About this property

Located in the Latin Quarter, close to the famous Rue Mouffetard, our apartment, of over 80m2, consisting of a large living room and two spacious bedrooms, is surrounded by a leafy and flowery terrace with a pergola for meals . From the apartment or from the terrace, visitors can admire the roofs of Paris and enjoy an exceptional view. They can also rest pleasantly because the apartment is comfortable, quiet and sunny.

The Latin Quarter is probably one of the nicest neighborhoods in Paris. Our apartment is located between Rue Mouffetard and Place Monge. There prevails a very Parisian neighborhood life. Thanks to its universities, there is many young people , bookstores, cinemas, cafes and small restaurants.
At 200 meters, travelers can also enjoy the Arenes de Lutece and the Jardin des Plantes, both unique and historical places of Paris

This area is also very easy to live. On Place Monge, an open market is held three times a week (Wednesday, Friday, Sunday). Travelers can find all the food they need, including biological. There are also several nearby supermarkets, open every day of the week, banks, pharmacies, bakeries, pastries .....

Finally, two subway lines (line 7 and 10), accessible stations Place Monge or Cardinal Lemoine, allow easy and rapid movement in Paris.
Additionally, bus stop No. 47 is 50 meters from the building. This line crosses Paris, going to places to visit first.

Travellers have the whole apartment and private terrace. For all to enjoy, all rooms open onto the terrace

Our apartment is very comfortable and well equipped. The living room has two large windows, one is around 4 meters long, the other 2 meters . Both give access to the terrace and the dining area under the pergola.

The large bedroom 1 enjoys a double exposure and a large French window giving access to the terrace. The view over the rooftops of Paris is unique and rest is assured thanks to the quality and the size of the double bed (180x200 cm).

Chamber 2 may be the TV room but also a room for a couple or two children with twin beds very easy to unfold. If needed, possibility of small child bed. In this room, too, a very large cupboard is available to travelers.

Kitchen and bathroom are very well equipped and pleasant to live.

Fabulous!

Host was most welcoming, spoke excellent English, and explained all that I needed to know. Very comfortable place! Great views from the wrap around porch. Well equipped kitchen. Easy walk to surrounding areas especially Jardin des Plantes( down hill) and the Pantheon(up hill), and access to Metro just a block away! Felt like home to me!

A moveable feast.

Ten years ago, Teresa and I were in Paris for a two week stay, within a block of the Champ du Mars and the Eiffel Tower. We were younger and walked everywhere and saw all we wanted to see. This year, at the age of 72 and 70 years, we had the choice of Germany and Switzerland and France for a whirlwind vacation spanning three weeks, or a 21-day stay in one place; my wife chose three weeks in Paris, and found this gem of an apartment, with a large kitchen and a wraparound balcony overlooking the rooftops of Paris, and it turned out to be the best choice we could have possibly made. For Teresa, the Farmers Market, one block away was perfect for homemade meals; the pharmacy and grocery stores were a two minute walk away, and even Notre Dame was within our personal range, and me with a wonky hip. For myself, Ernest Hemingway, Victor Hugo, La Contrescarpe and Rue Mouffetard were one block away, along with the Pantheon and the church of St Etienne du Mont (Midnight in Paris) were our neighbors in this historic Latin Quarter. We found a great restaurant and a talented bartender to keep us fed and entertained, for weeks. We used the Metro once, and G7 taxis a lot, and loved it. We could go on and on, but want you to have your own impressions, though we will say “You will not be disappointed!” We’ve thanked the landlord and family for the distinct privilege of sharing their home and for the many memories we will relive for the rest of our lives. ❤️❤️

Amazing Terrace!

We had such an amazing stay and Catherine was very helpful as we had a very late arrival!! Latin Quarter was so wonderful to explore and enjoy the night life. We sat and enjoyed the terrace every night with the view of the top of the Eiffel Tower and Pantheon.

Perfect accommodation

This property is fantastic, perfect for a family of three. Immaculately clean with extremely comfortable beds and a well-appointed kitchen. The crowning feature is the garden terrace. Because it was summer and we were out exploring most of the time, other than sleeping we spent the mornings and evenings enjoying and cooling off on the terrace. It has sweeping views of the city and lovely flowers. Catherine was an excellent communicator and host. The surrounding neighborhood is charming and beautiful. We hope to return. Thank you!

Exceptional home in great location

From the moment we entered this amazing apartment, we felt at home. All of our needs were anticipated and met to the highest standard. Best of all, Catherine was warm and responsive to our queries and double-checked that we were comfortable. The apartment itself is spacious and beautifully furnished, with plentiful sunlight and privacy. A natural breeze kept us comfortable ---even during a heatwave and 106 degree daytime temperatures, the wraparound terrace was pleasant for late evening meals. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Wonderful experience

In three extended visits to Paris, this was by far the greatest place we’ve stayed in. Amazing neighborhood, with everything you need close at hand. A farmers’ market a block away 3 times a week. 2 metro stations within a few blocks, one going to the left bank the other going to the right. All manner of excellent French and ethnic restaurants nearby. 6 bakeries within a few blocks! The huge Jardin Des Plantes 4 blocks away. Best of all, the apartment itself is a home, not just a rental property. I could go on and on about the quality of the bed, the kitchen and everything else. To top it off, there is an very large balcony that wraps around the South And West sides with views you never tire of. Saving the best for last, the hosts are gracious and helpful. I only hope it will be available when next we visit Paris.

Great View and Location

Our stay in Paris was enhanced by spending time on the lovely terrace enjoying Parisian sunsets. The apartment is very clean with all the amenities needed for a comfortable visit. Grocery stores, wine stores, bakeries, cafes and restaurants were all in easy walking distance, as was the metro stop. A great farmers market is available nearby three days a week. Communication with our hosts was excellent. I would definitely stay here again! The property is as lovely as it looks in the pictures.

The best of my many Paris vacation rentals

More than a perch -- a real home, superbly comfortable and beautiful apartment, well laid out with high quality furnishings everywhere. The beautiful plantings and the wrap-around terrace was a constant delight and the unobstructed views even gave us the full moon all night. The kitchen is so well equipped I invited friends and cooked fresh food from the nearby farmer's market. Catherine could not have been more pleasant and flexible as our travel plans kept changing. Giving this apartment my highest recommendation.

Amazing Latin Quarter Find

Well-appointed 6th floor apartment ideally situated near Rue Moufftard and Place Contrescarpe with 180 degree views from a beautiful garden terrace; an incredibly responsive and kind host; within walking distance of the Seine, the Louvre, the Pantheon, Musee d'Orsay, Sainte-Chapelle, and many other sites; 2 minutes from Place Mongue Metro station. Absolutely incredible stay!

Where do I begin to express just how wonderful our experience was at Catherine’s beautiful, Parisian apartment! Catherine is a consummate host, so kind and easy to communicate with. The apartment is perfectly located near lively squares with many cafes/restaurants, markets and shops. Two metro lines make it easy to get everywhere. The apartment is very spacious, modern and comfortable but the absolute “piece de resistance” is the gorgeous, flower filled wrap around terrace with unbelievable views of the Paris rooftops !! We just loved opening up the doors to the fresh air and sitting outside to eat or have a drink each day after wandering the city. We could not have asked for a better place to stay and would definitely love to visit again!

Perfect Location!

My mother and I had the most wonderful stay at Catherine's beautiful flat in the Latin Quarter. The house is spotless and very comfortable. Perfectly located to leisurely walk down to the Seine or hop on the Metro. The views from the balcony extend into the living room and are absolutely beautiful. I'm so happy that we stayed here and if I ever return to Paris would not hesitate to return to Catherine's lovely home.

Beautiful!

My family stayed at Jardin des Plantes 7/15 - 7/19. Wow, did we love the patio and views. The apartment is quite comfortable for our family of 3 with plenty of space. A market is within walking distance and there is easy access to the Metro. We enjoyed walking along the Seine and enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony. Lovely Paris apartment in the perfect location

We loved our two-week stay and didn't want to leave! This beautifully decorated apartment is spacious, includes a wrap-around terrace for dining, sunning, reading and enjoying the city views, and has a well-equipped kitchen for those who want to cook. The king-sized bed was very comfortable. The metro line (#7) is a block away and convenient travel to most destinations, and easy to use. The neighborhood is charming and quiet with cafes, bakeries and shops nearby. You can find fresh produce, meat, cheese and fish at the open market one block from the apartment three-days a week. There is no better place to stay than this beautiful apartment. The hosts were very gracious and accomodating.

Absolutely lovely.

This was our 2nd stay at Catherine Burdin's superb apartment on rue Lacépède in Paris 5e. We had been blown away, last year, by the 180 degree terrasse that crowns the apartment (6e étage) and gives you a view of about half of Paris! So we vowed to return this year and were no less blown away. This time, though, we developed more appreciation for the quiet, uncluttered beauty of the interior, as well as the always-magnificent terrasse. Catherine is a lovely hostess, not only leaving a well-stocked apartment but offering advice about all the shops and the restaurants in the quartier. (Offering, not insisting: she is the soul of discretion, and what she most wants is for her tenants to have a marvelous time at her place: we certainly did.) For us (who've been going to Paris for 50 years and once had our own apartment there), Catherine's place on rue Lacépède is simply perfect. This part of Paris is at once as quiet and secluded as you want, and as bustling and full of places to go/things to see as you could wish. We shall return to her flat, again and again: its virtues are inexhaustible.

Wonderful two week stay at Catherine’s Parisian view apartment in fun,centrally located neighborhoo.

We had an amazing two week stay at Catherine’s view apartment. We were warmly welcomed by Catherine’s daughter Fanny and were left wine, coffee, tea and staples. The apartment was immaculate and incredibly well equipped. We’ve stayed in many Parisian apartments, but this one is my favorite by far. We ate many snacks and meals on the gorgeous plant filled terrace complete with views of the Eiffel Tower which sparkles dramatically every hour. The apartment is convenient to two different metro lines: Place Monge and Cardinal Lemoine and we found it easy to get anywhere in the city we wanted to go. Next door is a good supermarket and there’s a Farmers Market at Place Monge several times a week. The apartment was large enough for the three of us and had beautiful views from the living room/dining room and both bedrooms. We were in town during the heat wave, but both bedrooms had portable fans and the master had motorized shades. The cross breezes from all the doors and windows allowed us to remain comfortable even during the extreme summer temperatures. The shower/bidet room is separated from the toilet room making it easy to share. Down the block from the apartment is Place Contrescarpe which had outdoor cafes for coffee, lunch or drinks with musicians playing at night. Along the square is Rue Mouffetard with many restaurants plus a bakery Anthony Bosson, which had the most amazing chocolate almond croissants I’ve ever eaten in my entire life, plus great breads, pastries, and lunch salads to go. I’m glad we didn’t discover that bakery till later in our stay or my pants would be much tighter! This apartment felt like a home rather than a rental, and it was very hard to leave! We hope to return soon! Thank you Catherine and Fanny!

Ideal Paris location

This apartment is delightful and suited our needs perfectly. It's clean, quiet, and comfortable. The terrace is lovely, although weather-dependent, of course. The location was great. It's a short walk to the Metro and to a cool bar/restaurant scene at Place de la Contrescarpe. One word of advice to those arriving at Charles deGaulle Airport: don't try to come into town via public transport, especially with heavy luggage. You'll have to change trains at Gare du Nord and again at Chatelet, involving many stairs. Use taxi or Uber; you'll be glad you did!

a terrace to die for, in the middle of Paris

Everything about Catherine's apartment is first-rate, but the terrace goes beyond first-rate. This is the most delightful terrace I've ever seen in Paris: from it you see huge swatches of the city, and--since the balcony turns 2 corners--it offers pleasure all day long, wherever the sun may be. The rest of the apartment is super tenant-friendly: light/bright master bedroom, efficient, well-stocked kitchen, generously laid out living room, even a spare bedroom for a close friend or family member, everything spotlessly clean. No less, Catherine herself is attentive to every need: we arrived at midnight and she was downstairs when we got there, waiting to let us in! Finally, the location of the apartment--in the heart of the 5e arrondissement, near markets and restaurants and the student-centered quarters of Paris--could hardly be bettered. A real find!

A magical trip

I just returned from a wonderful trip to Paris with my two teenage granddaughters. We loved everything but most especially our beautiful apartment. First Catherine met us as soon as we arrived to welcome us and aquaint us with the neighborhood and all the apartment details. she was most gracious and helpful. The apartment is fully equipped with every modern convenience., very spacious and well situated. There is a Metro stop one block from the apartment The area around the apartment is filled with places to eat, shops and of special importance to my girls bakeries where we bought our daily chocolate croissants, baguettes and maccarons. We were able to walk to many of the most popular attractions and sights. I've saved the best for the last. The apartment has the most amazing wrap around terrace, . There are views and access from every room. Since the apartment is on the 6th floor of an elevated building we were able to see the rooftops surrounding us. The most magical moments were sipping a glass of wine at sunset and watching the lights on the Eiffel Tower from that beautiful terrace. Wonderful memories!

Perfect Paris apartment in a wonderful neighborhood

This was our seventh apartment rental in the fifth arrondisement over the last 20 years and we cannot imagine ever renting elsewhere. It was perfect. It was lovely, warm and gracious, much like its owners. This wonderful two bedroom apartment is spacious and light filled with every amenity one could hope for. The apartment is impeccably maintained with a phenomenally equipped kitchen with state of the art appliances. The furniture is very comfortable and the beds are perfect. The linens are luxurious and the towels are plentiful. The many windows and doors open to the very large and rare wrap around terrace. It was truly an oasis filled with plants and lovely flowers that were in bloom even at the end of October. This is a beautiful, cared for home, not just a rental. The area is safe and fun and residential, with typical family owned businesses and a bustling open air market around the corner. It is always difficult to leave Paris and was even more so leaving this wonderful apartment.

Outstanding Apartment and Owners.

If you love the 5th Arrondissement as much as I do, you will love this apartment. The location is perfect. There is a Carrefour market next door and the place Monge outdoor market, open three days a week, is steps away. The place de la Contrescarpe is a half-block away, in my opinion one of the best “places” for people watching in Paris. We spent practically every day there enjoying a morning coffee or evening aperitif. Rues Monge and Mouffetard are each a block away with everything you need for your stay: cafés, restaurants, butchers, bakers, green grocers, wine shops and all types of places to shop for clothing, jewelry, souvenirs, etc. Even more oustanding than the location is the apartment itself. The owners couldn’t have been more charming and gracious. This is their home and they want you to feel it is your home during your stay. The home is comfortably and beautifully furnished. Just the right amount of personal touches to make you feel at home. We enjoyed sipping a glass of wine on the comfy sofa in the living/dining room area while looking out the wall of windows toward the terrace. The master bedroom had aa excellent bed, large widows with access to the terrace and electric shutters blocking the light at night. Being on the 6th floor, the apartment was very quiet. I slept better better here than any other place I’ve rented in Paris. The kitchen is modern and well furnished with all the coveniences, including a well stocked pantry of condiments, pots, pans, and dishes. The bathroom was also modern and roomy. The real star of the apartment, however, was the terrace that wraps around the entire apartment. The view from the living/dining room view toward the south is spectacular; from the kitchen and second bedroom you can see the Panthéon nearby and the Eiffel Tower in the distance. The terrace container garden is delightful. There is a table and chairs on the terrace covered by a trellis for outside dining. I give the apartment the highest recommendation possible. Catherine promptly and professionally responded to all my inquiries, The apartment was clean, well maintained and as represented in the photos.

A 5 Star experience

This apartment was all we could of wished for. The location made it easy to move around Paris. You're approximately 100 metres to Place Monge Metro. Also in the same square is a market 3 times a week. A week before our stay our daughter decided to join us. I was expecting to pay extra for bedding etc, but Catherine made this unnecessary. Catherine also went out of her way to make sure someone met our daughter in the morning before we arrived to show her the apartment. Which was fantastic as she had just traveled 25 hrs from Australia. Everything in the apartment is of a wonderful quality and taste. Also spotlessly clean. The bathroom and kitchen have everything you require. A washing machine and a dishwasher. Of course we have to mention the terrace. This area was lovely, even though the weather wasn't great we still enjoy this amenity. I could not recommend this apartment highly enough. Catherine was in contact with us just to make sure everything was going smoothly. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Catherine for the use of your wonderful apartment.
