This house was great for our family vacation in Playa Grande. Nice pool for the kids and everything we needed in the kitchen to make meals. About 10 minute walk to the beach and close to a mini market to grab last minute things.
Our family of 4 loved this house. We had plenty of room, and especially enjoyed the pool & patio. The landscaping is top notch and really seemed to invite the beautiful birds to come hang out with us. Even with other houses nearby, the outdoor area was VERY private. Lot's of AC in the house to escape the tropical heat, and some nice inclusives as well. Short drive to the beach, or about 10 minutes walking. Plenty of food and surf shops nearby as well. Great place to unwind near the beach, and much quieter area of the coast than the very busy and touristy Tamarindo area. You can get there in about 30 minutes if thats your jam.
Such a sweet house, with lovely outdoor palapa for dining, reading in hammocks, yoga by the pool. Room are well appointed, comfy beds, and adequate bathrooms for large group. Accessible to beach, close to corner groceries and restaurants. We had a great stay!
The house was incredibly spacious and comfortable for our group. Given the hottern than normal weather the air conditioning worked great and the pool was refreshing. The house is walking distance to everything from restaurants to the beach. We wish we could have stayed longer and enjoyed more of what the house had to offer.
We enjoyed our stay at Casa Surf! Lots of room for our group and close to everything.

Casa surf
The house was clean, it had bikes and surf boards. We enjoyed the pool. The house is walking distance from the beach. The house is in a quiet neighborhood. However the house is dated. It was said the house had a hot tub, that would lead us to believe it had a Jacuzzi It was a tub shower with no stopper or plug and only warm water no hot water. The hot water tank was to small for the amount of people allowed to stay there and also had a timer.

Nice property with pool. A/C worked well. Pool is the perfect temperature. Very private.
Nice property close to the beach, quiet and relaxing area, surrounded by the necessary services, ideal for a buzzing family. Jenn and Sandra are great host, and the monkey that came say hi was also nice. A great headquarter to visit Guanacaste.
House was a perfect place to explore Playa Grande and other area beaches. The house might be described as a bit rustic, but has everything you need including a wonderful pool for a dip when you return from your day.
Howler monkeys provided morning wake up calls, and the sunsets at playa grande are stunning.
Sandra provides great communications and was always available when who came up.
The property is close by the beach, walking distance. So much things to see on the way to the beach and back. We are Canadian and not used to the heat. The pool was perfect for us to cool down during the hottest time of days. The Beach was clean and empty, it was mostly just for us. The owner Jenn and property manager Sandra were always helped us to figure out things. 5 kids (18yr-7yr old) had their own space for each person when we need to rest. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe. Lots of fire flies at night, humming birds at day time, Monkeys are around... so many things are around and very enjoyable.
Awesome place to stay in Costa Rica.
This house was so nice; loved the pool and grounds. An easy walk to the warm waters on a beautiful beach. Beds were very comfy and we fell in love with the local outdoor kitty.
Birds, butterflies and a few monkeys came by.
Great house located in Playa grande . The house is very well equipped and bonus you can use the bikes and a few surf boards. Overall an awesome experience .
The house was big enough for all 9 of our party. It is very quiet and private. Love the location even thought it was difficult to find at night when we arrived, but Sandra was available to help us find the location. We visit several beaches which where only 15-20 minutes drive and of course Playa Grande is walking distance for surfing. It was really nice to have Angelica clean while our stay. The only unsatisfied item I would say was the pool cleanness. It was upsetting when we arrived to see the pool was green. Per Jennifer it was all the rain they being having that makes it dirty. The pool maintenance guys did clean it after 2 days from our arrival. It was a little better, but it would still get dirty. Upstairs it does have one bedroom that is open to the bathroom, so it doesn't have privacy. The upstairs I would recommend it for a family with kids. Also, be aware of scorpions they do get into the house right by the living room area. On her list she does recommend Playa Grande Shuttle & Tours they are awesome. Overall we enjoy our stay and thank you Jennifer for allowing to stay at your home.
Wonderful place- clean, quiet and beautiful property!

Great home to chill in native Costa Rica!
Our party of 6 adults visited Jennifer's lovely Playa Grande home for the first 3 weeks of March, 2019. The house and property is completely secured and located in a very quiet area.
The home has 2 bedrooms down, sleeping 4 comfortably and shared bath. Kitchen and living room lead to the spacious backyard and pool area. Upstairs, the large Master Bedroom opens to a bathroom/ showertub which is shared with an adjoining room with Murphy bed. Due to the open concept of the bathroom area this area would be best suited for a couple and their children.
The outdoor Palapa with large table served us well for our nightly dinners. Indoor dining area is limited to the kitchen bar counter. The 10 minute walk to the expansive beach was worth it as it had beautiful sunsets every night and never crowded. The local Mini Mart (5 minute walk) looked after our basic daily grocery needs and numerous restaurants were within a short walk for dining.
We visited in the dry season so be vigilant of the local critters in the yard (scorpions, wasps, worker ants). Lots of bird watching, iguanas and the infamous howler monkeys to entertain us daily.
Be aware the internet reliability we experienced during our stay was intermittent. Also, a house name would be beneficial as we were delayed at Airport Customs who wanted to know the name/locations of our rental property. Shuttle drivers could also benefit from having a house name. (Street names/addresses are almost non-existent in Costa Rica.)
Thank you Jennifer and house staff Sandra and Angelica for an enjoyable stay and allowing us to experience a little bit of beautiful Costa Rica.

About the host
Hosted by Jenn Eyben
We have been to Costa Rica every year since our kids were born, spending time surfing all over the Nicoya Peninsula. After a full semester of school for them and living here, we bought in Playa Grande in 2017, having found our perfect spot. When we aren't in Playa Grande, we are at home on the west coast of Canada, skiing, mountain biking, running rivers, and performing any other mountain adventure.
Why they chose this property
This neighbourhood has a great mix of rentals and long-term locals, is walking distance to the surf, has great restaurants, and is only an hour from the international airport. What more could you ask for?
What makes this property unique
We offer old cruiser bikes to get around town, some floating options if you don't find what you need at the local shop, assistance in booking tours, a great housekeeper who can offer you additional cleaning services, and are always easily accessible if you need assistance.
