Great place to stay for a fishing trip!! The inside of the house was clean and as described. There is a boat dock with a boat house you are able to tie to, but…. You are not able to pull into the boat house. Being able to pull into the boat house would have been convenient. Other than that… great place to stay for a group of fisherman!!!
This was an older property but exceptionally clean, very comfortable, furnishings and beds and right on the water in one of the prime Fishing locations on Lake Guntersville. Property owner was very responsive and kept us informed prior to in during our trip.
We had a great time staying by the water and loved the old feel of the house! We hope to possibly get to stay in the future! The host was kind and helpful with anything we needed and texted back fast. I would very much recommend this place!
This location is stunning. My husband and I have stayed at “fancier” vacation rentals, yet there is something charming about this place that will keep us coming back. For the price, this is a great getaway. The location is serene, private, and quiet. Our goldendoodles had the times of their lives. They were able to jump in the water and splash around. Also, the water pressure was something to write home about as well. Perfect for cleaning pups after a day of frolicking by the lake. The kitchen has plenty of space if you have cooking in mind.
I rented this property for a weekend getaway at the lake with my wife and daughter and was pretty disappointed at the condition it was in. It smelled musty, the bathroom sink is barely hanging on to the wall, there is mold and water spots on the ceiling, the floor is soft in some spots, and the outside was falling apart with weeds taking over. If the owner would just invest a little money to update and fix this place up a bit it would be an awesome rental. There's a reason why it's one of the cheapest rentals on the lake.
We enjoyed our stay. The wooded lot blocks The views of other homes so you can enjoy just looking at the lake and some privacy. The cottage was very clean, stocked with everything needed.
Rustic is an appropriate descriptor. And it was accurately described in the listing.
It would be helpful if the light switches were labeled. I was unable to get the lights on in the driveway.
The one statement in the listing that I disagree with is the statement that it is handicap accessible. I disagree. The front entry is sloped toward the door and there is no handrail. Also the broken tiles at the entrance to the kitchen offer awkward footing. And the threshold between the kitchen and the living room would definitely be a tripping hazard for a person with mobility issues.
Also check-in time is listed at 4:00 and yet the cleaning lady was still there until nearly 4:40.
We only stayed 2 nights for a fishing trip, but we loved it! It is an older cabin, but was very clean and comfortable. Easy access and adequate parking for our boat. The owner was easy very responsive and informative. We will definitely rent again.
Our 3rd stay here. Had a great time, caught some really nice bass. Had to cut our fishing short when Hurricane Helene dumped rain and blew like crazy. But that did give us the opportunity to go to Cathedral Caverns State Park. Lost power for a little over an hour, the owners were great keeping in touch. Looking forward to next year!
Third time staying here and hopefully not our last. Good center lake spot in a quiet bay. Everything as shown and water pressure in shower is like a massage after a long day fishing.
Rustic as advertised. Easy walk to the dock. Our dogs loved the property. Everything worked correctly. Thanks for the heads up about the Keurig, we took our Mr. Coffee. No problem. Some bowls suitable for cereal or oatmeal would have been nice.

Views of the lake are great within this secluded, shaded lot. Makes you feel like you are at the lake all by yourself and just seconds from catching fish or sun.
