Great location beautiful view of the beach and the sunrises and sunsets! Located directly beside the walkway that led you through the marsh full of wildlife and out on the private beach which was spacious and peaceful! Bedrooms spacious and screened in back porch were perks. The gate where the trash was kept was super full and it was hard for us to fit anymore only downfall really the listing said trash pickup was 2 days a week didnt seem it was emptied all week otherwise all was great!

Unique island, okay house
There's lots of room in this house, and can sleep 10 easily. However, it was not clean and the "yard" behind the houses floods with rain - you have to wade through standing water to get to the boardwalk.
Dealing with the property manager required repeated follow-up from me, to be sure the house was reserved, to be sure my payment was processed, etc. If I hadn't repeated called, I'm not sure the online reservation would have secured the house.
About Harbor Island: it's beautiful from a natural perspective, but not beach-friendly. For most of our week, the tide was out during the day, taking the water's edge hundreds of yards from the beach. You had to walk on sand/mud flats to get to the water, but still it was very shallow. Just understand this so you aren't expecting to plunge into the ocean and waves!
Harbor Island is like a nature preserve. Wildlife all around on land and in the sea. It is a .25 mile walk from 39b to the ocean along a boardwalk. Since the island is facing ACE Basin and Edisto Island, the wind and waves come from the ocean to the left. This results in almost non-existent waves. The adults enjoyed the relaxation, but the kids wanted more action in the water. The tides on the Pelican Point side of the island (closest to Hunting Island) we super dramatic, exposing a few miles of sand bars. At the peak of low tide, we walked almost 4 miles from our spot on the beach to the front of Hunting Island. Wonderful place to vacation! Beaufort is 30 minutes away and a great place for a history tour and shopping. Spent one morning at Hunting Island exploring the "boneyard" on South Beach and the light house. Highly recommend Harbor Island for a relaxing beach vacation surrounded by nature.
Nice location for a vacation during the Covid-19. Beach was empty. The house needs some serious updates and deep cleaning. Surface cleaning was fine but deep cleaning is needed. Old food and spices need to be thrown away. Most people will not use someone else’s leftovers. Local restaurants were nice and everyone was following the “wear your mask order “
We have always been mesmerized by this island and that will never changed! It is now a Thanksgiving tradition! This is our second stay at this unit and once again we were not disappointed! Always well stocked, amazing views of the ocean and so cozy!
We loved the location and enjoyed our trip. The house could use a few updates, particularly the beds and the cookware in the kitchen (which was comically horrible and dated). But everything was functional, the views were amazing, and the beach on Harbor Island is pristine.
We loved our stay here. Very comfortable . Very clean. The best part is the back porch. Drinking coffee in the morning watching the sun rise. Looking at the stars over a glass of wine. The walk to the beach is so pretty. Like the other reviewers said... it takes a minute but we loved it! We took pictures of this untouched beauty. It was Labor Day weekend and it was not crowded. I hope we can make it a place we regularly visit.
This property was perfect for our family of 9. Everyone had their own bedroom/bath and the kitchen and dining area was very accommodating. The kitchen/pantry could use some organization and deep cleaning along windowsills, baseboards, and under beds & sofas would be recommended. We loved that we were on the end of Harbor Island and secluded from most of the other homes. We knew the beach was a little walk so we brought our wagons and I’m glad we did! FYI if you’re looking for big waves to play in, this IS NOT the beach for you! It’s VERY shallow, which was fine for us since we have 3 small children. However, at low tide, you have to walk about 50 yards or so just to get to the water! We weren’t expecting that, but we planned our beach time around high tide, and went to the nearby Hunting Island State Park a few times to play in the waves. The local restaurants were great!! Overall, this was a great family vacation spot!

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Overall satisfied
The rental company did not say in property description nor any correspondence that parking passes were extra. So I was shocked when they called the week before our arrival when I was charged another $140 for 2 extra passes.
The location was ok. Not what we were expecting but that is our fault for not knowing the area.
A ton of bugs, bring tons of OFF. But it is marshy so we were prepared.
The pool was nice, community was pleasant. The nearby Hunting Island State park was wonderful. Although with a fee per day, it was pricey to take the whole family each day.
We have stayed at Harbor Island many times and by far loved this location. The house was comfortable and had plenty of space for our large group. The place could use some TLC and updating, but all in all it worked great for our week at the beach. We loved the extra bikes that came with the house! It would have been nice to have a wagon to haul our beach supplies. Make sure and bring bug spray! We all got eaten by the mosquitoes.

Close to beach and spacious
Our family enjoyed our stay at the house. We loved the location close to the beach and Hunting Island State Park. The house was clean and comfortably spacious. Some things were quite dated (closet doors and cabinetry; vacuum cleaner). The description did not match what was actually available (beach towels and sand toys aplenty but description said neither would be there causing us to fly in and buy these things in unnecessarily). The house really had everything we needed and we would stay there again.

Nice home and beautiful area. Would love to come back.
My whole family loved this home and the area. We all want to come back in the future. We were in the area for my youngest son's graduation from Marine boot camp at Parris Island so we were pretty busy most of the time. The home was nicely furnished and had everything we needed. Only request would be to have cable on the tv in the bedroom.

Beautiful and peaceful
We enjoyed our first stay at Saint Helena Island. We had plenty of room for our family. We enjoyed sitting on the back deck in the morning watching the beautiful sunrise. We enjoyed riding bicycles around and watching the sunset in the evenings. The restaurants were within 10 to 15 minutes away. The fresh seafood was delicious.
Nicolette was pleasant to work with the rental and suggestions for places to eat.

Good family time
We found the property to be in good condition. The bedrooms were well configured for our family. The common spaces were comfortable. The view was beautiful and the beach was inviting. Since we were there in early September, we were able to see evidence of a loggerhead turtle hatching that had happened during the previous night. That was educational for our grandsons to see.

Beautiful!
We absolutely loved our stay here! Such a peaceful trip. If you are looking for something relaxing, but without the large amount of people this is the place. There isn’t much to do, but that made it even better! Such a beautiful place! Just make sure to pack bug spray.

Perfect House for Relaxing Vacation
I highly recommend this beach house for your next vacation! We rented this beach house for a long weekend in June for my family of 5 and my sister’s family of 5. The house was perfect for 2 families as there were 2 floors- adults stayed in bedrooms on the main floor and the kids were upstairs. We were impressed with how sound proof the 2 floors were, which is a nice plus when you have so many kids in one house. The home was comfortable, beautifully decorated, and had brand new carpet throughout the house. We were also happy to find the house had everything we needed- coffee makers, blenders, toaster, mixer, 1st floor laundry room etc. We loved the screened in patio porch as well as the sun deck. There was a giant sandbox under the house that the kids loved playing in. We had access to bikes but we didn’t take advantage of that. We also had access to the community pool which was awesome. Our boys were able to sign out a basketball and play on the courts. The house is situated on a private beach- we literally walked out of our house, down the walkway and we were right there. The water was beautiful and it was shallow and had a sandbar so our little kids could enjoy the ocean. They enjoyed looking for blue crabs and fish. Homeowner kept in communication with us and even offered to let us have a complimentary late check-out. We ate in every night and didn’t explore the area too much but we had a great time. Thank you for opening your home to us!

Perfect for our family! Highly recommend!
Our family had a wonderful week in this home. The owner was wonderful to work with and accommodated our every need, even rushing to buy baby gates when she found out we were bringing toddlers! The property felt like you were in someone's home and was very warm and inviting. The beds were new and actually more comfortable than ours at home! Plenty of seating for hanging out and dining, lots of nice tvs, extra towels, and the kids really enjoyed the evenings on the screened porch. The deck was great too. We used the kiddie pools under the house on a rainy day and there was always a nice breeze, even in July. With three young children, we cooked most of our meals and there was plenty of pots, pans, dishes, glasses, etc. It was a short ride over to St. Helena and Beaufort if you wanted to venture out or go to Publix or Walmart, or you could get fill-in supplies from the local markets just outside the gate to Harbor Island. The beach in this location is accessed by a long boardwalk so a beach wagon came in handy. The area here is very natural and the dunes are protected so you have dunes between the homes and the beach. You'll see lots of pelicans and other birds flying right over your deck! If you prefer, you can walk or drive a very short distance to access another boardwalk that is a little shorter, and there are pools too! Our family visited Hunting Island State Park two of the days we were there as it such a beautiful, natural park. It is maybe 5 minutes away max!
The owner just put this property on the rental market so I was all prepared to give her suggestions to make the stay even better, but my family and I couldn't come up with any suggestions! Everything was so nice and thought out and we couldn't have been happier with the house! If you have any questions about the location or the property, I'd highly recommend reaching out to the owner. She is so helpful and responsive and provided the best rental experience possible. Enjoy!

1st Visit to St. Helena Island
Enjoyed the rental but there is not much to do from an evening entertainment standpoint. Spent 2-3 days shore fishing, and was impressed by the number of fish we were catching and releasing. If you are looking for strictly downtime with minimal night life then it’s the perfect place.
