Inside, you'll find a well-equipped kitchenette with everything you might need to prepare anything from quick snacks to full-course dinners. Dine together at the adjacent table, and then lounge by the efficient woodstove and watch something on the TV in the cozy living area. Outside, there's a deck overlooking the old fir forest as well as an upper-level balcony off the primary bedroom with a hammock, perfect for afternoon naps. And for the ultimate relaxation, enjoy a soak in the private hot tub.

This home is located just 40 miles northeast of Portland and 12 miles from downtown Washougal. The surrounding forest is filled with native northwestern plants and old-growth trees, some more than 300 years old. A wide variety of outdoor activities are possible here, yet the setting is secluded and free from the noise and distractions of everyday life. Enjoy easy, year-round access to hiking, boating, fishing, and skiing.

Not exactly what’s represented
Our stay was good, that being said. It’s listed as being secluded and private. It’s far from private and only secluded because of the location. The need to list that the hot tub is not private and it is not next to the house.. it’s across the muddy pine needle filed parking area and down a muddy trail. The hot tub is a great feature, but if your looking for seclusion and privacy.. this may not be the place for you. The house has a spa bathtub, that would be great if the neighbors construction guys didn’t walk by the clear glass window that is right at chest lever for a 5’9 person.. I will never understand why windows have see through blinds.. ridiculous when right next to the house and windows is the trail everyone seemed to use during our stay..on top of that, you only get about 1/4 full, about an inch above the intake and the jets before you run out of hot water.. got a big tub, you need a big water heater. Once I went to get in it.. the jets failed to work. Could have been operator error, but all you have to do generally ispush the button, you should be able to turn the button for different speeds is what it looked like, I couldn’t turn it. Last complaint why no coffee pot.. French press kinda sucks if you are in a hurry and want more then 2 ounces of coffee.. they could have at least had coffee for the Kurig .. but no, only tea! This is the USA- we drink coffee here. Lol. Threat view from the master bedroom.

Great house, very relaxing.
Wife and I were here to celebrate our anneversary and wanted a quiet and peaceful place to do so. We found the place to be just what we needed, the sound and view of the river were great, the hot tub was hot and ready to be used when we got there and we were immediatly ready to relax and enjoy ourselves. We were surprised how close the neighbors were, but honestly never heard or seen anyone other than what must've been a contractor next door. The fire place was nice, and there was plenty of extra wood ouside covered and dry. The first day the owners showed up to drop off a new toaster oven that needed replaced. They were very kind and made the swap very quickly to be out of our way. I got the impression they had tried to beat us there to do this since they had very little notice that the old one wasn't working. They even told us that we didn't have to leave at 2 (we had late checkout) if we wanted to stay longer which was very nice of them! We plan to return, and bring along a couple of kids whom we think will also very much enjoy the house and river. The WIFI is a little slow, but we live in an area similar where it just is what it is and we were used to that kind of wifi. It still streamed movies and kept us in contact with our kids as there is no cell service in this location.

Simple Necessities lacking
No toilet paper, paper towels, no pans or pots to be able to cook a meal. No hand rail on stairs. I was holding my baby and slipped down the stairs and hurt my back so bad.

Relaxing, but lack of TLC
After we cleaned the hot tub that was musty, lacking chlorine, washed the dead skin around the rim, it was a beautiful setting. If you can find your way to it with no porch lights. Also don't slip down the stairs with inadequate handrails, or fall through the deck with major rotted boards. Let's talk about dinner.. Full kitchen means no oven, no dishwasher, lack of utensils altogether. All in all it was a good trip don't worry about paying for a late check out because the cleaning lady is going to show up at noon regardless, while your having a relaxing morning in the hot tub..so you get to have that awkward conversation. Oh and enjoy the cozy wood stove, the wood shed was completely empty. Did we enjoy ourselves..of course we did, cause that's what we always do. PS your welcome for making the TV/wifi work.

Just what we needed
Great little spot for peace and quiet. Excellent view of the river and the hot tub and bath both worked well. The kitchen works but is a little more bare bones, thanks to a previous review I had brought all the spices and cookware I would need and was able to make some pretty tasty meals. Netflix worked and the place stayed warm throughout our stay. Definitely would come back to this little spot nestled in the woods.

Loved our time at this secluded cabin
The cabin was cute, hot tub got hot, and the jacuzzi tub was amazing. The river was nice. We floated with some innertubes and had a lovely time. There were a few things missing from the kitchen we needed such as a big pot for pasta or many spices so definitely bring spices. I also got engaged while staying!! Definitely a place to make memories!

Everything We could have asked for!
Loved how close this cabin was to some great Washougal waterfalls and a quick drive to town if there was something you forgot. Unlike other reviews, I found the trail down to the river easy to find and easy to climb. The hot tub was working just fine and was beautifully lit but little string lights. Definitely plan to reserve this cabin again with friends in the future. Thank you!

A hidden gem
The location is incredible. The stairs to get down the river are very manageable (not ada accessible, but doable if you're able to do stairs). You can hear the river from the cabin and see it a bit. Everything was clean and comfortable and I would definitely go again.

Great secluded property
We had a wonderful stay; the property is quite cozy and secluded. There is no cell service at the property, but the Wi-Fi, worked great. We brought a selection of holiday DVD's with us but was sure happy to find we could watch Netflix, as we never did find the advertised DVD player. Also, we tried to follow the checkout policy, but never could locate the dishwasher, but no big deal, we just did the dishes by hand. We did attempt to use the provided BBQ, but as you can see the deck through the grill grates, we elected not to use it. All in all, it was very quiet, loved listening to the river below, and very comfortable.

the views around the cabin and the river are beautiful is quite private the place there are some cabins around but it does not bother you, inside the cabin the internet did not work we spent two days without being able to hear from our family and the phones have no signal, for On the other hand, if I felt like the owners did not take care of many of the details, as everything is a little neglected, if they did it in the right way it would be an excellent place but for now I will only say that it is ok, just that and nothing more.

Very misleading listing
Our family spent a week at this property, and while the house was pretty clean and the kitchen was well equipped, the description of the property is very misleading and the vacation didn't meet our expectations at all. 1) Internet connection, cell coverage, landline: it says that the internet connection is spotty. It's actually not true. In order to get some internet you have to reload the router, and then it appears for some 15 minutes and goes off again. There is no cell coverage at all and no landline in the house. So most of the time you can't connect with outside world by any means even for emergencies. 2) River access: there is a narrow path full of weeds and pretty steep stairs leading to the stony path to the river. You can't really swim there because there are lots of rocks of all sizes, and for fishing you have to get to the middle of the river somehow. So the most our kids could do there was just throwing small rocks into the water. 3) One acre territory: maybe it's indeed one acre in total there, but it's all covered with weeds, fern, ivy and all sorts of stuff, so you can't actually walk there or use it in any way. And after we saw a couple of snakes there, we didn't want to explore it any longer. Overall, we're very disappointed and won't be back. Again, if the description was fare, we would never pick this place for our family vacation.

Private location, but not very clean
The location of the cabin is very private and nice. There is river access, but it's rocky and steep. There isn't a beach that u could go to easily for lunch. It has apple TV, hulu etc. which is good for entertainment. We couldn't get Netflix to work tho. The cabin needs some updating and cleaning. There was a smoke smell in the main bedroom, and in the carpet. Walking barefoot will make your feet black. The kitchen utensils also didn't seem very clean. The lounge couch didn't seem clean- we found hair on it. It's also sunken in, and probably needs replacing.. While the the kitchen had an air fryer, it was clear that it had not been cleaned from previous uses. I'm not sure why the loft above doesn't have a door or walls. It could easily ha e one, making it nice and private. The bathroom is quite dated, and the shower curtain is in an awkward place so u have to make sure ppl can't see u from the window, and at the same time the wood tub exterior doesn't get wet. There is no counter space on the sink. The towels probably also need to replaced.

Excellent Place to Stay, Beautiful Atmosphere
This is a beautiful rental home, in a beautiful area. I was astounded upon arrival to see the location of the river and hot tub in relation to the home - the pictures online truly didn’t do this place the justice it deserves. It was marvelous and perfect for our romantic getaway. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND: There is no cell service. Usually no big deal, but very bad during the winter storm that occurred during our stay. The private road remained unplowed with over a foot of snow when we were supposed to be leaving. In case we couldn’t leave we walked 3 miles to a local mercantile for some extra food supplies. Wifi worked on the property so we downloaded an app to make phone calls and contacted the property management company. We were offered another night’s stay but with worsening conditions we weren’t willing to take a chance of trees falling or power going out. Eventually our last resort was digging out a path long enough to gain momentum and drive to the main road above, about a quarter mile away, only possible with all wheel drive, getting stuck 3 times along the way. Definitely an adventure and vacation to remember. Please just be aware of how isolated you will be if there is bad weather on the forecast. Come prepared. Had some issues with getting timely responses with property management but they made up for it in a reasonable manner.
