Mountain vacay

The cabin was cozy and nicely decorated. There were ample amenities. We enjoyed getting away for a few days. Michelle was available to answer our questions.

Cozy Cabin with everything you need

First of all I have to say the photos don’t do this lovely cabin justice! It’s even better in person. It’s so lovely and cozy in every which way. We were all amazed at the attention to detail that went into decorating this cabin. We are a family of 4 and felt so at home. When we walked in it smelled so lovely and the place was stocked with everything that a family could possibly need to stay. There were even a few games and a puzzle in the hall closet. Just bring your clothes and some food. Coffee, tea, and many other things are already here. The cabin is nestled in a beautiful area and there are hiking trails to explore right around the corner within the community. There are even walking sticks right on the front porch for those who want to use them. Michelle was really lovely and checked in on us via text to see if we had everything we needed and let us know she was just a text away to help. I intended on getting some work done while away but the internet connection was not the strongest. Also cell reception was zero 99% of the time for me because of where the place is situated. Funny how the universe works - finally forced to take a break from work. My recommendation is to have WhatsApp or some other way to make calls via internet as apposed to cell before heading out. If anyone thinking about renting this place is hesitating…don’t! It’s such a gem and really really lovely! We will def be back in the future.

Vacation

Very nice house and easy access, the manager of the property always answered my text in 5 min. of sending. The house could have been cleaner, but over all very nice.there was no chest of drawers in the twin bedroom so nowhere to put your clothes , ok for short time stays but we stayed a month and needed a place for our clothes. Whoever cleans the property need a lesson in cleaning houses, there was cereal under the beds in the twin bedroom and had not been vacuumed in a while. Yes I would stay there again very safe place and great experience with Michelle and Joy.

Beautiful cabin just out side of Murphy, NC.

The cabin has a beautiful setting in a secluded area. All furnishings were very nice and plenty of linens, cooking utensils, etc. Nice outside fireplace area.. The property owner was very prompt in answering our question on how to operate the TV. (Would recommend putting check-in and check-out instructions in the welcome book.) The outside stairs may be difficult for those with walking disabilities. We would highly recommend this cabin in the woods and would rent again.

Great location

Our family enjoyed our stay at this unique cabin. The surrounding areas are fantastic for hiking, and we loved the quiet secluded setting and scenery. Very close to towns like Blue Ridge, Helen and Murphy . Michelle was an awesome host. We look forward to coming back!

Very accommodating

We had a great time at the cabin. The first time we drove in was a little rough due to going up the mountain and then having to make a sharp left o turn into the driveway, but after the first time driving in my husband became an expert. We had an issue with the Wi-Fi when we got in but Michelle was very helpful. She contacted the internet provider & made sure they were able to troubleshoot us to solve the issue. She even had them come out to make sure we didn't run into this problem again. Michelle was very helpful throughout our stay there with recommendations on things to do and places to visit. She kept in touch with us the whole time. It's very nice to have such a great host check in and follow up with us throughout our stay. We also got lucky and got some very unexpected snow flurries one morning! We were looking forward to having snow but settled for the flurries. Kids loved it and that's all that counts! The location of the cabin is great as well. Close enough to visit TN & GA too. Which we did! Thank you Michelle for being such a sweet and communicative host. We'll visit again soon!

Charming Cabin

The cabin is charming and kept very well. It has many amenities and it makes the stay very comfortable. Reaching the cabin is challenging during freezing temperatures because of the steep road leading to the property.

Murphy cabin

Everything was good. I have only two issues. 1-The outdoor grill is too smal, I mean very very small, you only can cook two burgers at once. 2- after two days, the 1 first floor bath began smeel pee, I cleaned many times the bathroom with clorox and the smell continued. I think the problem were the bathroom carpet.

Great Long Weekend Getaway

We had a fun time in this cabin. It’s quite a steep road in - but, for our group, this added to the fun and overall experience. It’s perfectly situated off the beaten path, but close enough to restaurants and stores/shops. Cabin was very clean and the perfect size for our group. We enjoyed the porch and the wildlife that came to visit in the mornings. Owners are super responsive to any questions and are very friendly. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Great get away

Knocked one star off due to the kitchen not really being a “full” kitchen. I would have expected at least some of the common condiments/spices... I mean I knew I had to bring my own but when I read “full” I figured I would find way more than just dishes. The drive way was also worrysome as it rained all weekend while I was there... so cement for a nice drive in would be great for future travelers. I also feel like the cabin details should state that they have no cable, internet is really slow so it was hard to see a show on the itty bitty TV (an upgrade would also be nice) we had to watch saved shows on our laptops. So if you’re readying this and get rained in with no where to go, bring along your favorite DVDs as they do have a player (though no movies) we had to drive 20 minutes to rent some at red box. Otherwise the cabin itself it’s beautiful, clean and spacious. We also enjoyed the bonfire though you should bring your own camping chairs as they have none.

Not what we expected

We rented the cabin primarily based on what we saw in the pictures on VRBO. We really liked the cabin itself. It was clean and had everything we needed. We were very disappointed though by (the lack of) a view from the porch and the location of the cabin. Based on the images we believed the cabin would provide a nice view but that was not the case. The cabin is surrounded by trees. Also, and we probably should have paid more attention to other reviews, the road leading up to the cabin is extremely steep. Fortunately, it did not rain during our stay, as I would have hated to drive up and down that road in bad weather. Even walking up and down that road (only option if you want to take a walk) was a challenge.

My wife and I stayed for five days after Christmas and found the property to be as described, if not better. It was clean and presentable. Murphy and the surrounding areas in both GA and TN are worth a day trip to visit. We didn’t want to leave but are hoping Serenity Escapes is available the next time we are in Murphy.

Very nice

The cabin is very nice, a little older than it appears in the pics. The road to the drive way is paved however very steep( would be difficult if ice on road) the cabin was very spacious and clean. The management was very prompt and extremely nice and professional. The gas fire place was difficult to get going and at times just would not come on, she was extremely helpful. Our overall stay was very nice.
