprehensive check-in / check-out list. They also have guides for nearby hikes. Unfortunately, it could use some TLC when it comes cleanliness. On first impression, it's tidied up and organized. However, I found everything in need of a good deep clean. The kitchen was dirty - the oven smoked when we used it; the sink hadn't been wiped down; tables needed a soapy wipe down. Generally, lots of "nooks and cranies" were dusty/dirty. However, I'm a pretty clean person, so take this all with some grains of salt - I'm the type that wipes down my sinks every night and does a deep clean of the bathrooms once a month. So, if you're not like this, you'll truly love this cabin.

Lovely

Beautiful, spacious cabin in a nice, quiet location. It was very clean and well stocked. The small signs throughout the cabin provided helpful info so there was no guesswork on how things worked. We only had a 2-night stay, but it was so nice we wished we had longer!

Beautiful and Relaxing

This is a beautiful and comfortable property. It has none of the cheap items that you often get in a rental property. The kitchen dishes, pots and pans, silverware, cups, plates...everything was of a good quality with enough to take care of your needs while there. There are little notes everywhere (creatively done with a 'burnt or old-style' look to them) that tells you how everything works. We spent time in every room and we were very comfortable and content. At first I was a little disappointed that I wouldn't be going through the process of lighting my own fire but once I realized how the stove worked, it was nice to have the fire burning when heat was needed and then fade away when it was no longer needed. The area is also beautiful. It is remote and quiet even when there was a birthday party going on next door. I highly recommend this cabin and plan to return when we have a desire to spend some time out of the city and enjoy some snow.
